Hey guys, just picked up my Xperia Z2 today. Really lovin' it so far, but it's my first phone with on-screen buttons. Ive owned a S4, S3, and S1 all before it.
Is there any way to change the buttons at the bottom, so I can have the back on the right like my Galaxy phones did and possible get back the menu button I'm missing so much?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

replace the images of the nav bar in SystemUI.apk res/xxHDPI folder
for getting the menu button, need to edit the framework-res.apk & SystemUI.apk

Hello all;
I have been searching and searching, but so far have not found an answer to this. I have a Verizon LTE Galaxy Tab 10.1. The issue I have is that I have a 3 year old daughter that loves to play with it. The problem is so far I have found no way to completely lock the notification bar. I have found apps that lock the back and home buttons, but not the rest of the buttons, the notifications, and more importantly the settings menu.
Here are the exact details of my hardware.
Model: SCH-I905
Build: HTJ85B.EL01.SCH-I905.EL01
Kernel: 2.6.36.4-cyanogenmod+ [email protected] #1
Does anyone know of any solution for my situation?
Thanks in advance for any help!

I assume you mean you want to let her play without the worry of her pressing and opening other apps?
(LOL, 3 year old opening and reading your mails *sarcasm*)
But yes this can be possible. I however am confused, what would you like to disable? The hardware keys or the touch keys? Don't think disabling the hardware key's is a good idea, incase the tablet hangs up. But I guess it's all based on your reply.

All I am looking to disable is the soft keys across the bottom. Currently I am running the latest released Verizon build so it has the TouchWiz skin/interface installed. I am looking to disable all the soft keys across the bottom of the UI. Most important is the pop up menu you get when pressing the clock area in the bottom right of the screen.
Thanks again.
Try the app called Hide Bar - it will completely hide the bottom system bar (not just dim like when looking at photos) and only re-appears when you use a certain gesture...
hope that works for your needs!

I searched the market for "Hide Bar" and cound not find anything that matched that name, but I did find an app called "No System Bar" and it did the trick wonderfully.
Thank you very much for the help on this one. It was driveing me nuts.

Hey guys I just bought a GS3, I am coming from a Galaxy Nexus. I am used to having all the menu buttons on the screen. Is it possible to force the GS3 to do both? On screen menu and hardware menu?
Sorry if this has been asked already
you can get widgets to do it for you. Beautiful and HD widgets I think both have one.
I used to use them on my HOX. But I have gotten used to the swipe down list! Brings my back to the old WebOS days!
Cheers...
Hi guys,
First of all I love the Themer App! As somebody who's coming from iOS, this is the app that actually made me come back to android. I have a small question regarding the soft keys. I noticed in my stock sony xperia z2 homescreen that the soft keys were transparant. But for some reason in themer, the soft keys have a black bar around them. Is there anyway to change the settings to turn them in to transparant soft keys? thanks in advance!

Hi - great to hear you made the change
As Themer is still in beta, the developers are still working on this feature. Hopefully it will arrive soon
I flashed a new rom on my Galaxy S3 AT&T. It was the Resurrection Remix for KitKat. I love the rom, but the only problem is that my phone now has soft keys, added to the hardware keys on the phone. I never liked the on-screen 'back' and 'menu' buttons. That's why I bought an S3 in the first place. But I had to reflash this rom a couple times to deal with 'Unfortunately, ... has stopped.' messages. Now it's finally working, but I really hate these keys. They waste screen-space and ruin the otherwise perfect scaling of things on my phone.
Yes, I know about the Expanded Desktop, but I like to use the Themer Launcher, which scales its widgets according to the soft-keys, present or not.
My issue is that I simply cannot save the Generic.kl file. I made the corrections, but I can't save the file. How do I do this?

HI!
Yes I also love this ROM. And also I hated this keys. And I decided to flash ARchidroid ROM 2.4.5. This Rom is sooo perfect. I advice you to flash this ROM to your phone.

Hello,
I have just recieved my Xperia, yesterday actually, and while setting it up I came across an option to customize the Soft Keys (it came in the notification panel if I remember correctly). I did't pay to much attention to it at that time, thinking I'll return to that setting. But when the time came, i could not find that setting anymore.
Does anyone know where is it?
Thank you!
