Hi, lately my phone is overheating from back bottom, pretty much whenever I use it, also my battery drains really fast, I'm running CM11, but I don't believe that's the case because I've got it for months and didn't have any problems. But lately I was on cruise and spilled some bear on it, my screen didn't work for day, now its working fine also 2 of my navigation buttons don't respond anymore (back button and "more options") What shall I do? I just bought this phone in January and don't really have money, shud I take it to warranty? Water damage sticker behind battery is not pink, only a little bit if u watch carefully (little corner). What should I do?
Sorry for my bad English, I hope you understand me.
Thanks in advance Tedre.

Most probably the water fried something up and the display is damaged. Try taking it to warranty and try ur luck. Hope they dun look tat closely at the water damage sticker and you should be alright. Just say tat when u used ur device, u realise tat ur phone has those symptoms and they MIGHT just help u change the device. Also rmb to go back to stock.

I would take to repair, otherwise damage may be increasing to make a much larger breakdown.

as corny as the topic maybe,
i need some help concerning it's "vibrator".
i've done some search but can't find what i was looking for.
so,
my hd2's "vibrator" died recently. the phone doesnt vibrate anymore.
but u can tell that its trying because the phone doesnt vibrate
but u can hear a slight click sound on the motor/actuator.
i've reflashed my phone to its original rom and spl and sent it in for warranty claims.
i'm just wondering how can the vibrator suddenly die. putting into account
that the phone has never been dropped before, has been handled with care, and it's practically new (date of purchase Jan 1st 2010). what could have caused it?
help and answers are much appreciated, thanks
regards,
edi
location ; malaysia, south east asia.
does it even not vibrate when you turn your device on?
i would say you should flash the stock rom and bring it to the shop where you bought it...or send it to htc...whatever..
i think its a warranty case...

i think i did mention ive done so.

i had the same issue. check if you "pressed in" the little glass of the led flash. if you do, the vibrator will stop working. i think its a design issue.. i sent it back and
they sad it works, because in the meantime the glass came out again... try sending it back for repair!
uh yeah, sorry mate...my mistake
i think i read it to fast
the reason...i think nobody can mention it exactly..
i would say its just a "normal" defect and it will only happen to 1/100000 devices or so just destiny

Nice disassembly tutorial, but in this case there is no need to replace the vibrator motor, it works just blocked by the plastic flash window. Pulling it out by a suction cup is a good instant fix but it is likely to be pushed back again. I faced the same problem right after buying my HD2, then I disassembled the phone, and noticed how weak the factory fixation is. Pushed back the window then fixed it with a VERY SMALL AMOUNT of 2 component epoxy glue. Stays in position since ~8 months.
So, I was at school and my phone was fine, it was in my pocket. During the day I take it off to check what time it was, and half the screen was black with two green lines on the right side (check pic). There was no collision while it was in my pocket, nor I let it fall so I don't understand what happened :\
It's still on warranty so I'm lucky I guess, but it still sucks.
Anyone has any idea of might have happened?
Certainly looks like the screen was stressed to me. I always keep my phone with the screen facing my leg with nothing else in my pocket.
Sent from my LG-P509 using XDA App
that looks bad. did you try pressing the screen a bit, not too firmly though. do you have a custom rom?
Do you use tight jeans? that may explain the stress if you somehow "flexed" too much

The overclock was high (806), but never had any FC or warnings, and I've had it like that for a month now, didn't have any overheat issues either. Problem is they probably won't replace it immediatly, they'll try to repair first, which means it'll take some time, so that's a bit lame but I'll just have to wait I guess.
Hi everyone,
my friend's sgs2 has the following problem: everything works fine, except for the audio. there is just no sound coming out from any of the two speakers. if i plug in earphones, i just hear constant noise with cracks in it, but nothing that sounds like what is supposed to come out of the earphones.
i sent in the device for warranty and, seemingly like many others, got the reply that the device has a water damage and is therefore excluded from warranty. my friend swore that he never dropped it into water or anything.
When i look at the pictures from the repair service it looks like there is some corrosion?? But how can that happen, if all moisture indicators are white and everything else works flawlessly?
Any thoughts?
Alleged Water damage?
did the device go near any water?
If not...
Audio drivers.
Factory Reset
the corrosion from the pictures looks like from Heat...
because that deep in the phone, being water damage would destroy the whole thing...
all pics look alright, except the chip in the 1st pic...
but try factory reset first..
I mean your device got diagnosed from phone, inaccurate...
Hi, thanks for the swift reply.
Before I sent in the device, I had already tried pretty much everything. Factory reset (the device was on Stock Rom so it can't be the drivers), FW - Update (from 2.3.7 to 4.0.x and back).
According to my friend, he never let it get in contact with water. Also, if I am not mistaken, the moisture indicators are still white as they are supposed to be. The repair service also didn't mention anything specific, just water damage .....
If you talk about the chip at the bottom. I don't really know but it seems like ... glue or something? Seeing all those posts from users with the same "water damage" response it seems like they (samsung/datrepair) just want to screw us customers -.-

in that case their reply means that they just dont want to repair it and there is nothing i can do? ....
EDIT:
anyone from Germany around who knows what to possibly do? like is there any samsung certified electrician that i could contact? as it doesn't seem to be a water damage

Don't trust those guys at the service center, take it to another place.
The first pic does look nasty, now I'm scared my device looks like that.
Reminder: Do not check out my device hardware.
Okay, so...that's not water damage, just don't trust those guys
BTW, headphones/earphones makes a scrappy noise? It really does sound like software related rather than hardware related.
But again, what the hell do I know.
Problem is, I don't know where else to take it.
Person from another forum said that it looks more like a problem with air humidity or steam .... but I have no idea how that could have happened.
Going to call the service once again. I dont expect much though. its really frustrating
Hi guys,
I dropped my phone into the sink filled with water ( I know what I'm an idiot ) and I got it straight out and did the usual, take battery out, place in rice for 3 days etc.
Now, I've turned it on and everything is fine except the sound, when it plays any audio it has some static with it and plays it at a much higher pitch. This is also produced with headphones connected which the phone sometimes doesn't register.
Thanks a lot,I'm happy to answer any questions about it, hope I can get this fixed since I can't afford a new phone atm

As far as i understand it should be a hardware problem... But you could try factory reset or reflash device just to make sure that falling in water didn't screw something in software. Also if it is possible get someone with knowledge how to open a phone to clean all internal parts from salts and oxides.
ThanKs for the reply, I don't think its a software problem because its still consistent when running with safe mode. Should I attempt to stick it in rice or something before completely voiding the warranty by opening it up ?
Oh and sorry I forgot to mention, pressing down on the metal plate on the back seemed to work as a temporary fix but now it no longer does anything.

You can always try to take it to repair center and hope, that the water damage stickers inside hasn't worked and changed their color. BTW build of this phone is almost watertight and ports and back cover are only places for water to enter, so damage should be relatively small.
The sticker is red at the back, I think that means its been touched by water any other options ? I might still go to the repair centre and try my luck.
Hello to everyone, a few days ago my watch started shutting down after a while, sometimes write after boot and sometimes after 5 or 10 minutes or so. I tried reverting to stock settings (factory reset) also sync it with a new account from other phone, I even installed Everest Rom and still it shuts down after a few minutes. Also sometimes it gets very hot, all over the watch not only at the bottom or the front glass.
The watch is in my possession for around 1,5 year and it is the international version.
Same behavior, is the result of water geting in...
How is that possible , it is water resistant!?
Did you open it easily?

It was used a year, never taken off the hand unless charging., so it got into sea swiming, hot showers/baths, everything, and i did not kept it in clean water for 10 min, or what the manual says... . So all that chemicals and salt afected the seals ...
It was opened by the service guys, i sent it for waranty, which they ofcourse void it (apparantely no device is covered by waranty if liquides get inside them ... ?!?)
I will try to test if is fixable by my self.... with no water resistance...
Thank you my friend for your time and answers, I will try to open it and see if this is wrong with my watch too. Last year after every swim I did clean it up but this year I never did so maybe this is what happened to mine also.
My problem was not from getting water in

Can't really tell from the image, but it looks like there is some corosion/oxidation on the capacitors near the sensor ? (seems like some green/blue colored contacts). If so, maybe try to gentaly clean it, it could make electrical contact between components that should not be in contact.
Also look at the battery and see if there is any visible damage to it
... my battery is 0 volts, and a little puffy, i will try to see if it takes charge.
If yours got extremely hot as mine did, pls consider the safty issues of the situation

I think you are wright my friend, I 'll get back home and see it more closely and try to clean it up and see if that helps.
Well you were wright about sensor
I tried to clean as good as I could but with no luck , I also checked the battery and it seemed ok to me.
Then I decided to cut the sensor power by cutting the cable that connects to it and then booted up the watch and everything is working fine ,no shutdowns, no overheating problems and no battery consumption at all. I guess that the sensor is no longer working at all and it isn't anymore waterproof but at least I have a fully functional watch until i decide what to do. Thanks again for pointing out the corrosion-oxidation of the sensor. The only thing I cannot comprehend is how did that happen to the sensor capacitors, since there where no moisture inside the watch!?!?
Thanks again my friend!
