Hello everyone, today unfortunately I burned the headphone output of my s2. Most probably by mistake and for a moment I sent 12v output.
Now connect the headset, the phone recognizes them but they do not emit any sound.
According to you which component you are burned out and should be replaced?
Should replace this: www[dot]ebay.com/itm/Headphone-Jack-Vibration-Motor-Microphone-Assembly-for-Galaxy-S-II-i9100-/281140392763?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item417545 ?
Find the service manuals; they have parts lists & run throughs of the most common repairs with pics. They've been posted here from time to time, a search should throw them up, if not a Google search will find them elsewhere.

Thanks, I found the manual here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-gt-i9100-service-t2324414
So if I change that piece I solve the problem?
Nobody here is going to tell you that everything will be OK.....we haven't got your phone in front of us to examine......
That one fault *could* have caused a "cascade" of other faults within the phone......
Replacing that one module could solve the problem, and you should consider yourself extremely lucky if it does.......
Higher than intended voltage applied to sensitive micro electronics is never a good combo.....

Just what I thought, too, because that piece is really just the physical input of the headset, right?
I do not think even I depend on that, I think it burned a few pic, you have no idea what it might be?
No mate....I really can't tell.....
Nobody here can.....
Replace the module and see......best advice you're going to get.

okay come on, now I try to replace it and hope for the best.
I just purchased the parts from ebay.
Are you familiar with how to take an S2 apart? If not, look for a series of videos on YouTube by a guy called LE55ONS......he's posted a really good one showing a step by step procedure for taking an S2 apart......
Edit......here is a guide I wrote.....

in it you will find a direct link to that video.......

Hello guys, last night I saw the headphones of my galaxy and tried to reconnect and functioned normally, I tried to connect it to the speakers of the PC and it worked anyway.
I do not know what happened, but the fact is that for 5 days headphone output did not work then resumed normal operation without me to do anything, in fact I'm still waiting for the replacement part that I picked up on ebay.
Okay, better so thank you also for the help! :good:

Hi,
I recently replaced my usb flex cable, and my signal has been very weak ever since. I have tried loosening the screws and removing the small wire (aerial) and putting it back on, but my signal is still very very poor. Has anyone else had this problem after disassembly?
It may not be relevant but i'll mention it anyway. The screwdriver I used had a slight magnetic charge, just enough to pick up the screws. Could this have damaged something?
I'm on O2 UK and have tried other O2 aims, but to no avail. I have also tried my sim in other phones and signal improves greatly. I noticed it instantly after reassembling the phone so whatever has changed, happened during the course of replacing the usb flex cable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks
Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing the signal to be so consistently weak? Would it be worth replacing the wire antenna?
I have taken this apart and put it back together countless times, trying to see if there was a loose connection etc, but have had no luck so far. I even put a bit of folded tinfoil between the usb flex cable and the contact under the battery to try and help the connection. I've completely run out of ideas.

I think you just disrupt the antenna. Sending it to a customer service repairs should be a good choice

As I bought it from Ebay IE, I have no warranty, so will have to pay to have it repaired. i was hoping to have a go myself, however there doesn't seem to be an awful lot of information out there regarding this problem. I have found a replacement antenna for £3 so I might try that, however I'm not sure that is the problem as the antenna looks in good condition and was only disconnected briefly.
Edit: Oh and thanks for the reply

I'll probably have to take it to my local electronic repair shop as it is not under warranty. i was really hoping to avoid this as I'm not sure what they will charge :-/

Thanks, but it wasn't an app that caused the change, so I am reluctant to use an app to try and work around a proper fix.
Having read awful reviews for my local repair shop, I have just purchased a replacement antenna to try and repair it myself. It cost £3.00 so I'll fit it as soon as it arrives. If that doesn't work I will HAVE to take it to be repaired :-(

I had same problem as you.
After changing USB flex PCB my network signal just vanished.
Fortunately I found solution for my problem.
Problem was in slightly different PCBs and after unsoldering one SMD element my phone is back with strong signal.
Anyway here are the pictures:

How did you remove the SMD?
Magnetic screwdriver
Just FYI, magnetic screwdrivers do not cause any damage to electronic circuits and are generally safe to use.

Top man.......
Usb port broke so replaced it and had a very weak signal. after hours of checking everything, flashing roms, taking phone apart, 3 different usb boards and a massive headache. I followed your guide and now have strong signal again. Was nearlly at a point where phone was going to be scrapped. Thankyou

You are a life saver! I was about to trash my S2. I got it used with usb and sound problems for about 130 euro. Swapped parts but had crappy signal. The signal was bad before to which I also bought new antenna. Network signal never worked properly since acquiring the phone 2 weeks ago. Swapping modems never helped.
I still have the old USB board and it looks like exactly like the one I replaced. Thinking of the same thing you just did. Now my question to you, why didn't you remove the other SMD to make the boards match? I might try removing both on the old to compare signal levels.
Your info should be stickied!
Thanks again!
Tried that Trick but now I dont have any more signal at all...nowhere!
I have a second hand Galaxy S2 which was unlocked to all networks and randomly the phone would connect to driving mode. I used GoLauncher EX to delete Voice control but then it started showing that it was charging constantly. After a lot of research I found the problem was in the charging port.
I ordered a new charging port online and I've put it in instead of the old one and now the charging problem is gone, but now my phone gets no service on a Three UK sim, I'm quite sure it wasn't on Three UK to begin with.
Is it possible that changing the charging port might have locked the phone to the original carrier again?
and is there anyway to unlock it(without root) or get it working again a different way?
(This is my first post. Forgive me if I've made any mistakes. )
Got quite a few views. Does this mean no one has any idea on what it could be?
Take a look at the antenna wire sometime you touched it and it's not connected properly
Yeah I have seen a lot of people lose signal who replace that port. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the antenna. Make sure you have knocked it by mistake

I experienced the same problem with my Samsung S2. I had destroyed the charging port by being careless when charging it which meant my phone would not charge at all; although if I was lucky I would get about 10% charge every day.
To resolve the problem, I bought a cheap charging port flex cable off ebay for about £4.00 which I thought was a bargin. After taking the phone apart (with help from a YouTube video) I replaced the port, turned the phone on and it charged perfectly. Then all of a sudden I lost all signal. I moved around the house, hoping to get the slightest bit of signal but no, nothing. I did a lot of research online as to why this has happened and everyone said it was to do with the antenna cable that runs along the left hand side of the phone so my immediate thought was to buy a new one. I did a factory reset to see if that helped but it did not. As I was desperate, the following day I went into town to see if I could find a shop that sold an antenna wire. I went in shop after shop but nowhere sold what I was looking for. I went into a shop and described my problem to the man behind the counter, and he knew exactly what was wrong. On the flex cable there is "REV" followed by a number, and he told me that if the replacement number is not the same as the original then the phone will have no service.
In the photos you will see my original cable that was "REV2.3" and my replacement cable that was "REV2.2".
Long story short... when replacing the charging port make sure the replacement flex cable has the same REV number as the original otherwise you will have no service. Your problem is not related to the antenna wire.
I hope this helps!

I had this problem on a number of charger boards I purchased on eBay for an N7000 (almost identical charge board to i717). I looked very closely (with a magnifying camera), and found bad solder connections and even missing components. I went through about 6 boards before I got one to work. Take a really close look at the board you purchased, and compare to the original, and get your money refunded if you can.

So basically you created a thread for no reason. Cable damaged by the touchscreen sensor. Touchscreen does not work. End of story.

ok and the cable that you have circled, the tip of that goes to the touchscreen/digitizer. you said it yourself, "my touch screen is not work......" That's a clear indication that you should look at threads about the digitizer. What are people doing? They are replacing the digitizer and/or the cable. So what's the problem? Go buy a replacement cable. Why did you create a thread when you already know what your problem is, what the effect of the problem is, have a handful of threads discussing your problem already in existence that you refused to/were too lazy to read/go look for, and have various sites such as ebay at your disposal to fix your problem?

You don't know that. It might look like it but I'm sure it actually isn't.
What is the point on having that many pins where all of them connect to GND?
If that piece had no function, they wouldn't even put it in, don't you think?

i just want to know they are obligatory?
it is feasible for weld another wire to the back of screen ?
if they are obligatory and can not be repaired , i will buy a cable~ i do't want to pay too much money ,the phone worth just ¥300 and i have pay ¥200+ to rpair it .
I've had this problem since I got the phone. The micro USB port is looks. No matter what cord I use it wiggles. I contacted Verizon and Samsung after I bought the phone and they would only send me a refurbished one/repair it. They didn't understand that when you spend $700 for something and it has a problem that the item should just be replaced. Anyone else's loose? Easy way to fix it?
Anyone?

Its a hardware issue and repairing a sealed phone is little difficult. So my personal opinion take it to samsung shop/dealer or contact ur provider. Thats easiest and will be far less risky.
I remember this issue whn i had s3, the whole phone needed to strip down to fix the connector.
Or try youtube but DIY i dont recommand.
