Why does chrome classify liquid smooth zip as malicious? - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I tried to download liquid smooth from this thread a Ned chrome warned that it may be malicious. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2245120
The official site doesn't list this version so I was a little worried. Is the zip file from the link above okay?

ye lol it's not a virus. chrome classifies things it doesn't recognize as malware for some reason, but the grand majority of ROMs don't have viruses so you should be fine. i got the same thing when downloading AOKP Milestone 6 a while ago.

[VIDEO] TWRP 2 and Goo Manager Tutorial & Review

TWRP has been reborn!
Teamwin has redone TWRP and released a new version with all sorts of new features.
TWRP 2.1, along with Goo Manager from the Android Play Store (Market) will give you the perfect combination of apps to keep your device up to date with current ROMs and GAPPS.
Be sure to visit http://www.teamw.in for more info!
I followed your tutorial video and everything works fine.
I also did an incremental update today, pretty sweet.
Thanks for your videos and thanks to the devs for all their hard work.
Great video. I'd been using Goo Manager for a while but you still showed me some new stuff. Quick question though, I may have misheard you but did you say that the official nighlies cannot be obtained through the app? Because I thought that "nightly" was the official one.

Excellent question. No, the OFFICIAL CM9 Nightlies are not hosted on the Goo servers, therefore they are NOT the Nightlies you see in Goo Manager. Those are UNOFFICIAL. I had to ask the same question of the Teamwin group.

It would be awesome if there were incremental downloads that didn't format the /system partition. Downloading the entire ROM and having to flash gApps everytime seems a little hectic to me

How do you remove a custom theme from TWRP 2.0 ?
"Note: If you have a custom theme installed from 2.0 or 2.1.0, your theme will need to be updated to see the new features. It is recommended that you remove your custom theme before installing 2.1.1"
EDIT: I C. Just delete the zip in sdcard/TWRP/theme

[Q] Is there a Chromium for Android APK?

I found some build instructions at chromium.org and some public repo (not google's) at github, but so far no apk.
I'm asking because I couldn't find a video or demo of chromium running on android either which makes me wonder if it works at all or just limited to a webview basic mode.

I saw it once and tried researching it but could not find it again. Not 1 apk but 2. You need them both. I do not remember their names.

Sounds like some modded whatsapp apks I seen, but couldn't find anything either
Wonder how difficult would it be to couple the chromium-based webview with a browser UI

Yes, but it gets released everyday.
The trick with the official build of Chromium for Android is that it's constantly being released by the Chromium team.
These builds don't auto-update, so you need to install new builds occasionally( I install a new build every day, personally).
I put together an app getChromium that's available on Google Play(can't link anything in here yet) that securely pulls the latest build from the official repository and installs it.
Code's on github.

The app wasn't being used correctly by most of the users acquired on Google Play, so I've actually permanently moved it to GitHub. https://github.com/andDevW/getChromium. People all over the world were using it to install Chromium and then uninstalling it, unaware that the Chromium browser they're using will never update itself.

Is there any bug reported so far,i visited the chinese site where the rom is leaked there the bugs are mentioned : gravity sensor, camera bug, reboots, are these bugs there.
Alot of people say that almost everything is working. Where is the site link you visited?
Via the Internet
It works everything. I've tried all.
so that's almost pure aosp? that would be good too, as it could be customized a lot with gravity box
No option to assign the manual keys. and also there is no Theme Manager which comes in latest CM ROMS. Other wise the ROM is Rock Solid. Didn't found any bug as if now and also AnTuTu bench mark of my device comes out to be 42439.. Monster!
Yes antutu sign 43k... it's impressive.
There is no cm engine theme because it's aosp with some mod.
Can anyone post the link...............plz
What about random reboots?
The link is working and there is no random reboot.
the rom is compiled from source by a xiaomi developer so it is bug free, everything works just like the official miui 5/6 rom released by xiaomi
How is the ROM? Is it flashed the same way as cm? If it is bug free as everyone says I can't wait to flash it
Sent from my MI 3W using XDA Free mobile app
Yes, it must be flashed like CM.

Will you report here? if so, consider this a subscription!
Used PA a few times in the past and it has always been one of the smoothest and best running roms for me, so i'm very interested!

The real problem about it is the updates... will it be supported continuously or just 1 month. Considering PA's track records I doubt they will be able to sustain it for long. But I still have my fingers crossed.. Can you please do me a favor and install the HDLR camera zip found in the themes and apps forum in n6p and check if it works? if it does I will be flashing PA right away.
Also @seangeezy122 please do check the kernel and grab a couple of screenies
Thx for the info & links, downloading
Just one question : are gapps included? or should I flash theme?

I'm kinda sad. I've downloaded the rom twice now, and I've been clean flashing it, but my Nexus 6P boots up and then shortly freezes at the setup screen and reboots. It does this continuously. I'm using the latest BeansGapps, if that helps.
EDIT: I flashed just the ROM without Gapps and it works. Maybe my BeansGapps are corrupt and need to be re-downloaded. I'll give it a try.
EDIT 2: Okay, this ROM doesn't like BeansGapps. It restarted once, but it's chugging along the setup process just fine now.
it is encrypted or not?

No issues with BeansGapps, worked fine from the get go.
So far so good, no issues at least. Will play around for the rest of the day and see how real world usage goes.

did you use the full or mini gapps package
Flashed the rom with openGapps stock package, working fine for the moment. Looks promising but lacks extra features that other roms such as pure and RR have like hold power for flashlight and down right clear all button.
The MD5 hash for the rom file is CE696A1C396864B23F40A37CF9A4C5D6 if anyone is wondering.

Ever since MM PA isnt really about the features but more on the smooth side of the UI and a small handpicked own festures. Thats why before on MM I used some xposed modules to incorporate those small features I miss. Though this lack of features shouldn't be a bother to minimalists like me.
Which gapps beans or banks or open?
And which versions for vendor n2g470?
And where's the official page... Google+?

Considering he's the dev of both DerpFest and SparkOS for our device, as well as the QuickSilver kernel, and that his builds are based on Brigudav's trees (which, BTW, aren't official Team Win Recovery Project releases), I see no reason to trust him any more or less than what is given to other similar releases. YMMV, though.
in my case:
Brigudav (v3.6.2 27.08) works fine and decrypts well.
TheStretch version is worst and decryption not working
Now I'm concern about my data. I've just downloaded twrp-3.7.0_12-0-surya-29.09-fbev2___40_1__41_.img from here: https://apkadmin.com/nfig6igqmoqd/twrp-3.7.0_12-0-surya-29.09-fbev2___40_1__41_.img.html I saw it on a Youtube channel, and I don't know if there are any flaws of hacking on it.
It worked, I've installed LOS 19 and Gapps normally with it. But now I'm wondering, is there any chance that could have a trojan or something? (I'm kind of noob on recovery images)
What is the most reliable TWRP for Poco X3 NFC nowadays? Thanks guys,
It depends where you got it...
There is indeed a risk in TWRP to infect or contain a trojan if made by bad persons.
I would always advise to download a well known build (and open sourced), such as the ones mentionned in this thread, instead of an unknown source precompiled one.
Plus here you have dozens of person to test and review before you do
