[Q] TWRP will not install on note3 -after kitkat 442 - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

I used to use TWRP but after update to KitKat 442, using Freeza's rom and the chain fire universal rooting method...TWRP will not reinstall and none of the other recoveries work either. Does anyone have a solution?

Read read read .... The rom will flash stock recovery back .... use Odin to flash twrp and uncheck auto restart. ... Or vol up home and power as soon as it says finished

[Q] anyone had a bootloop with no Samsung logo?

I flashed Devil kernel over my Paranoid Android 2.18 rom, and it booted into devil recovery, with lots of errors. It wouldn't let me flash my previous rom, so I restored a previous jb "boot" [recovery] from a nandroid [advanced restore], then it went into a bootloop.
I tried heimdall, flashing the cwm boot.img from the parandoid android rom [extracted from .zip], still got the recovery bootloop. Then I tried repartitioning with atlas2.2.pit, and thought I was out of the woods when it booted into cwm 6.x recovery.
Then I wiped data and flashed my PA rom again, and this time I had a black screen [yes I know it's hard to see a black screen on SAMOLED screens, but it was dark and I could see the screen coming on and off] bootloop. No SAMSUNG logo, just the screen turning off and on again.
Download mode didn't work until I took out the battery, so I'm gonna try Odin. only thing is I have to reboot into windows since I use linux, but I'm wondering if anyone knows what happened here?
lucky I have a recent TiBa..
If you booted into recovery you should have odined instead of trying too reflash cwm that's just gonna srew it more because its the kernel messing it up not the recovery. Any way get the full stock files for your device put them in Odin get the Atlas pit put it in there and check repartician and when its done flash it in Odin again with repartician not checked hope it works

Yeah I got it fixed by odining eh03 then CWM and flashing jb ROM..
The problem was I didn't have access to Odin right away so I was trying to fix it with cwm.

MJ7 Updated and rooted but no custom recovery! HELP

So, I updated to 4.3 using the newest method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2504408
However,
I kept root and everything works fantastic and removed KNOX. But...
I cant seem to flash any custom recovery. I tried Unistalling-Re-Installing SafeStrap (No Avail) When I hit reboot recovery it reboots into ODIN Download mode! I have no idea why.
I tried using Goo Manager and flashing TWRP. It says successful but again, when I rebooted into recovery (even using the button press method,. I still am sent to the ODIN download mode. What did I do wrong?
I tried the Loki Method but it says aboot version different or something.
I dont want to do anything to lose root access can anyone tell me how they got a custom recovery on 4.3 ota?

First: Wrong Forum
Second: Having root doesn't mean you can have a custom recovery.
There is no custom recovery. Safestrap isn't compatible...... yet. And the bootloader is locked.

Only MDK will allow a custom recovery or an unlocked bootloader. Once you went to MJ7 with the OTA, these are both gone.
can someone move my post to appropriate forum?
the above 2 are correct. there is no recovery available for 4.3. all we have is the ability to keep root.
Share with us a screen shot of your phone.. When you boot into Odin does it say 0x0 or 0x1

Never use an ota update if root and recovery are important to you.
Safestrap has not been updated for 4.3

Uncheck auto reboot flash twrp in Odin and then boot into twrp ... Don't let the rom boot first it will flash the stock recovery when it boots .... Boot immediately into recovery

Which version of TWRP are you trying to flash? Only the version located in the leaked build works with the KK Bootloader.

Always. It's a recovery bootloop, and can recur multiple times.
Oftentimes the recovery you're using could be the one intended for Jellybean. What is the filename of the recovery you flashed? It should be TWRP (or Philz) designated specifically for 4.4.2.

Bless you micmars.
I can update later when home with the exact filename. I believe it was from the link rlmiller posted in the Sacs rom thread. Perhaps it was merely a bad download.
No worries. It appears that the third battery pull was the needed loving touch. I was finally able to get back into Odin and re-flash TWRP.
However, I am a bit wary of booting into recovery now.
The loop occurred after attempting a Boot Recovery from within Goomanager.
Regardless thanks so much for the swift reply.
How

I am in the same boat. I have tried pulling the battery started with Volume up and down with and without the home button. All I get is that red android with his patch mocking me. Thanks for your help in advance. I acan't seem to find away out of the loop. Finally got out of loop . Thanks for being so positive. That "always" answer did it for me three times and it finally worked after a day of trying

Can I Switch between cm/aosp roms and stock roms without recovery switch on 757?

Look above at question
Sent from my C6833 using Tapatalk
You can go back to Stock without recovery (in fact recovery is not used to flash a FTF stock img), but if you have a custom rom then you have recovery. You need recovery to flash a custom rom, well I lie you could do it with adb but it would take about 3 hours and lots coffee.
I asked that very poorly...i was on a stock loaded 757(dual twrp/cwm) and flashed paranoid android which had used cwm for recovery.. I did not take a nandroid in cwm, only a nandroid in twrp..where can I get a zip to flash in cwm to change the recovery to twrp:?

I think all the AOSP ROMs are using cwm at the moment, Slim kernel/ROM might use twrp? I know Revilution kernel had both that can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548092, note that this kernel is too old to boot any current ROMs but will allow you to get into twrp to use the nandroid
Flash with flashtool or fastboot (see op of thread).
I'm not used to the recoveries being attached to the kernel or the ROM.

I like to flip flop between the stock rom and aosp ( usually bundled with CWM ) but the recovery image(dual boot) to use twrp is a pain in the butt to flash if I'm not around a computer .. Is there a simple way to turn an image into a flashable zip? Looks like I could use the GPe recovery to flash.
Sent from my C6833 using Tapatalk
It is not always the case when you have to flash recovery each time you flash a new rom for example you can flash monx which is stock build and from there you can flash every rom aokp cm etc (did that and had no issue) you can come back to stock any time you want from any recovery problem is that some custom roms use recoveries which is ported from Z1 which are ok if you flash a stock rom but for aosp you have to flash another recovery .........
I was making nandroids in cwm and twrp but this takes a lot of room up.

Flashify can be used to flash IMGs on the go, but I've never used it myself. It does work according to someone (don't remember) with an Ultra.

I switch between cm and stock on the fly. I have full backups of both and simply do a restore to the other and I'm fine.

I think I'm going to stick with cwm.. I'm having troubles saving and restoring nandroids with twrp. Just yesterday I couldn't make a back up through TWRP.. It would tell me that backup failed.
