Autobrightness of firmware .438 is a little too dim for me, even set at max.
Do you know which system file control the autobrightness calibration ?
It may be one of the hw configs in /etc/
Try editing those because they determine led brightness and notifacation light brightness

brightness is automatically adjusted using the light sensor, which you have above the display this is for saving battery
when your battery low , the brightness get low

If you walk into a dark room, auto-brightness will turn the screen brightness down so you don't strain your eyes unnecessarily. If you got outside on a sunny day, it will turn the screen brightness up to help you see it better.
Running jokersax CM9 0.4.4 but the slider for brightness control will never show up for me. I have tried on all previous versions of the ROM. Anyone else have this problem? Any workarounds?

Is automatic brightness turned on?
if you're referring to the brightness slider in display settings, then yes, turn off automatic brightness, otherwise, please specify which slider you're referring to

Yes I'm referring to the brightness slider in the notification dropdown. Auto brightness is off

I don't think it works yet...I have Turl-v8 and it doesn't work. I will patiently wait for the next build.
well I think the brightness control in status bar is annoying, seems that it's related with SystemUI.apk, replaced it with older SystemUI.apk and it's gone but some minor issues when doing that, so does anybody know what to do to remove it?
Yes flash your last firmware

I would also like to remove the brightness slider from the notification panel. Is there a MOD to do that?
As the title says. I would like to scale auto brightness so it isn't so bright when using the phone in the dark. I was using an app but you have to turn it on for every reboot.

I have exactly the same problem, but lux autobrightness solves that for me. only problem is that if u want it to auto start, u have to enable it to be in persistent mode, which leaves an icon in your status bar. other than that, i am very pleased with the way it works,
Ya auto lux from the market works the best, i was very skeptical about an app from the market to control brightness but it really works good, the factory auto setup is TERRIBLE.
Try AutoLux it works very good.
Hello everyone,
I want to ask that is there any app or trick to change the brightness of led flash to a low level. I have tried adjustable torch but it says that sysfs file not found. Thanks

I haven't found an option to change the brightness of the led but try changing the color to something like orange. It will be less brighter.

Our phones don't support adjustable LED brightness, so you're out of luck. LEDs are off/on only, no brightness levels

I recently found an app called "light flow" on the play store there is an option for adjusting led brightness. Try it and see if it works
