hi all,
3 months ago i repaired and started using a i9100 italian phone.
The phone was 3 years old (no more than 1 month of usage 'cause LCD broken).
I flashed a CM 10.1.3 on it: The phone gave me 10 h of little usage (no game, 1 h of call max and maybe 1-2 h of browsing / whatsapp mainly with wifi).
After 1 month I replaced the battery with a bigger one (3.5A), but since now i can reach a maximum of 15 h with the same usage, changing governor from pegasusq to ondemand.
Generally I completely discharge the battery and completely charge it, the phone takes 2-3 hours for complete charge (using apple ipad 2A psu).
Is it common that the phone takes so much to charge and the battery drain is so high? I came from an iphone 4 that after 4 years gave me 20h of battery with the same usage...
thx!
That 3.5A battery is probably a low quality chinese product. I have a new original 1650mah for my second hand S2 and I get around 12-15 hours with 3-4 hours on screen time on CM11.

I got my refurb LG Optimus from T-mobile a little over two weeks ago. I set it up with Groove IP and have wifi on almost all day with the phone in airplane mode. Running stock 2.2 and stock kernel, haven't rooted or anything. Generally I had it unplugged for about 14 hours a day and would charge it nightly. Battery life would get down in the 20-30% range on occasion and it was generally looking like I would have gotten about 20 hours total if I would have taken it down to 0%.
Without remembering making any major changes (updated a couple apps maybe) I am currently at 2 days 4 hours since last charge and battery is at 60%. This is the first time it's going this long ... basically two nights ago I was about to plug it in when I noticed the battery level was still really high so I didn't bother. Still high last night so I again didn't plug it in.
Any ideas what would cause this to happen? Looking at the battery use, it is mostly the same as before (50% wifi, 19% phone idle, 15% cell standby, 10% android system, a little to display and some other stuff). Was the battery level indication just wrong the first couple weeks? i.e. when it said 30% left it really might have been at like 80%?
Not complaining at all of course and I hope I keep getting this battery life.
Hi guys i'm new.I got a question.
It's been 9 days since i bought my galaxy wonder. Its battery is too weird for 3 days.Because 3 days ago 2.5 hours passed until %98.Now once i unplug its charger, it downs to %84 in 2.5 hours
Why is it too unstable? I didn't calibrate. (If that means charging it 12 hours after it discharged for the first time, i didn't do it.May it be the reason?)
BTW, important note : All settings are off (Wi-fi,bluetooth,gps,syncronization) and screen brightness is about %30 or %35 i guess.I don't even use live wallpaper and only widget i use is battery widget.(A simple widget 100 kb)
Just for 3 days I didn't do anything.And in 2.5 hours, i just texted.
please help

1. After about 3 - 5 cycles, the battery should be perfect.
2. Charging time is about 2.5 hrs or more.
-If you leave / off your phone while charging, then it should be full in about 2.5 hrs.
-If you are playing with the phone while charging, then it will take much longer
3. Average battery life is subjective and unpredictable, because it depends on so many factors.
- For me, my battery last for about 10 hrs of moderate - heavy usage (4 hrs of screen on time in average)
4. The fact that your battery lasted for 6 hrs after first use is normal. It's just your first sleep with your newly wedded wife.
Swyped from my Galaxy SII
Give it some days to fully settle and 4/5 cycles of fully charge/discharge and then the stats of you battery will be perfect (more or less).
I can get up to six and a half hours of screen usage, with a total of 15 hours of battery life

After the second charge my battery can stand for over 20h... With average use it has life for 10-12h...
How to clear the cached process in the settings - applications tab?
this depends on what apps and configuration and settings you have on your device
Takes 2.5-3 hours to charge when the phone is on and about 2-2.5 hours when the phone is of f.
As for the battery life, lol, it depends on many factors, you know roms, kernel, modem etc.i can get only three hours, because I'm a gamer.nova 3 and mc3 all day and i can get 16 hours on moderate use .6 hours of screen on
Hit thanks if i have helped you......

I purchased a 6400mAh Hyperion cell, and I've found what it gives me on average for my usage and configuration.
50% screen brightness. Stock ROM Rooted. Auto brightness off. Samsung sensors and motion, ECT, off. GPS on. WiFi on. (I'm on Sprint. LTE is non existent) with minimal 3G. Strong 2G signal. (4-5 bars all day every day)
Stock 3200mAh cell, i get 24-27 hours total on time with about 5 hours on the nose screen on time (I usually don't quite break 5 hours)
With the Hyperion 6400mAh cell, I get 33-37 hours total on time, with about 8 hours screen on time.
As a reference to past devices I own (i'm a battery life whore. I remember what all of my devices average at)- the numbers below are what I usually get when at 1% power left.
My Galaxy Nexus with 2100mAh extended cell. (10-12 hour total on time. 2 hours 20 minutes screen on time (With a similar config as above)
My Galaxy S II with 1850mAh stock cell (14-16 hour total on time. 2 hours 30 minutes screen on time (with GB or JB. ICS did this phone nightmares...)
My HTC One with 2300mAh internal cell 22-24 hours total on time with 2 hours 50 minutes screen on time
My Galaxy S4 with 2600mAh cell 21-23 hours total on time with 2 hours 45-50 minutes screen on time
My iPhone 5s 14-16 hours total on time with 2.5 hours screen on time.
So my point is, with how I have my phones set up and my usage, the Note 3 does VERY well with battery life. The extended cellis NUTZ

Hi,
Long time lurker - the community has really helped me many times in the past. Thank you.
I now have an issue with my battery in my i9300. Phone and battery are 22 months old. All stock (updated to 4.3).
Phone gets charged every night from 10pm to 6am. Usage has been constant - no new apps added in last year.
Until 2 months ago, the phone would have 25% to 35% at the end of the day having started at 100% each morning
Then it started to drop to 15-20%. I thought - hmm - battery is aging a bit.
Then, in the bast week, suddenly, I get a max of 4 hours use, then battery dies. It recharges to 100% in one hour (I use a 10W charger) and then lasts again for 4 hours.
The battery is not bulging or showing other signs of being defective. There does not seem to be any apps that are using unusual cpu %. Phone is responsive.
My questions are:
1. Is it normal for a battery to suddenly degrade like this? I thought the Li Ion batteries degraded at a constant (20% per year half life) rate.?
2. Is using a 10W charger damaging to the battery (stock is 5W) ?
Thanks
Mark
1. Yes, two years old is ancient so replace it now.
2. Rating of charger is irrelevant, the charging circuit in the phone decides what the battery gets.
Definitely replace the battery. When I was using the Galaxy S3 after 15 months of buying it, the battery was simply horrible. It wouldn't last even half a day. I bought a new battery and it is much better.

I think that 22 months for a phone battery you charge every day is "normal"... that's why I bought a phone with a emovable battery
