Add app to edit options in quick app. - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just wondered if it's possible? When I click the menu button (3 little dots) and choose edit, it gives me the choice of 2 apps, I'd like to be able to select a different app?
Is it possible?

To clarify. I'm using QuickPic as my gallery app and want yo be able to select Photo Editor Pro to edit the pictures. At the moment if I choose edit it only gives me the QuickPic editor which is too basic for my needs.

Can't set full picture as a wallpaper

Hi ..
Can u help me please ,
When I try to set 1 of the pictures as a wallpaper .. the phone force me to drop the picture !!
How can I set it with full size ?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
This is because the photo is not of 16:9 ratio..
You can try it by editing it
If your phone is rooted you could flash the scrolling wallpaper mod, then you'll see more of your image as you swipe between screens.
See here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1960039
Also, try this free app... much better for setting wallpaper:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.android.wallpapersetandsave&hl=en
install scrollingwallpaper.apk and set your pic by this app as live wallpaper
Yeah, by default Samsung disabled the scrolling wallpaper in TW. I never really understood the benefit of it anyway.

Well everyone should use this app. The default system of Android for setting wallpaper is crap, it reduces quality drastically.
There is an alternative to this app, called Image2wallpaper, free on Play Store.

"Hidden" settings via Nova

I haven't seen this posted and thought I would pass it on.
With Nova launcher long press home screen > shortcuts > activities. Scroll through and select what you want and it'll put an icon on your home screen. 271 choices in settings. Many don't do anything. Probably the easiest way to disable cabl.

I'd imagine it'd work on other third party launchers also, I just happened to use Nova. Some of the settings aren't even applicable to the g2. It appears that lg modified a different device's rom to use on the g2 or they have a master rom and select features and settings to be visible on each device. Who knows...

That probably wouldn't hurt.
Off topic: I just don't understand why people aren't rooted... The risk is minor and usually anything that could go wrong is fixable. Some people treat it like they're doing something illegal. Probably just don't want to put themselves in the position of having to ask for help and the possibility of being embarrassed. I'd rather break something just so I can learn something when I have to fix it.

theres more maintenance with a rooted phone
you cant just update the OS for example
rooting is definitely only for the tweakers

Cabl tries to adjust screen brightness according to what is currently being displayed. When implemented correctly the user shouldn't notice much. However, some devices (the g2 being one of those) end up having screen flickering. Lg released updates to help with the issue, so your mileage may vary. Personally, I notice the flickering with low screen brightness on white background apps with pictures such as g+.

S5 Photo Editor without S5 mod

Hello mates,
Presenting the way to have the Latest Photo Editor (S5) on 4.4.2
KK Rom.
here are the steps:
First through any root file browser go to /data/app
Rename the com.sec.android.mimage.photoretouching.apk to com.sec.android.mimage.photoretouching.apk.bak
(This was your existing common photo editor)
Now flash this
https://www.dropbox.com/s/eaw291fmttm2mjl/pHoToEdItOrS5.zip
Reboot.
Now from gallery if you open an image and want to edit, you will find the new photo editor with lots of options.
This is tasted on DN3 RC2(NOT FOR DN3V5) but should work on other 4.4.2 roms also.
Again WHOLE CREDIT GOES TO THE GREAT E-team for giving us the S5 mod and apps.
Original thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2706127
Cheers.
Special thanks to @Logel
Here is the update mates, for ported android 4.4.4 users
First rename the 'photoretouching apk' as '.....apk.bak' in /data/app and rename the Gallery apk as same in /system/priv-app.
Now flash the zip, check, if everything is okay you can delete those renamed apks.

Hello @nitol! First of all thankyou for this but I don't have that com.sec.mimiage bla bla in data/app but in my system/priv-app i have that sstudio.apk, should i just directly push that apk to data/app, change permission, reboot and it's done?

Then you don't have the common photo editor, no problem, push the file (1st link) to data/app, change permission and reboot, then check.

You need full S5 mod for video editing options. That is studio option from gallery menu and you can't use 'shot and more' because it needs S5 camera.
