[help] how to update to 757 - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

May I know how can I update from 681 to 757?
I have already unlocked, flashed the kernal and rooted.
I am using C6833 from Hong Kong.
Can anyone help me to solve this? I am just the first time using Sony so I know nothing about this.
Thank you very much.

Flash one of the FTF's for the c6833 with flashtoo (flash mode)
Flash chillychans's kernel (see jackie099's root .681 thread for link) flash with flashtool in fastboot mode
flash SuperSU updater from the new recovery

This does not belong in the Development Section, read the Forum Rules on posting....moved here.

Thanks for your reply.
May I know if this method is for a rooted 689 update to 757?
It seems a root method?
I want to get the latest 757 update and the root again...
Also, would you please provide the files that I need? I am not sure which files I need to use...
Thank you for your help!

How Can I revert Stock Rom?

I flashed to 4.0.1.A.0.283 Generic Global rom but now I want to revert to stock rom and I want root with easy way. What can I do?
Why using that old fw??
Flash .42 fw, and root it with DooMLoRD's Easy Rooting Toolkit.
Everything is in STICKY thread in development section.
Which is why I suggest you, first read sticky threads and other ones, then ask questions.

I tried to relock bootloader with this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1134335
Flashtool said flashing done and my phone worked. I checked but it says still unlock.

For Neo V
01.Flash to 0.42 fw using flashtool
02.Root and install CWM
03.Download this & install it with cwm, just install. No need to wipe anything
(If your boot loader is unlocked use this instead )
And you have rooted, cwm installed 0.62 fw
For Neo
01.Flash to 0.42 fw using flashtool
02.Root and install CWM
I cannot find a proper link like the Neo v one for Neo,I guess you have to unlock boot loader to root Neo in 0.62 fw.There is nothing much upgraded anyway in 0.62 comparing to 0.42.So no harm in staying 0.42.And next time please mention what phone do you own(Neo or Neo V ) please.
Anyway if u did little research before asking this I'm pretty sure you would've found the answer already in Neo V android development section mate.
My phone have unlock bootloader. that's why I can't flash an another fw. Because it can be brick.

I did understand if you did ota or flash, your phone could be brick. So Can I flash .42 fw now?

OTA can brick your phone, but flash shouldn't. Why I say shouldn't? Because if you follow instructions everything will be ok. Follow link I gave you, and flash .42 fw with flahtool.

You dont have to relock the bootloader...just download flashtool...ftf file of stock .62 firmware...install adb drivers and flash the ftf you downloaded via flashtool...everything is available in the development section.

Just find .ftf and flash it with falshtool, both are even in dev sections.

[help] Any way to root Gingerbread 4.0.2.A.0.62 having an UNLOCKED bootloader? help

I feel lost now. Too much forum search, lots of threads that lead nowhere, methods that don't work.
I want to have Gingerbread 4.0.2.A.0.62 rooted. My phone state today, is descripted in my signature.
I'm on version 58, rooted and with bootloader UNLOCKED and using Rage Kernel.
I can't upgrade OTA becase the bootlader stuff - but I can't Flashtool 4.0.2.A.0.62 either, because the processs makes me loses root.
Why?
I did this before. I Had version 62, downgraded to 58, rooted then flashed 62 and everthiing was ok: 62 rooted and everything ok - but then, I had a locked bootloader.
Is the unlocked bootloader the problem here? (done by the official way). Any way to revert it? There is a post where they called "Relock bootloader" - doesn't work on my Sony.
I think I'm gonna cry
any help will be much appreaciated - please forgive my English :crying:
EDIT : sorry, wrong post, please delete
Flash 0.62, then install any pre-rooted kernel. No need to cry.

OTA update to 6.1.A.2.45 for rooted Xperia S with unlocked bootloader

I have a rooted Xperia S with unlocked bootloader, by following instructions on this thread.
Today I received a notification about OTA update to 6.1.A.2.45 (40MB in size) and I was wondering if I can apply this update without loosing root. I really did search for an answer on the forum before making this post and couldn't find anything specific for my phone, but what I did found only confused me more, which is to be expected since I am a noob. Apparently it worked for some users of Xperia Play with unlocked bootloader, but on the other hand some users of Xperia Arc S say that bootloader should be locked when making an OTA update.
I would really appreciate any help from more experienced members, I'm new in Android and don't want to start by bricking my phone.
Thank you for your time and effort.
Boom
better dont, you will end up with a bricked device. NEVER accept OTA updates if your bootloader is unlocked.
Don't update with PCC when you're unlocked.
Wow, that was fast! Thank you guys.
hi, did you find how to update?

i also have an open bootloader although not root, but i tried updating using the phone's OTA and PCC and neither worked. I promptly realized it might just be the open bootloader which is keeping me from updating, so how do we manually update? if you have any procedures will highly appreciate anyone..... thanks in advance

Hmmm,
Slightly different scenario here.
I have a rooted xperia S with a locked bootloader and obviously want to preserve root.
Previous experience tells me that a PC update from SEUS does a full wipe of the phone and looses root however OTA updates usually preserve root. I was hoping somebody could clarify if this is still the case?
Thanks
if your bootloaders unlocked you cant update ota or via seus. it will just give an error about your device being modified

I've not been on much recently at all so I could be wrong, but I'm sure it's been said that you can flash ROM such as the linked one when bootloader is locked and perhaps the pre-rooted one too. May need to search the thread.
Nothing out there that allows me to root my Xperia S on ICS without wiping my data though I think. One can wait... or dream. :[

Yeah having too wipe at this point is a bummer. If I'm going to wipe my phone ill wait for the ability to unlock my locked bootloader.
Problem with that is I will most likely have a new phone by then.

You will likely be waiting some time, because it's possible to downgrade and flash pre-rooted zip or to OTA certain FW's maintaining root, I don't see devs putting a lot of effort into finding an exploit. That said best hope is probably an exploit being found for Z3 which is transferable to Z2, but as I say you may be waiting some time.

Try to create a rooted update package from the update ftf: [4.4.4] Create ROOTED update package from stock FTF [LOCKED BOOTLOADER]
So I need to flash dual recovery to do that
How can I make a full stock backup just in case I need to use it for warranty?

You don't need, you can flash back an original ftf anytime or repair with Sony PC Companion. We are talking locked bootloadr, so until you don't unlock it, you have warranty.
But if you already have root on prev. firmware, you should install DualRecovery and boot into TWRP and you can backup your system there.

Yes, if you have older firmware on the phone, you can try the root options available and you can use recovery without unlocking th bootloader. If you have the latest, than you can possibly flash an older firmware to your phone and root that. But you need to read a bit, to understand everything correctly.
I have successfully rooted my Z2 on 4.4.4 locked bootloader
