Hello, just got the Thunderbolt coming from Samsung Vibrant. I've rooted and flashed deodexed stock rom, etc.
I want to install the AOSP File Manager and have placed the apk in System/App. I've checked all the permissions and rebooted multiple times but the app still doesn't show up in the app drawer? This worked on the Vibrant, not sure if something is different here?
Thanks for any help.
Weird but I figured it out. The file was named "File Manager -Copy.apk". For some reason didn't notice it. Deleted -Copy and it works fine.
Hi Guys, This is my first thread here. I'm new to Android and flashing custom ROM's. I've recently bought Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-i9300 (International version). I used Siyah kernel for Dual-Booting FoxHound along with Stock ROM. I really liked FoxHound because of improved performance, beats audio etc. I've decided to flash FoxHound as only ROM on my device but I fear that it will also remove the stock samsung apps which I really find useful.

Is there any way to get these apps on FoxHound? Sorry I couldn't find any similar post here that's why I'm asking
You could use root explorer, copy them to your sdcard and install on your new rom. Should work fine if they don't have any other dependancies.

you need to copy them to /system/app
as long as it's a Sammy ROM, it should work
I tried that but when I copy SMemo files to system/apps using root explorer it says that the files are copied successfully but they don't... Any solution for this I guess it has something to do with the permissions

Still Not Working...
The SMemo.apk's permissions are (rw-rw-r) and to move it to system/apps the permissions should be (rw-r-r). When I change the permissions they still look unchanged...
Are you sure you've given root access to root explorer...try changing the permissions with chmod command.

I've edited their permission to rw--r--r (0644) but the apps says 'Changing Permissions was not successful. Please note that some file systems do not allow permission changes.'
Update: Thank you guys, I've figured it out and now its working. Can you please tell me After moving S Memo files to System/apps should i install them manually?

After moving S Memo.apk to system/apps I did a reboot and the app was installed automatically. When I open app it functions normally but after a few seconds it freezes and then a pop up says 'Unfortunately SMemo has stopped working'. This happens every time Any Fix?

I was saying that launching the apk manually won't install it.
Try clearing its data and make sure it's from the same firmware version

I downloaded S Memo apk for 4.1.2 JellyBean from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1969991 and that worked like charm. Thanks
I'm also looking for Stock Music Player, I downloaded apk from same link but it is not working. Again it gives a pop up saying 'Unfortunately Music player has stopped'. I tried clearing data several times but no luck. Any solution?
I have S3 GT-i9300 / FoxHound v1.6 / Android v4.1.2 JellyBean
For some strange reason the 'Auto-update apps over Wi-Fi' was enabled in the new Play Store update. I hope this is not the default action of the new Play Store cuz I didn't enable it. I noticed yesterday that my Google Wallet app updated without me knowing. I'm rooted on Mean-Bean's ROM so now I get the unsupported device message. I've uninstalled v16 and reinstalling the v13 patched apk but it 'failed'. Tried reinstalling it with an update.zip. The apk is there in data/app but not installed. Any suggestions?
Remove the update from data/app. Reboot. Put patched apk in system/app. Reboot. *should* work.

:\ Didn't work. The apk was originally in data/app/. Guess I'll wait for the patched v16
Ok, when i try to install flappybird apk it says: app not installed. i have never installed this yet i just got my brand new nexus 7 today. Help Please.
I've had an issue with this in the past from a different app. If you've tried different apk files and are still getting the same issue. Then push the apk to your device change it to the correct permission then restart your device.

While using titanium i clicked on the wrong apk to uninstall. Does anybody have the network setting apk? ( says something like lge.networksettings ) or a zip file containing the stock LG dialer and all supporting files? Thanks in advance.
