Ok, I got this phone with MDK bootloader, CWM, and cm10.2 on it. Had to go to TW and flashed hyper drive with kt kernel to enable diag mode to flash to page plus, and then I attempted to flash a handful of aosp roms and all of them wouldn't boot, said non factory samsung firmware, so..... Rebooted recovery and restored tw, will I not be able to enjoy aosp ever again now? :'(

Have you tried an odin full wipe?
That's what I'd try, but make sure to use the MDK tar, otherwise you'll lock your bootloader.

I'd try downloading an updated Philz Recovery. You probably just need an updated recovery of some sort.
If that doesn't fix this then Odin stock MDK root it, then install an updated recovery. You'll be able to flash whatever you like.
Also look into using Flashify from the play store to install an updated recovery, lot of people are having issues with Goo/ROM Manager for whatever reason.

So, I updated to 4.3 using the newest method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2504408
However,
I kept root and everything works fantastic and removed KNOX. But...
I cant seem to flash any custom recovery. I tried Unistalling-Re-Installing SafeStrap (No Avail) When I hit reboot recovery it reboots into ODIN Download mode! I have no idea why.
I tried using Goo Manager and flashing TWRP. It says successful but again, when I rebooted into recovery (even using the button press method,. I still am sent to the ODIN download mode. What did I do wrong?
I tried the Loki Method but it says aboot version different or something.
I dont want to do anything to lose root access can anyone tell me how they got a custom recovery on 4.3 ota?

First: Wrong Forum
Second: Having root doesn't mean you can have a custom recovery.
There is no custom recovery. Safestrap isn't compatible...... yet. And the bootloader is locked.
Sent from my NCC 1701 using Tapatalk 4
Only MDK will allow a custom recovery or an unlocked bootloader. Once you went to MJ7 with the OTA, these are both gone.
can someone move my post to appropriate forum?
the above 2 are correct. there is no recovery available for 4.3. all we have is the ability to keep root.
Share with us a screen shot of your phone.. When you boot into Odin does it say 0x0 or 0x1

Never use an ota update if root and recovery are important to you.
Safestrap has not been updated for 4.3

If you want CWM why cant you just install ROM manager and install CMW from there? CWM should install and replace TWRP with CWM.
Edit: and if that doesn't work I posted a link to MDK stock restore method in this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49349378 Hope this helps.

If you have an MDK version with custom recovery and 4.3 installed then yes it will bring it back to MDK stock unrooted wiped. I've used it a couple times to get a clean start and rerooted.
Here's the same link to stock restore http://www.sxtpdevelopers.com/showthread.php?t=237

Yes your basically flashing stock firmware via Odin and bringing your device back to MDK the way it was when you bought it. It wipes everything.

You can't install CWM through ROM manager? It should override TWRP.

Uncheck auto reboot flash twrp in Odin and then boot into twrp ... Don't let the rom boot first it will flash the stock recovery when it boots .... Boot immediately into recovery

Which version of TWRP are you trying to flash? Only the version located in the leaked build works with the KK Bootloader.

So I used ROM manager to install CWM recovery 6.x.x.x on a brand new, fresh stock install. The app says that CWM is installed on my system. Yet when I boot into recovery it takes me to the Android System Recovery 3e. Any ideas what's going on?
Edit: I have root access.

Try using Flashify from the Play Store to flash a recovery. For some reason there's been issues with ROM Manager and many have gotten by this by using Flashify from what I've seen.
ROM manager may not be Lokifying the recovery or something I'm not entirely sure. Something going on there though

Look above at question

You can go back to Stock without recovery (in fact recovery is not used to flash a FTF stock img), but if you have a custom rom then you have recovery. You need recovery to flash a custom rom, well I lie you could do it with adb but it would take about 3 hours and lots coffee.
I asked that very poorly...i was on a stock loaded 757(dual twrp/cwm) and flashed paranoid android which had used cwm for recovery.. I did not take a nandroid in cwm, only a nandroid in twrp..where can I get a zip to flash in cwm to change the recovery to twrp:?

I think all the AOSP ROMs are using cwm at the moment, Slim kernel/ROM might use twrp? I know Revilution kernel had both that can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548092, note that this kernel is too old to boot any current ROMs but will allow you to get into twrp to use the nandroid
Flash with flashtool or fastboot (see op of thread).
I'm not used to the recoveries being attached to the kernel or the ROM.
Sent from my C6833 using Tapatalk
I like to flip flop between the stock rom and aosp ( usually bundled with CWM ) but the recovery image(dual boot) to use twrp is a pain in the butt to flash if I'm not around a computer .. Is there a simple way to turn an image into a flashable zip? Looks like I could use the GPe recovery to flash.
Sent from my C6833 using Tapatalk
It is not always the case when you have to flash recovery each time you flash a new rom for example you can flash monx which is stock build and from there you can flash every rom aokp cm etc (did that and had no issue) you can come back to stock any time you want from any recovery problem is that some custom roms use recoveries which is ported from Z1 which are ok if you flash a stock rom but for aosp you have to flash another recovery .........
I was making nandroids in cwm and twrp but this takes a lot of room up.
Sent from my C6833 using Tapatalk
Flashify can be used to flash IMGs on the go, but I've never used it myself. It does work according to someone (don't remember) with an Ultra.

I think I'm going to stick with cwm.. I'm having troubles saving and restoring nandroids with twrp. Just yesterday I couldn't make a back up through TWRP.. It would tell me that backup failed.
