[Q][URGENT]Battery going crazy - HTC One X+

ok ok i got my one x+ for a few months now, unlocked, twrp recovery on viperx+ 2.0.3
so my phones plugged to the wall charger... charging while i was browsing XDA... and suddenly i saw on the one x+ forums that there is some weird battery problem...
TWRP shows 66 percent of battery while my Phone itself shows only 51 also my Phone goes rapidly from 14 to 0 percent
the volume up+down+power for 2 minutes in the wall charger while Phone FULLY powered off (fast startup disabled) didnt work, i tried it for 5 minutes and gave up
its making me crazy since i cant play a game properly anymore, any suggestions? any way to calibrate battery with a terminal command or something?

got the same problem with the 14%->off and the different battery percentages in recovery and system.
i tried everything but the battery was broken.
best thing is to replace the battery.
the batterylife increased from maybe 8h to over 30h

it's NORMAL
TWRP is slow at updating the % it takes around 1-2minutes for it to show the correct % and if you are charging in recovery it will still take 1-2minutes then it will show a current % and a +
and ALL x+'s fly down from 14% to 0%
ALSO battery calibration is a myth.

Well ok then ill live with it :d
any way how to update openssl 1.0.1c? i want 1.0.1g on it -_- since this one is affected and i actually care about my passwords being leaked

[Q] Battery Fully Charged Notifications?

Does Galaxy Ace shows a notification when battery is fully charged ? Yesterday I got a new Ace, I kept it for charging for around 3-4hrs.. The battery indicator shows the battery full, but notification on the homescreen(when its locked) showed its charging..
How am I suppose to understand its fully charged..?
Yes, normally a notification should appear when the battery is fully charged!
How much hours does it take to fully charge if the battery is around 5%?
The battery isn't fully charged until you don't get a notification (both sound and green icon on the top-left corner). That's even if you see the indicator showing 100%
Wow..my battery is still blue.. in the right hand corner.. How long does it takes to fully charge?
Depending on ROM / mods, your battery icon may look different. But a notification should show up after around 3 hours.

Well that depends, wether you're charging via USB or the wall-charger (I don't really know the name of that thing xD )
USB charging requires more time, I've tried and it took me about 4-5 hours to full charge the phone.
Tapatalked from my Noirette III
Ok..Last nite... I charged for 3-4 hrs.. but didnt get any notification..maybe I will try it today..Is it ok to leave it on charge over-nite? Maybe 6-7 hrs after a full deplete..?
Have you tried to reflash your ROM? There's maybe something wrong within the kernel.
And about charging overnight... I doubt that's a safe thing to do..
Used to charge my old phone overnight everytime and now it's battery depleted within 4 hours after a full charge.
Tapatalked from my Noirette III
well, certainly not on froyo. probably only ginger has it in-built-i get it on galaxy s (ginger) but not on Ace (froyo).
Hey!
You can charge it over night. And it shows notification in home screen CHARGED!
CHEERS!
@rhadrio I havent re flashed it..just got it yesterday.
I guess the battery nowadays have no -ve effect, if we over charge them.. ? Any one can confirm this?

Of course its NOT good, if you OVER CHARGE it every time. And for correcting battery stats, you need to calibrate it(you must be ROOTED, before use BATTERY CALIBRATOR[free from MARKET]). But still I suggest to use it(BATTERY CALIBRATOR) only if you get too fastley drain you battery(I mean, if you see that you battery getting worst or similar).
CHEERS!
I haven't rooted it yet. I will charge it overnite today & lets see if its works better tomorrow..
Batteries now have built-in overcharging prevention. No worries.
XDA ♥
Well.. I kept it over nite.. In the morning I saw a notification on the phone as "Charged", but I am not sure how many hours did it take to charge it.
I dont know about battery issue aftr overnight charging.....but i used to charge my 5800 overnight daily, i used 2 and hlf years but nothing happend to batry or batry back up...
and if u charge yor ACE with AC charger it will take min 4 hours as our chargers are 0.7A
and if u charge with USB ur cell will get completly charged in half time compared to AC charger

...nope! usb is 500 mA (0.5 A) max - in best case, depending on mode etc. so AC charger is faster as it's 0.7 A. max 3-4 hrs here on ac.

[Q] new battery reading wrong

i got a new non official battery for my atrix its 1800mah...
it charges to 100% but drops to 5% in a matter of hours of light browsing and a few games...the thing is it stays @ 5% for a long time, my battery was on 15 hours and it was @ 5% for about 12 hours
ive tried to calibrate it, but im not sure if it does it right, i downloaded a battery widget that says i have not calibrated it yet...this is not my first android as ive had plenty but this is the first phone that the battery has acted like this
also i actually have got 2 of those batterys but 1 doesnt catch charge i put it on the phone and the charge screens show 5% and charging but then stops charging after a few minutes and doesnt have enough juice to turn the phone on
Try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1198333
Instead of the calibration app suggested in the link I just used CWM to clear battery stats, and *#*#4636#*#* to check if the battery is at full capacity.
im not rooted currently, so ill try the steps except for the jug6ernaut
thanks
Just so you know, the jug6ernaut files are actually what fixes a known battery jump issue with GB. So even if you successfully recalibrate your battery it will most likely still jump around whenever you reboot your phone. For example, you may reboot at 90%, and when it restarts all of a sudden it's showing 100%.

[Q] Truth about Battery Display after flashing custom ROMS

Hi XDA,
Ive been getting alotta help from you, great developers, and had this question
that dont think has been solved yet. (I searched for 2 days)
So my current situation is;
Im running the latest energy rom (sense 3.0) with stock kernel, (as it was recommended on the post).
After flashing custom roms, beats audio and etc via ADB, i believe my
battery stat display is not normal.
It would take at least 90~120minutes to reach 100% from 99%.
And sometimes even if I have the charger hooked up to the phone
it would still drop to 99% from 100.
I have two batteries (Stock and Anker) and tested them both.
It looks like no matter how long i charge it, as long as i have 100% or 99%
on the battery, it takes around 12minutes and 13seconds screen-on time to drain 10% of the battery. Which it was way less than i expected.
but after dropping around 68~63%, the battery seems to last longer on each
percent points.
On top of that, I think my phone is not charging anymore when I turn to power off. I can feel the phones gone cold and not charging, but the orange light is always on and never turns green for some reason.
So my question is:
IS THERE ANY SOLUTION (LIKE BATTERY CALIBRATION THAT ACTUALLY WORKS?) TO THIS? IVE READ SO MANY THREADS ABOUT THIS BUT NOTHING IS GIVING ANYBODY A CLEAR ANSWER.
I have the same problem as you. I'm on Sense 3.5 RC1.6. Infact I just restarted my amaze in hboot mode and then back into normal. My battery went from 10% to 60%. Then after like 15 minutes of usage it went back down to 10%. Also my battery drains to almost dead at about ~3 hours of screen time with moderate-heavy usage.
have you guys fully charged it ? gone into advanced in Clockworkmod and deleted battery stats?
i havent hacked my amaze but when i had my g2x after every flash i would charge teh battery to 100% then wipe battery stats x2 and then let the battery drain to 0 percent. then it should give you accurate readings
I did that but I used Battery Calibrator app from market. 2 times and discharge to 100%. Also how long should the battery last on average?
I'm runnign stock, it lasts me a day, but depends on usage. I text alot, some calls, twitter facebook, a lot of music, some FML, and some camera lasts me all day, (i charge in the morning so it lasts me a full 24 hour cycle)
Hmm seems as if my battery drains pretty fast. I timed it with medium-low brightness just leaving the screen on, with 3g and music. I get 1% per 3 minutes on. No auto-sync or background data either.
as most of people usually say i should fully drain my battery and charge til 100%,
im doing that right now.
My phone got shut off during my jelly defense stage 13 session
and plugged the phone but it didnt turn on for like 10 minutes.
so i kinda freaked out that the clockworkmod recovery that i have right now
does not support charging when the phone is not awake, but i guess the charging is really slow since i have finally turned on my phone.
im just gonna let it sit on my side table charging, and ill prolly fall asleep..
cuz im definitely not in the mood to watch LeBron James' face tonight.
I will let you guys know.
Thanks.

i hear you.
but after searching several threads about HTC AMAZE's bad battery life,
im slowly being convinced that 3 hours of screen time doesnt sound really that
bad. lol
mine just died around 2 hrs 45 min screen time while the phone was up without a charge for 14 hours. well i guess if i start using the phone nonstop after a full charge, then maybe ill get 3 hours or more.... but still...its only 3 hours...

Once it`s charged make sure you flash 5.5.0.4 recovery. Using the toolkit makes that easy.

ive overheard from someone that 5.5.0.4 is causing bootloops when flashing
other roms, but did you have any problem with this?

[Q] Battery is burning FAST !

First of all it wouldnt charge past 99%, And then, after one hour of standby it went down to 88%!!
Cm7 official stable release.
Me too no pass 99% :S
Try to download a "battery caliberation" app and do that, also burn it to 0% and charge to 100% while the phone is off..i heard that this might help.
Now i will flash Nottachtrix and do what i wrote Good luck man !

The charging thing is something that is (seemingly) well known throughout the community. I have tried to do the calibration, but it doesn't seem to work that well (at least for me). There is a thread around here somewhere for fixing the issue. I just have never tried it due to work reasons.
The charging past 99% is a known issue with most of the ROMs. There is a thread in here that takes you step by step to get it to display 100%. Basically....
Charge the phone long enough to where you know it should be at 100% even though it is still displaying 99%.
Power the phone off while it is still connected to the charger and then pull the battery.
With the battery pulled, power the phone back on until you see the battery indicator with the "?".
Put the battery back in and reboot.
You will then see the display of 100% with the phone still connected to the charger. The only downside is that as soon as you disconnect the charger, it will drop back to 99%. I have done this multiple times.
You can try the latest nightly: update-cm-7-20120508-NIGHTLY-olympus-signed.zip
I read good things about it.
First of all, use Wipe Battery Stats function at recovery.
1 - Discharge all your smartphone battery;
2 - Connect it to the wall charger and don't turn it on;
3 - Wait till it shows you 100%;
4 - Remove the battery, wait 10 seconds, put it again and keep it turned off;
5 - Wait 30 minutes, keep it connected to the wall charger and press power button till it turns on;
6 - Wait 30 minutes, keep it connected to the wall charger and use Battery Calibration App to calibrate it;
It doesn't make any sense, but sometimes, after step 5, i prefer connect it to usb port in a laptop or computer and wait one hour. It always worked with me.
It might solve your problem .
Wiping battery stats does nothing. it just takes a few charge cycles. If it's a new rom and it's draining fast it's also cause you are probably playing with it a lot

It could be a bluesleep problem... Install CPU Spy App and look if it goes into deep sleep mode. If not, there is a fix for it.
Aside from the OP's issue with the battery draining quickly, why does it matter if it doesn't show 100%?
Nothing can ever 'really' be 100% charged because as soon as you take it off mains it is instantly on the battery at lets say 99.9999%...
As long as the battery doesn't drain quickly I couldn't care less if its showing 99 or 100%.
The problem was that it was draining very quickly to smt like 50% and then it would hold longer...I just wiped everything, restored a neutrino 2.7 nandroid backup i had, flashed the jug fix v2 and now it shows 100%

S3 on JB not charging

Hi guys,
I've installed the latest official JB ROM and everything is fine.
However when i have the phone connected to the same power adapter and cable I normally use, the phone just doesn't charge.
Battery settings shows charging as AC, red LED is on etc.
But the percentage just hasn't moved from 51% in over an hour of charge.
Any ideas on this as it was fine on ICS LH1.
It is probably recharging, Just reboot the phone and look at the percentage again.
PS, this belongs in the Q&A
Sorry, can it be moved.
I just rebooted and it showed 50%.
A few minutes later and it's showing 49%

Don't worry about what it says on the screen. Power off the phone and plug it in so it charges quick. Unplug it when the LED is green.
OK, about to leave work so I'll try that at home.
But the % on the front was always accurate before.
Is this a bug with JB or something?
Installed wanam LIB last night. I woke up this morning after my phone has been on the charger all night and it was only showing 96%. Seems like the charging behavior, or at least the battery reporting, has been changed.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
I turned it off for 10 minutes while charging and it went from 47% to 48%.
really hoping this will fix itself with a charge to 100% while off.

yes it happened to me too. i woke up to see my phone at 7%, and i hooked it up with 15%
i'm sure i played with the charging speed while i had siyah kernel, i guess this might be the reason

Same Problem here!
Charged last night (8 hours - poweradapter) and it went from 68% to only 80 %.
... but if i charge it via PC (USB 2.0 Port) it charges normal and really quick.
I'm on DLIB (fresh install with full wipe/dalvik etc).
Don't worry about what it displays. After 1 bettery cycle it will show accurate information. If you're charging your phone and the percentage drops it means that it hasn't calibrated the battery charge information. Just use it as you would and after 1 or 2 days you will see an accurate display of battery percentage.
