on flyingthor(4.1.2) and experimental kernel v12..as soon as i turn on the wifi my xu reboots n doesnt turns on..
Sony logo is showed then the flames..n suddenly the flames fade out and it again reboots from sony logo..this keeps on repeating
Though i can boot into recovery...tried alot of roms..diiferent android versions..even stock rom..
for some days phone is fine but all of a sudden it restarts and never turns on...
I experienced this before..but then after a few continous cycles of sony logo and the flames the phone turned on..but now no such expectation from it.
Help Please! :/
Someone on these forums wanted to remove the wifi settings as he had this problem, and said it was caused by hardware issues...

Hi I have a weird problem with my sk17i sometimes my touch keys and touchscreen just suddenly stops working. and randomly works again after a few minutes then stops working, goes on and on..
I tried the following:
Different Roms even official rom
Different Kernels (X, Rage, boof's, krsh)
same problem.
I don't have warranty anymore :/
Maybe a overheat problem?Try to let your device cooldown for a few minutes...it can't stand without a rest a day lol

I already did that. I let it rest turned off overnight and turned it on morning after. but the problem persists
i think that is the hardware problem. service center is the answer....

unfortunately i think chepoz is right seems to be a problem with the digitazer (the touch part of the screen) so i bet the fix will be to change it.
i may have found a fix. although I'm not 100% sure yet but ever since I installed the proximity sensor fix from bboof's thread I haven't got any problems yet.
I have bought xps about 20 days ago. Yesterday and today , while I was surfing the net via wifi (both times) , my phone suddenly switched off and made a restart. Did anyone experience a problem like this ?? It never happened before.
Not had that problem - infact I was just thinking today that I haven't restarted my phone for a week.. and it still feels super smooth... which I've never experienced before on Android!
Never had a sudden restart, lag or unresponsive device. Seems that you are the only one here with such a luck...
Is this a reason for returning my phone to Sony? Is sony obliged to replace my device with another one?

Unfortunately sudden restarts are very common in the android world. I think 80% of the android smartphones had at least once this problem. You should wait to see if it happen again and if so try a hard reset or a software repair using sony pc companion. If it will become a common problem even with other users sony with a future update it will fix the problem. What software version do you have .62 .67 or .73 ?
Hi,
If you have this reboot issue
Nothing can resolve this!
But,just in case
Do not use your phone with charger pluged in for long time!
This kill your battery very quick!
And cause autoreboot
And be careful with internet!
If you flash some FW or rom or kernel
Made a full charge before flash
Ciao
I've had this happen to me on my Xperia S twice already while using it.
It also randomly restarts while in standby once in awhile.
Not sure what's causing this. Any suggestions?

If it's not happening very offen like twice a day, the only thing you can do is wait for the 4.0 update, because If you look in all the other android smartphone forums you will see that every android model have this issue from time to time. I think is something like the Windows OS bluescreen...very very difficult for normal users to detect where is the problem. I think with the 4.0 update the problem it will be solved. But if the Xperia S become unstable and randomly rebooting every day try a software repair with pc companion and if this is not solving the problem just go to a Sony support center and give them the smartphone for replacement.
I have the reboot twice
Refresh ROM good!
Hi, my phone also has random restarts. It becomes sluggish and unresponsive, then just restarts.
I think mine has done it once or twice when just in standby mode as well.
I actually got my first Xperia S replaced as it had this problem, but the replacement is also suffering from it.
Seen a few other people saying they have the same over on the Sony forums, so I think its a software problem somewhere.

I have .73. I didn't flash my device nor I use it when charges(and I don't let it charging for hours).
I think that there was not enough RAM at that time but I am not sure. I'll have to check it out.
I just experienced the same problem not too long ago. I was web browsing and my phone crashed and rebooted on it's own. I'm on the phone with Sony right now because I have the youtube issue as well. This sounds like a software issue.
Had mine since March 6. So far only one random reboot, none since update to 6.0.A.5.6

I called Sony Mobile Canada to report this issue. I told her others are having this issue as well. She's going to escalate it. I would like to encourage everyone who's having this problem to call Sony tech support in your Country and let them be aware of this issue. The more people call about this issue, just maybe they will work on a software fix sooner rather than later. Strength in numbers!
No restart on mine
I heavy use internet 3G/wifi on it
But,
I never flash anything on mine with flashtool or seus or pcc
Pure stock FW.67
12w14
AAD-AV
Only 2 "big" issue
Phone freeze one time
when plug charger in
VolumeUp+power solve the bug,
And the yellow tint on the screen.
Normally, when the phone keep autoreboot,or autopowerOff
It is caused by a dead battery
You can identify it
by keep hold power when the phone restart by itself
and at reboot
If the led blink 3 time red when holding power
That's indicated battery die
Or made a battery test in service *#*#7378423#*#*
But your phone is new !
So try a full charge with reset battery to get best power (volumeUp + power 5second one vibrate)
If your phone is rooted
you can delete manualy "power_supply"
in sys/class and reboot
with charger pluged in
After that,
try a full restore with seus with wipe data ect..
Can't help more :-(
Ciao

Sure i understand it much better then u.
What has random freeze to do with battery?
What you are telling is another section:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25402228
Here you go.
Of course it getting hot.
Power means heat...
Logic.
This isnt a overclocked pc with grammacs core mg..
Kills battery and reboot. Right. Your right.
You go from a to z.
Do you even know what you are talking about?
He says freeze with browser bla bla, you begin with battery...
Nvm.
Good luck in your life

My XPS shutdowns randomly after flashing to ICS. I had also rooted my phone with Locked bootloader But due to the problem faced by me i re-flashed with the stock ICS firmware but my phone still shutdowns randomly....
While shutting down It displays Android System and a dialog box which says shutting down please help......
To be precise:
My phone vibrates and turns off. In this days i realized that before vibrates it shows "Android System" and "Shutting down" dialog . that is not cause of battery low. it happened with 70%, 100% battery as well.
that is a 'problem' i've had since i got my xperia arc 2, 3 or 4 times a month it crashes and reboots. i never found out what the problem is/was. i was always rooted.

Maybe this will help. Let us know
My GB firmware used to crash every 2 days or so, forcing a reboot as if battery was removed. It also existed on custom roms. Now after 1 month of ICS usage, I never ever crashed, never had a FC in any app except one time with Facebook app, which is crap
guys i tried repairing the firmware and after repairing 7 days later the problem has started once again ....
So i decided to flash back to GB but after flashing i noticed that even while charging the phone android battery status says Discharging.....
Please help ......

Hello,
Since a few days my phone has had bootloops, after a number of hours it usually boots up. I've been having trouble with WiFi and bluetooth as well, I think that might have something to do with it.
Is anyone having the same, I first thought it was because of lack of internal storage, but now I have performed factory resets and flashed the whole ROM again, it's still not working properly.
Could anyone please help me?
Thanks.

Having the same thing with the WiFi not working, in an attempt to fix that I tried to reboot, bad choice. Resets and flashes wouldn't work either for me. Let me know if you manage to get it fixed.
Anyone having the same problem, I can't use WiFi and Bluetooth anymore. Did anyone have contact with Sony?
Same issue here
my xperia m4 aqua e2306 used to be in a boot-loop, i manage to fix the boot lop by installing a custom firmware but now, Wi-Fi and bluetooth aren't working..
Bluetooth sometimes turns on but the Wi fi doesn't , it just shows turning on but never turns on.
had someone fixed this issue?
