Hey guys,
This is one of my first threads so please bear with me.
If I did anything wrong feel free to let me know.
Issue 1: LTE Connectivity
So far I've been loving my one max so far, however there are a few troubling issues.
The first biggest issue for me is that I cannot seem to get 4g/LTE anywhere.
I had a note 3 before and I could get LTE coverage in the same area that I operate the one max in.
Is there anyway to enable LTE?
I'm currently on Telus network, and I've updated my APN's accordingly.
I was wondering if I had to flash a telus modem? If so, where would I go abouts downloading it?
Alternatively I vaguely recall a method of downloading the CSC by typing in a code in your dialer keypad.
Issue 2: Frequent Wifi connectivity problems
I've noticed that I've been dropping wifi connectivity quite often. Even when my phone is right next to the router, the connection will be lost
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I promise to donate to the person (people) who helps me fix this issue!

Don't know international but on sprint because of the new spark network and the different bands I can't get standard LTE till they roll out an update.

Try typing #*#*4636#*#* on the dialer.
Then Phone Information.
Choose LTE Only. If it does not get LTE, either you are not in an LTE area or the phone does not support your network's LTE band.

I have the same issue. My phone turned up to be from the US and it is not getting LTE on any of the networks here although there is LTE in the US. I called HTC support and gave them my IMEI, they confirmed phone has LTE. Dunno what to do.

just found out that EMEA LTE frequency is 800 / 900 / 1800 / 2600 while USA LTE frequency is 700 / 1700 / 2100
so the only solution is to return the phone back to the reseller

Hey yall I just wanted to start a discussion thread for T-Mobile like me who are braving T-Mobile's refarmed network and using the HTC One X+ (International or unlocked AT&T variant). Maybe we can get a few tips and tricks together to make our user experience a bit better.
For example, such radios yall are using, any build.prop edits that might help data speeds or GPS locking speed (if you are using the international version like I am).
Ill update the OP with the list of suggestions, maybe an FAQ.
I've been using the Phone Info app to turn off the LTE radio, although I'm not entirely sure that is does. I use the GSM auto mode which is the default on 3G non LTE phones. The default on the One X+ is GSM/WCDMA/LTE
Is anyone experiencing weak or wavering 3G signal (over PCS) as discussed toward the end of this thread (scroll down about halfway on page three)?
http://forums.tmonews.com/index.php?topic=18318.40
The very knowledgeable posters there say that T-Mobile is using less power on PCS (WCDMA), as compared to AWS, right now. And probably won't turn it up until they start shifting AWS to LTE.

Definitely especially indoors. I get full bars of PCS where available, but indoors I'm switching between 3G/"4G" and Edge.

Do you have a phone with AWS 3G to compare in the same location and see if it has better 3G reception?

Yep, my Nexus 4 gets constant HSPA+ where I get spotty PCS
I have a question for you guys that are using the HOX+ on T-mobile.
What type of sim card are you using?
I know that on the original HTC One X, you had to use a non-gba sim card that said 50.01 on the front to make it work, and that if you used the one that said 50.05 you wouldn't get data even if you change the APN settings.
I just bought this phone a few minutes ago on Amazon and I know Houston is a 1900MHZ pcs market so that's not an issue, i just want to make sure I don't run into any issues with the sim card I have as it is fairly new.

Well I cut my sim from a regular SIM card so there aren't really numbers on it. I think you'll be safer with a newer one than an older one so you're fine.
Also located in Houston and getting pretty good 3G
I tried to sign up over at tmonews forums and registration for new users is closed. Anybody have any insight as to when that will reopen?
I believe one of the reasons TMO has to go with lower power at first is to measure the impact of their new 1900mhz spectrum usage in the existing market in question. Since other carriers are using the same spectrum they need to make sure they do not cause interference. The best way to do that is short and long term RF studies. Start off with a refarmed freq at lower power then over time bump up the power and make sure it doesnt cause any new interference. If so then your able to go to a higher power. Im sure the FCC has time constraints for this but add into it the amount of towers im sure the carrier would rather accomplish more with each visit. So if an upgrade or tweek is needed then they can also adjust the power.
Forgot to add i recently acquired the ATT version of the HTC ONE X+ 64GB and it does ok in the Dallas area. Had it switch a few times to G and E but for the most part i stays on 4G. HSPA+21.6 DL speeds go between 2megs down and 9 megs down.
Prior to that i was using a Nexus 4 and TMO GS3. I seem to have better speeds with my GS3.

The forums have been like that for a while (at least months). Don't know why. Perhaps you can email the person who writes the blog and ask about it.
I live in the Orlando area, I am on Straight Talk. I was using an at&t compatible SIM from straight talk and got up to 7mb down and 1.5mb up but these speeds were not consistent, a few days ago I switched to a t -mobile compatible SIM from straight talk and now I get consistent 12mb down and 3mb up. I was very surprised! I'm so glad I did this switch
I am using an at&t 1X+ which I unlocked.

I have one of these coming and I am using the EE 4G network in the UK, now I doubt I will get 4G to work which isn't a major problem but will this phone work in 3G or HS+.
I have been searching around and keep getting contrasting information, some sites says I will only get 2G and others say I will get 3G etc, is there anyone out there with a bit more knowledge over networks that can help me please.
I have looked on these forums and found one post and have replied in this and sent PM's but do need this info rather fast.
I can't guarantee anything, but both the DNA and EE support 2100MHz, so you should be able to get HSPA+ without any problems. The phone was designed to work on most networks in the world, so there shouldn't be any issues.

Thanks for the reply I will be happy if it works with just HSPA+ as the 4G isn't that good where I live anyway.
So my contract is up in two days and I am looking at switching to a Net10 AT&T prepaid SIM service... Any real concerns or issues? I am on latest firmware and radios and running Infection 2.9.1 ROM.
Anybody doing this, comments or wish you had done it differently?
Probably going to pull the trigger in this today unless any red flags go up.
BTW, number porting is not an issue. I'm just going to move my VZW number to Google Voice once everything is working properly.
EDIT: ordered SIM and $50 unlimited card, should be here tomorrow. Hope all goes well...

I think it is. I'm not 100% but I guess you'll see when you use your sim card.

The Rezound out of the box supports the 900 MHz and 2100 MHz bands, which are used internationally for 3G and HSPA+. In the US, AT&T uses the 850 MHz and 1900 MHz bands, and T-Mobile uses 1700 MHz and 1900 MHz. The Rezound is great as a global phone, but it's always been limited to EDGE data in the US. This has never changed with firmware and radio updates.
The methods in the thread referenced earlier will let you get the 850 MHz band working with a very non-optimized, weak signal. That means you'll sometimes have 3G or HSPA+ on AT&T. But unless someone figures out how to optimize the signal there, you're probably still going to be stuck with EDGE most of the time.

I don't think anyone is going to find a way to optimize it for a stable connection for a while. The thread has been very quiet for a while now. Some users did get different results and I read through the thread and some people got better signal using a calibrated sensation nv file.

Hmmm... Unfortunately it appears this isn't going to work as I hoped.
What's working: Voice and SMS out of the box... MMS, Data (2G Edge, speeds in the range of 15k to 50K) with some tweaking in the APN settings.
I tried the tweaks in the other thread and changing the NV settings, it would say it connected at HSPA+ and pull an IP address, but even with the AT&T tower less than a 1/2 mile in direct line of sight from my office window it would never open a web page or work with any app that required a network connection and signal strength was in the nether regions according to Network Signal Info.
Oh well... guess it was worth a shot.

Pretty sure I got everything right. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get everything to work on 2g , and I was able to pull an IP address when it said HSPA, I just couldn't stay connected or get any data through. Spent about 2 or 3 hours working on it this afternoon and finally gave up.

im in dallas, tx and got the c6802 delivered yesterday and this thing is horrendously slow, as im only getting edge speeds...
the carrier i'm using is straight talk/at&t...the odd thing is, i can't find anyone else who's experiencing this problem...all the reviews and people a see online, and some here in the dallas area, are all attaining 3g speeds with this device...
i've changed and tweaked the apn settings to no avail...
i had the international version of the note2 and didn't experience any problems with this service...
any advice/tips to remedy this problem would be greatly appreciated or if this thread can serve as a warning to others who are contemplating purchasing this device, so be it...

call your providor. They will send you a message that is embedded with an file to install. This will configure your HSPA settings correctly.
Then reboot phone, and then you are good to go. I have to do it everytime I buy an international phone as the settings are slightly off.
I switched carriers to cut costs and I live in central Seattle, so with the Tmobile Headquarters next door, I knew coverage wouldn't be an issue. I hear that Seattle is a "refarmed" area and that even non-tmobile phones can get "decent" speeds (obviously not the LTE, but some sort of 3G/4G)
Can someone knowledgeable on the subject tell me what I need to get my phone off of E and onto H?
EDIT: I think I may have got the right APN settings by changing from fast.tmobile to epc.tmobile. the speed seems faster, but it still shows E (which may just be a limitation of the handset not being able to distinguish the 1900 MHtz 2G and 3G. Or out could just be a placebo effect.
but now I found a different issue. I can't call/data simultaneously. if it's not one thing it's another. x_x
Any responses

Pretty much edge is all you can hope to get. the Verizon model does not transfer over to T Mobile really. T Mobile is GSM, Verizon is a CDMA world phone. Verizon simply does not support the bands that T Mobile uses for 3G with one exception, the only way you will get a 3G connection is if you live in an area where T Mobile has a refarmed its 1900 megahertz edge network.
