No roms with tether? - HTC One Max

I came from the thunder bolt so I'm used to downloading a Rom and having WiFi tether work flawlessly. Is there any one max Rom for Verizon that can do this for me? I tried flashing the WiFi fix and it says incompatible device. Any help would be great... I'm on nusensesix and have a unlimited data plan and apologies if this is the wrong section to post in

Yes, I'll pm you

Thank you very much I was making a mistake thinking that the tether feature wasn't hacked already in nusensesix

Cricket Fascinate Users - Can someone confirm a working ICS ROM?

I just downloaded the ICS ROM from team hacksung and I love the ROM, but there's only one problem: My 3G data isn't working. Wifi works, which I am using right now, but no data and I don't know why. My 3G data was working fine before I flashed to ICS (it was working in EH03 GB) I'm just wondering if anyone else has a Verizon Fascinate fully flashed to Cricket who has had the same problem and knows how to fix it or can confirm a working ICS ROM that you've used where everything including data is working?
I'm the only one in the whole forum on Cricket? Someone's gotta be able to help....
Check your settings with CDMA Workshop or QPST. Most likely all you will need to do is open QPST, do not read from phone just write the correct settings under PPP Config. If that doesn't work then here is all you need to get it up and running again.

You more than likely just need apn shortcut apk to configure your apns if it was already working as you say or you flashed a rom that changed your prl and you need you change it back. Im running CM9 ICS from Hashcode on my droid3 and it works just fine. I just had to install the cricket universal mms apk to get the picture text working but regular text works fine with the stock mms. You will need the sms fix apk also they are all found in the cricketusers.com forum I hope this helped you out but I cant post the exact link here

I never got a reply from this guy so I have no idea if we are helping him at all... He posted this on 16th February 2012. A lot of people on XDA that never reply after you try to help them these days.
Sorry about not replying. I ended up posting on the rootzwiki forum where I got the rom and someone posted an "alternate carrier data fix" .zip file that I flashed through cwm. It ended up working instantly. If anyone is interested I can post the file when I get to my computer.

Yes please do. I was just trying to get gummy ics to work and no 3G. I couldnt access phoneutil to swap usb to modem to be able to connect to qpst, then i directly installed phoneutil but swapping pda to modem didnt do anything. Started to do more research and your post came up.
Definitely need that file.

Here ya go. Just flash the .zip in cwm and reboot. This worked for me so hopefully you have the same fate.

P.S. For some reason phoneutil does not exist in ICS and neither does a programming menu. I have another thread asking the devs if they know if these menus even exist anymore, but I get no answer.

Wifi/Data issues after restoring stock backup. Radio?

Hey there all.
I flashed the JB update that SLJB posted the other day and the radio that went along with it.
Everything working great and running well but I wanted to go back to my stock for a few days and see how it felt. Just to compare, since I've been running SnowJB 1.1 for a while and forgot what stock was like.
So restoring the backup worked fine, everything boots and works but Wifi. It shows the networks in my hood but will not connect with any of them. Cell Data seemed flakey too, play store couldnt find a way to connect.
First thought is the Radio I flashed for JB doesn't play well with ICS.
I was so excited for official JB I didn't think to back it up before flashing. DOH!
I have been pouring through searches and found a lot of radio talk in the N4 thread, but im not sure about flashing those on the OG. Having trouble finding the stock LGOG radio.
I hate to ask, I usually find stuff by searching, but my eyes are starting to cross... :cyclops:
Anyone know where I can find the stock radio?
The JB radio is at the link below, I've yet to see a flashable radio from the ICS releases.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2220048
I've had a similar problem since updating to JB, where I can connect to Wifi networks with no hassle, but there's no internet access. Is that the same problem you're having? Flashing the radio didn't fix my problem, but it might fix yours if you can't connect at all.
If anybody else is out there, I'd like to hear how my Wifi might be fixed as well

That's the radio I am currently using. Wifi and everything works fine in JB, but ICS not so much, so it seems...
Yeah, still been searching but not coming up with an ICS radio... It's gotta be out there somewhere.
Does LGNPST restore the original radio? If I use the stock tot...
Why did you even go back to ICS?
I'd just recommend doing the LGNPST to 20j/JB OTA.
I've got the stock ics radio on my home pc somewhere. If someone hasn't linked it by tomorrow evening when I get home then I'll post it for you.

Stock ICS modem (the first one he linked) worked like a charm.
I restored my backup of the Stock 10o ROM that I have on my SD. Let it boot, once it was up I could see WiFi networks but not connect, and data wouldn't connect.
Back to CWR I went, flashed the zip he linked. Rebooted and WiFi and Data connections are working, I can get connected and download.
And of course, now software update wants me to update. LoL

The rom was my original backup from CWR that I made right after I rooted and unlocked. I didnt download it from anywhere.
oh, is it possible to you can upload your copy? or recommend something similar so i can my phone as well.i wold really appreciate it.
see this is odd. I LGNPST'd the JB bin so I could use the CM and AOPK ROMs, but when i switched back to the stock j ROM snowleopard had
my wifi doesn't work. It will see the connections, but will not connect. Tethering will start and immediately shut down.
However on all of the other ROMS (which require the jb bin) wifi works fine.
Anyone have a clue as to why? As nice as the other ROMs are, I don't like not having the LG specific features (eco-mode, wise face detection, etc.)
Thanks a ton!

You need the JB radio to work with the Stock/Custom JB ROMS.
You need the original ICS radio to work with the older ROMS.

[Q] using ATT wifi hotspot with GE rom

Is it possible to connect to AT&T wifi hotspots at Starbucks etc. if we have flashed the GE rom put out today? I like how my phone auto-connects to these wifi networks without me needing to do anything and I want to maintain this in the GE rom if possible.
I've pulled the ATT_HotSpot.apk and .odex files from /system/app/
I'm thinking that after flashing the GE rom, I can push those files back to /system/app/
Anyone have thoughts on this?
Found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1645535
So I'm wondering if in addition to pushing the .apk and .odex files back after flashing GE, the wpa_supplicant.conf file(s?) will need to be modified to include the attwifi settings.
I found 3 config files and they are here:
/system/etc/wifi/
/etc/wifi/
/data/misc/wifi/
The first two are identical and only contain info for "attwifi". The last one has "attwifi" plus all other saved network and pw info in it.
I guess I won't know till I try it but if anyone has advice it is appreciated
You'll only need the WISP Service apk, which appears as 'AT&T Hot Spots' in the apps list. That is what takes care of the auto-login to AT&T WiFi networks. Just flash the attached zip, there's not configuration or anything, it just looks for SSIDs like attwifi and does auto-login if it can. It works on any 4.1 or 4.2 rom.

OK great! That would be a lot easier.
Curious though, whats the difference between the WISP Service apk and ATT_hotspot.apk? Or maybe its the same thing?
Also where did you get this? I don't see it in /system/app/ (I'm still on stock right now, probably gonna flash GE tomorrow)

The ATT_hotspot apk is to use your phone as a hotspot (tethering).
I got the apk from an AT&T stock rom then modified it to work with 4.2.2 as well.
Ahhh that makes sense.
So I can just put the zip on my sdcard, then install via TWRP right?
Figured it out.
Works like a charm! Thanks!
I still don't understand how you got this though. What directory was this in?

ZV4 to ZV6

Hello,
So i wanted to somehow manually update my phone from ZV4 (Did the .tot downgrade) and upgrade to ZV6 so i can get Wifi Calling, i have already removed/frozen alot! of stock Sprint Apps (Mainly removed lol) and i wanted to update to ZV6. I want to still keep my root and update, i saw a thread someone had posted and it said something about if you removed sprint apps it will error or fail to verify or something. Any suggestions on how to upgrade to ZV6 and keep root? Thanks
My recommendation would be to flash BarRin, which is a pre-rooted, debloated stock ZV6 ROM with a few tweaks:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/development/rom-barrin-odexed-deodexed-t2950747
I will do that!
So correct me if im wrong but i would flash v3 then the update then gapps?
Also is there like a live chat room for the LG G3 for instant support?

Yep. I'm running BarRin v3 and WiFi calling works fine. I did a clean install of v2 and then a dirty flash of v3.
If WiFi calling doesn't work on any stock ROM, entering ##RTN# in the dialer should get it back. It will do a factory reset of your phone, though, so make sure you back up anything important.

You don't have to have service to root and device. However you to need service to use the data for the wifi tethering. I'm on the OTA OC5 and rooted with wifi tethering >>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/not.../app-one-click-hotspot-enabler-menus-t2816159 <<< This is a link that will turn on the tethering function.

You would have to root your device and then install the app in the first post of the link that has been posted. Please read the first page in it's entirety.

You would use Odin to flash and custom recovery(TWRP or Phils') if you have not already done so. Then you would use the custom recovery to flash a SU(Super user/Root) zip file and you would have a rooted device.
You don't need to use the 3.18 version of the app but you misread, "AT&T and T-Mobile Hotspot testing live(use v3.1.8 and report any issues please)", the dev just wants feedback from users on those carriers.
How to Root >>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2474222
TWRP >>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2471564
Also read and read some more, nothing is worse when you don't know what you're doing but this is also a helpful community.

No, I don't think you understand. You use Odin to flash a custom recovery to a Samsung device or a stock image, bootloader, etc. Then you use the custom recovery to flash a ROM that is rooted or flash a SU zip that has the binaries and or some other goodies for root. However, this does require you to read, a lot, since there are several different version and updates for this phone. The link that has been provided is a download for an app that you would install after you have root, but before you tried to do any of this you should have read and read some more until you understood what you were doing. From the post that you have been placing in this thread you have not read any of the links I have and others have provided and don't know what steps you were trying to do, so I not sure if I can help.
The best thing to do is to use odin and flash a stock tar, but you have to read, read, read. You need to know what firmware version you had before doing this, if not you can mess the phone up bad.
I use "WiFi Tether Router". It's in the app store and it works great for me.
