This is still experimental.
Camera is not working yet
This is an unofficial build of CM11.0.
This is an attempt to stay close to official cm11.0 and not make crazy hacks to make things working.
This is a pure CM build, only contains official CM features. I will not add any other external feature/app/etc.
For an up-to date working/not working list, bug tracker, useful guides & FAQ, visit our website:
http://legacyxperia.github.io
WARNING: This ROM uses a modified internal memory layout.
Our /system partition is originally 400MB but this space is not enough for a fluid kitkat experience and a full installation with proper google apps.
Our /cache partition is also too small to fit art-cache when we enable the ART runtime. We originally had 100MB /cache but art-cache needs ~150mb of free space.
I have repartitioned the internal memory layout, giving:
450mb in /system
469,5mb in /data
8mb in /cache
If you want to use this ROM you will always have to use the included kernel or use a kernel that includes the layour changes. Bug reports with non-standard kernels will be ignored.
You will have to wipe the device and make a clean install.
You cannot restore nandroid backups from previous android versions or restore nandroid backups from this ROM to other ROMs that don't use the new partition layout since you risk corrupting the data.
I suggest to use Titanium Backup, Helium or any other similar app to backup your data if you really need to.
Requirements:
* Have the stock ICS 4.1.B.0.587 full ftf flashed (doesn't matter if you have flashed it in the past or if you flash it before installing cm11.0, it will work both ways)
* LT15i (Arc) users need to flash LT18i (Arc S) ftf
* MT15i (Neo) users need to flash MT11i (Neo V) ftf
* R800i (Play) users need to flash MT25i (Neo L) ftf
Steps required for correct installation (order is important):
1: Flash boot.img in fastboot & reboot into recovery
1.1 (optional): If the device is not booting, reboot to bootloader again and run:
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase userdata
2: Enter recovery, go to mounts and storage
3: Format /system, then /data and then /cache (Important step!)
4: Flash update zip
5: Flash gapps (recommended package is the one provided in the link below)
Steps 1.1, 2 & 3 are not needed when you install new cm11 nightlies on top of older cm11 builds in the future
If you want to return to a ROM that doesn't use the new partition layout, you need to follow the above steps again (only replace boot.img & update zip with the ones you want to use).

Yhaaaa !!! You are awesome :3
Congratulations Mike, you did a great job, where I can help I will be testing ...
I would also like to say something, I have a Galaxy 5 and the most popular developer for he had space problems for kitkat, but he and the crew are androidarmv6 of parabens, the Galaxy 5 has only 160 mb of space for system and flows nicely ....
Thank you, and congratulations on the excellent work! :good: :victory:
Wow its not a dream anymore to have a working kitkat release for xperia play thanks dev!

to make system partition bigger same as neo l .. 400mb again flash lxp kernel to increase system partition even bigger 450mb ..
congrats guys finally has a kitkat build on play & neo .. credits to developers now whole 2011 devices on latest android ( not the android l ) :good:
i think we dont need MT25i (Neo L) ftf because we can unlock our partition by flashing .62 vendor or .79 once

If I'm not mistaken Neo L ftfs are fully compatible with the play. That means you can use the baseband from .587, which is the recommended one to use.
Amazing work!
Do wifi/camera etc seem like big obstacles still?
As for the comment about ART in the second post, is that ever going to be a possibility? It would be a great speed improvement for our old hardware.
On a side note, how the stability with only 8 MB of cache? Is it ever going to be possible to move the cache to the SD for example, or reduce the system size by moving a lot of system apps into data?
Thank you so much for having taken it this far! This is amazing in itself!
device will work normal with 8mb cash partition
but there are some apps in google play that they will link cache to sd card and u can use them if you want but as i said phone will work like normal with 8mb cache
about art i think it was working in other 2011 devices but im not sure
but it doesnt help you too much
I can't find any download
Gesendet von meinem Nexus 5 mit Tapatalk
ART in KitKat is still really experimental, you can turn it on, but the only big difference from Dalvik is that the first installation is slower (and also that lots of app aren't compatible).
If you really want to use ART pick a Nexus device and try the Dev preview of Android L, in this newer version you can see a difference (and it is still under development, really curious to try the official Android L this year).
thread is turning into a discussion thread.. though its Dev .. !!
and would have been better to post kernel once atleast WIFI works .. else its same as 4.4.2 and cm11 we tested some days back.

It's not the same. A lot of small bugs including front keys have been fixed.
I wanted to roll some builds so more people can test for both devices so I can have a base to start working on fixing the remaining bugs

About Wifi, I know it may sound ridiculous, but has anyone tried changing wifi.interface=eth0 to wifi.interface=wlan0 into build.prop and then adding persist.wifienabled=1? The persist option helped a lot back when ics beta was released

Yes the sources are not the same, I'm trying to stay close to official cm10.1 and send bugfixes there. Bluetooth is not working here, it will be probably fixed with nAa's 3.0.8 kernel when it will be released. This rom is not intended for simple users, I created it to gather information from devs & advanced users to fix the bugs in a clean way.

Can i help in some way.
Will you add support for mini pro ?
my build was successful, no problems,
@anybody using this,
my apollo is crashing on the first launch. clear the data of apollo and report here if it crashes for you too.
i have a sd-ext partition, so that may have something to do with it, and so i want someone else to confirm this.
i have already created an issue on the cm bugtracker,
https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/CYAN-808
logcat is attached in the issue,
i'll try to see what causes the problem,
edit:
they have closed the issue, since coconut is not an official cm-10.1 phone.
smultron build is up, mango is coming next
i think we never be able to have a Working Bluetooth because 4.2 brings the new bluetooth stack ... We have to back port bluez which hikari no
tenshi did for cm42semc builds ... but let's hope for the best ..!

I'm already porting the new drivers for the BlueDroid stack.
EDIT: mango build is up
I just flashed your mango build and so far I can report two bugs:
1. Softkey Backlight not working (hardware key lighting fine though)
2. Light Sensor not working (constantly reports 0 lux as value)
Just minor stuff, does not really bother me, just wanted to state it.
Also the 4.2 camera is working in shufuking´s ROM (photos only), in your build it does not work at all, but I suppose that
is due to one of the "crazy hacks" you don´t want to use?

Key backlights is a known issue and it is already fixed in the next build
Have you flashed both kernel & rom? Check the FAQ about bug reporting
About the camera, don't expect working camera on cm10 or 10.1 roms except LegacyCamera. These apps will never work, only hope that sony is going to release some camera source or precompiled libs for JB or some dev makes magic things to fix the camera I'm not willing to hack android to fix camera since it requires extensive changes.
Hi Mike,
It's great you decided to do things sane way, try to push changes upstream and provide us with clean sources.
I have been playing with them for a few day to further customize my Cyanogen experience, but I can't figure out how to prevent 4.2 camera from building. Uncommenting BOARD_USES_LEGACY_CAMERA := true like on cm10 breaks the build for me. I suppose I could just remove camera project from manifest, but I'm going to build for mako so that's really not an option.
Thanks.
pinch to zoom in browser , gallery , and most app working ?

I tried both. The Kernel inside ZIP and nAa Kernel (which i am using now)
The reason why I did not include a logcat is because there is nothing related to light sensor in it (captured 2 logcats with and without automatic brightness and no difference in output)
When I activate automatic brightness it just dims the screen down to almost complete dark.
As said before this is not really an issue for me as I dont use auto brightness anyway. So maybe it is better to wait if other user report the same behaviour...

I'd like to have discussion about my builds or builds that come from my sources. My first goal is to make nAa kernel bootable on 10.1 then see what bugs are remaining to solve
Im really not working on ubuntu porting at all either from CM10.1 been extremely busy the past month and builds and syncs are very hard on my computer. Hopefully that can change soon. Good luck on these builds!

Thanks, I will upload the first build on Monday-Tuesday but I don't own the device, you told me earlier that nAa is stuck on boot logo on the Play. Maybe we should find out what causes this.
nAa is going to release the 3.0 source soon but it will initially support only smultron. zeus is going to need a lot more work since it's different than the rest of the 2011 xperias (mogami vs zeus)
So for now we'll use 2.6.32 kernel and fix the things here
Didn't he release the sources today https://github.com/nobodyAtall/msm7x30-3.0.x-nAa ?

This is an unofficial build of CM10.2.
This is an attempt to stay close to official cm10.2 and not make crazy hacks to make things working.
This is a pure CM build, only contains official CM features. I will not add any other external feature/app/etc.
For an up-to date working/not working list, bug tracker, useful guides & FAQ, visit our website:
http://legacyxperia.github.io
Requirements:
* Only use the included kernel for 100% compatibility, bug reports with non-standard kernel will be ignored.
* MT15i (Neo) users need to flash MT11i (Neo V) ftf in order to remove /vendor partition and have increased /system & /data space
Installation instructions:
1. Flash boot.img (in the zip) with fastboot or FlashTool
2. Install update zip in CWM recovery
3. Install Google Apps (gapps) zip in CWM recovery (this step is optional for those who don't want Google Apps)
4. Wipe data (do this only if you come from stock ics or if you have problems like Force Close after installation)

Kitkat 4.4
Happy to run kitkat on my Xperia Neo V. Can't really believe my eyes. Just got an update on my Nexus 7 from Google yesterday only, and here is Mike(the God man) enabling one for my phone. Just loving it.
More than 200+ MB on fresh install. Check the screenshots. Its 195MB with 21MB of settings itself.
F**king fast and smooth. Cant believe this is just an alpha ROM.
Kudos to Mike. Forget 10.1, 10.2. 11 is the best ROM for our XPERIA models.
Issues so far:
1. The OK Google is not working, infact it is not taking any voice commands at all. Is it with me or some others are also facing the issue?
2. Call quality is different, cant say better or worse, but tone is different definitely.
fantastic! although as Spanish user, I see the translation into Spanish is not complete.to activate the onscreen buttons are very large, it can be changed? and when you enter the pin numbers are misplaced I see nothing but the browser works very poorly, even so this great!
I've just installed the Alpha build on my Neo V.
It's too good for a alpha build.
Very smooth, no crashes yet, no launcher reloading even after using heavy apps like Chrome.
It's the fastest ROM I've tested since Gingerbread.
I'm curious about the battery life. I'll test it tomorrow.
Many cm features are missing, but the past has shown that the cyanogenmod team is working very fast.
ART is missing too, I hope it's possible to get ART running on our Xperia devices, on 1GHz singlecore CPUs the performance gain should be great!
a fantastic rom i would say all workings....... but the strange problem is i cant connect my phone to pc ..dont know how but plzz help me..
using neo v
edit: its working now i just done restarting and done unmount and mount sd card and it works
but no sd card connected as properly usb mass storage not working

For OK Google to work, you need to switch Language in Voice Settings to English (US).
Sent from my Nexus 4
Well, ROM is really smooth and fast, however I noticed some problems with layouts and menus. PIN layout is small in height a little bit, I can see only upper half of the numbers. When I display menu with the Menu button, I can't use submenus, for example 'Sort by' menu in Apollo. However, when I use action overflow, everything works.

DD,
Can you give us a Kitkat?
Okay, as much as I love the stock launcher, you guys really need to see the difference between it and Nova(Beta). Its night and day. You can tweak Nova to make it look almost exactly like Launcher 3 too!
PS-Mike, you should know that at the moment, thanks to you, my Neo V has a more customizble CM 11 build than my Nexus 4. You're doing AMAZING work, thank you for this.
Edit-1) I have no problems with Wi-Fi, even though it is stated as buggy in the OP.
2) The hotword 'Okay Google' doesn't work, even with English(US) selected.
3) Couldn't check the call quality since I don't have an extra sim card. (Using this as an emergency phone.)

F.A.Q
Q. Can i install CM12 over CM11 without wiping data?
A. This is not recommended, you have to wipe everything to upgrade from CM11 to CM12
Q. What recovery does this ROM support?
A. You can use Kitkat Compatible CWM recovery to flash it (6.0.4.5+). Also, we'll integrate CWM 6.0.5.1 in future builds as a permanent solution.
Q. Which GAPPS package should i install?
A. You can install "NANO GAPPS" if you haven't re-partitioned your system OR you have stock System Partition size.
Q. How much System Partition size is needed to flash this ROM?
A. you can flash this ROM on your stock system partition but it is recommended to have 1GB System Partition as ART runtime requires more space. also, it's advisable to have more space on system partition if you would like to install standard GAPPS package.
Q. How can I increase System Partition space?
A. You will need to flash PIT file in ODIN or heimdal to re-partition the System space, it is recommended to have 1GB System Partition as ART runtime requires more space. for more details about PIT files & re-partitioning click here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...es/mod-partition-internal-memory-app-t2538947 and here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...ivatives/mod-increase-partition-size-t3011162
another PIT files are here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50750761&postcount=509
Q. I didn't like the ROM or I want go back to stock ROM or this ROM didn't worked & want to revert back, how can I?
A. Yes, you can revert back to Stock ROM or any other ROM, you can wipe everything & flash the ROM of your choice whether it's stock or AOSP based ROM. Please follow this steps to revert back to your ROM (these steps are for total noob users)
1 - Go to recovery mode
2 - Make sure that your recovery is compatible with Kitkat if you are flashing a ROM based on Kitkat. If not then flash a Kitkat compatible recovery (as mentioned above).
3 - Flash your ROM.
Q. Can I flash another kernel after flasing this ROM?
A. Yes, of course you can flash kernel of your choice, just reboot to recovery & flash the zip.
Q. I guess I have soft bricked the device, what should i do now?
A. Follow the guide here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help/guide-fix-unflashable-soft-bricked-gsii-t1457458
Q. Can I apply another theme on this ROM?
A.Yes, you can search for CM12 themes on xda or on the Play Store, install it and apply the theme from the Themes section on Settings.

I'm pretty sure that CM don't have a theme engine on 5.0, also, you don't want to apply a theme on a unstable rom.

Updated OP with gapps ( I did not test the ROM with gapps )

I'm pretty sure that CM don't have a theme engine on 5.0, also, you don't want to apply a theme on a unstable rom.

Guys, I beg you not to litter thread useless messages. This thread is needed for the developers!
I will test as soon as I can, thanks dude
Have downloaded and installed this rom.
General function is smooth but was unable to install Gapps provided due to no storage space after install (have had this with all stock Gapps from Kit Kat too). We might need a nano build for 5.0 Gapps.
Random reboots from lock screen after graphical glitches. If the screen if left on it will stay on fine with no reboots till the screen turns off. Then reboot.
Dialer and call works works but only on speaker. Apps crashing (browser, keyboard etc).
Will have a play around with some settings and apps and report back.
Edit: After a bit more playing with the build, I installed Google Keyboard and got the keyboard working. WiFi does work, when chrome is installed that does work.
Reboots and graphic glitches have stopped but messaging app does not work, it will crash while trying to send, when I reboot it will send old messages and receive new ones (I think as it sent to myself when I tested).
Will try again with Hangouts when I can get it working but need a Gapps package to work on it first.
Any ideas?
Are sources available anywhere?
In addition, bluetooth, camera does not work, dialler hangs massively, few graphic glitches, browser force closes...
i will not try it now but im here to tell you you are the best man because you still think about our device :good:
