Thanks man! Works perfect now!
Also guys @jmz has not worked in the fixes for exfat support on external SD cards. Only fat32 right now. Should not be too long before it's fixed.

On the ported TWRP version 2.6.3.3 compression works just fine! And it seems to be more stable (less quirky) than the 2.7.x.x versions. The only thing that doesn't work on 2.6.3.3 is the external sdcard.

What recovery are you using? TWRP doesn't yet have that feature implemented....although toastcfh said that it would be implemented in a future iteration.
CWM has the feature I believe, but I have read of 2 or more people's phone being bricked after attempting to partition the sd card. It had some glitch/bug/error where it actually formatted the emmc or something like that.
I put my card in my Evo4G and used Amon Ra to partition my card. I'm not sure what else to use, I think there's a program called g-parts or something to use on the PC that will do the job.
Hello,
Everytime I want to use my camera it tells me my phone doesn't have an SD card inserted (which I do, and it's fully functional)
This problem originally occurred after flashing UltimaROM when my internal was swapped with my external.
The ROM used to be great but it was ridiculously buggy and was almost at an unusable state for me.
I've flashed LiquidSmooth now and everything is great, apart from this issue.
I've looked on Google and people with similar issues are saying it's corrupt but it still functions fine.
Also, when uninstalling apps I get this message (it still uninstalls though)
I have attached a picture using Tapatalk so not sure on how the picture will be displayed.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

In regards to the 2nd part, see here:

As for SD, I would recommend formatting the card (backup first) and do a full wipe (megawipe?) to clear down completely before reflashing your rom.
I don't have the framework installer setting in my "Interface" tab. Also, even with the external sd card dismounted the camera doesn't work. Or could this be an internal memory problem?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
It sounds like a permissions issue and a full wipe and format before reflash I suspect will fix it.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4
I have tried that, it didn't work
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Full wipe didn't work? Try another rom. If not, look for the camera update thread if not, return 100% stock if not, send for repair
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4
I don't know why but I think the emulated folder is the problem, I think this was created when my internal and external was swapped around as I don't remember it being there before.
I've tried another camera app and it takes pictures but doesn't save them
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Emulated comes from when you go to 4.2.2
Megawipe should have deleted everything on your internal sd.....
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4
Oops, I guess I haven't megawiped then. Got the correct zip now off these forums that does it for me. Can I go ahead and do the Megawipe despite being rooted on a custom ROM?
Thanks
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Yes you can. It just wipes per the thread. One of them formats your internal sd and thats what you want. Backup to pc first though.

Its also worth doing the one that formats system too. So have a rom and titanium backup on external sd card. You're going to have to reflash if you do this one
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4
Stupid question, was just making sure. Guess it's the same as wiping everything before flashing a new ROM
Everything now works great, thank you so much! Also nice to have a fresh start on my internal memory.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
It is the same except via custom recovery it doesn't wipe internal sd...
Did you use the factory reset zip or did you use another too?

I used the MegaWipe
So I accidently did a TWRP backup to internal storage. According to setting then storage I have 5gb of misc being used. But for the life of my I can't the backup to delete it. internal sd card then twrp only has a 7kb size file. I even went to twrp and cleared internal storage. under storage I still have 5gb plus of files using up my space. any suggestions?
anyone?

If you haven't renamed anything, it should simply be on the root of your internal sd card. Try searching for 'twrp' while you are on your internal with ES.

I have used root explorer and there is nothing on the internal card that is visible. the os still thinks I have 5gb of misc files there. but I find only a couple megs.

Are you on 4.1.2 or 4.3? And if you're on 4.3, did you wipe internal memory when upgrading?

Yes I am using 4.3. I did wipe internal card but the 5gb of misc is still present.

Hmm, seems odd that a reformat of the internal sd card wouldn't take care of that. Personally I'd probably back up to external card and format internal again, possibly with a different recovery if twrp is still causing issues for you.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
if I click on the 5gb misc section only some folders with kb of info I just recleared internal storagr again. and it is still the same.
Pretty sure you're OK after looking at that. Miscellaneous files include all system and app data once uncompressed. Mine is also in the mid 5.5 gb range.
Edit: if anyone else wants to weigh in that would be helpful to get another person's sd card size for misc.

Why can't I back up to my sd card?? When I try Twrp says NO or just restarts recovery. Any suggestions??

What version are you running? I did the - x.x.x.3 and was able to backup to SD Card just fine yesterday. Although I used a temporary boot to preserve stock recovery to perform it although that shouldn't make a difference. I know some people have been talking about the format of the SD Card, apparently exFAT is no good but please look into that more before taking my word for it.

If your ext sd card is 64+ gig, it is likely formatted exfat which does not work with TWRP 2.7.x.x
In this case you'll need to remove the card and format in a PC with a third party utility that forces a fat32 format.
I'm looking for some help transferring back ups from device to device.
Both are M8 ATT
I have the back ups on external SD and while they show up on the backed up device, they don't show up on the other device.
What am I missing? I've never dealt with transferring back ups, but I think I have to change some coding?
Go into titanium settings on new device and change location of backup folder to external.

So you recommend using titanium for this process instead of TWRP?
Complete brain fart. Sorry. Can you not just go to restore from sd card in the menu of twrp

Have you tried moving the contents of the twrp backups from the external sd to the internal sd? Also, was the rom that was backed up a custom rom? My guess is that if it was, it enabled the read/write permissions to the external card which Kit Kat disables on stock roms. If that's the case, and your new phone is still stock, it can't restore from the external. If you're on a stock rom now, go flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2700310 to enable permissions and you should be good to go.
I'll try that.
Actually backed a up stock M8 and transferring to a gpe RUU I don't want.
Same as backing up stock before RUU but somehow it got wiped.
