I am on Liquidsmooth v3.1 (4.4.4) for my Verizon Note 2 and I cannot send texts. I've used different text programs (default, gosms, handcent etc.) but I've had no luck getting them to send unless I use airplane mode then turn it back off. Then it'll go through but I'd have to do that every single time to get it to send. It also seems like receiving them is rather delayed as well, sometimes by hours. Any suggestions?

Can you text on any other aosp rom? If not then you have the dreaded texting disease that can only be fixed one way. There was a weird issue only affecting maybe 5 or 6 of us where we could text on any tw rom but no aosp rom. Let me know if this is the case and I'll send you instructions to fix.

The last rom I was on which I've been right before today was 4.3 JellyWiz X_V2, that rom also gave me the occasional texting issue. I've been doing some reading and if it helps I'm in northeast PA which apparently where some people with my issues as well.

Yup PA, MD, and VA different parts from them 3 States. I'll re-upload and provide instruction for you shortly.

1.) Wipe everything raw
2.) Flash 4.4.2 TW Wip Build 1 and flash SuperSU 1.93
3.) Boot up and try to send a few texts. They will fail everytime as texting is broke in this build (but this is how the magic happens)
4.) Reboot, maybe try and send a few more texts again (again they will fail)
5.) Reboot into recovery and wipe everything raw
6.) Flash latest CM11 or any other AOSP rom
7.) Reboot and Profit!

When you guys wiped everything, did ya wipe cache, dalvik, data, system, internal storage and format data, OR just a factory reset? I'm assuming cache, dalvik, data, system, internal storage and format data, because that is ALL.
Can you elaborate a bit? Thanks guys.

I wiped everything but external sd. One other person who tried this was able to get this to work by doing everything but internal and external sd. I was so pissed off at this issue and I worked on it for months I wiped everything just to be safe.

Right on man. I prefer wiping everything myself. Going to download that beta build again and give it another go. I'll post back my results when I get a second.

Full wipe would be what you're doing.
Factory data reset/cache/dalvik
After you flash the ROM let the phone sit for 5 minutes and before doing anything else...reboot the phone.
Let it settle again. Report back with results.
Hope this helps.
downloading again now will try and let you know .thanks for the info

I'm not using any ROMs yet. My Amaze is still sitting in its box.
I'm just going off my experience with flashing ROMs on the MT4G.
New one every few days. Just some general tips and tricks I learned from flashing ROMs.
It may or may not help with your situation. I know often it did for me.
If it's a technical issue perhaps posting in the BeastMOD thread would better assist you.

Yea, always let a new flash sit for 5-10 minutes. When you change framework, everything needs time to 'settle'.
You also might want to try the Revolution HD Super Wipe for the Amaze, you can find the link in Mikes ROM post. It's simple and I've used it bouncing between the two, I prefer BeastMod and have had no problems, it's much faster than stock and has been very stable. Like the previous post said, it needs some time to settle in and I usually throw in a reboot or 2 and you're good to go.

I've tried to install the LiquidSmooth ICS v1.5 rom and have ended up with no service and data several times. I use rom manager and delete cash. I've also tried Clockworkmod with the same results.
One thing that I was wondering is why I cant access the bootloader menu when I reset. I see the options, but then it blows by and questions me if I want to update or not(this is how I get back to a usable phone after failed rom install attempts). I dont remember how I rooted this phone back when it first came out. I'm just wondering if that has anything to do with my problems.

When you go through that update it brings you back to that firmware? If so it means there is an ruu on the root of your sd.
Also when flashing a new Rom you need to format everything, not just cache. That's why you're having issues.
I also recommend using 4EXT recovery

Your were right about the SD card. I copied the LiquidSmooth ICS v1.5 MR2 rom to a spare card and I was able to access the boot loader menu. I went into ClockworkMod Recovery v5.8.0.2, wipe data, wipe cash and installed the rom... Unfortunately I still have no service or data.

When installing a new ROM, you should always go through your recovery. I use 4EXT, and it works great. To get to your recovery, ensure that your sdcard is free of any PG05IMG files in the root directory. You should always create a nandroid backup, wipe/format to factory defaults, install your ROM, then wipe cache and dalvik cache. You can then install any flashable zips on top of that.

And that fixed the rest of it. I updated the radio from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1864157
Funny thing though.. I dont have my wifi indicator on top anymore, but it works fine.
One more thing.. This ROM is bare-bones. How can I check my voicemail other than *86?

As far as the wifi goes, you should be able to turn that off/on in the interface settings from within the ROM

Do you use any kind of volume booster? I cant hardly hear people. I've tried a few, but they only boost your headphone and back speaker volumes.
Also, do you pay for the visual voicemail?

International Player 5,0 on PACMAN ROM wifi stuck on downloading status. Happened before and went away for no apparent reason and now is back to stay. Wifi was working fine, but now the playstore sticks on "downloading." Since wifi was working, and still is for other stuff, would using a different kernel help? Has anyone resolved this?

ya i would say that maybe boot into recovery, backup, wipe: dalvik cache, cache, factory reset, system. then go back and install the rom again and see of the issue persists.

Thanks for replies - will bite the bullet later today (located S.E. Asia, so a bit out of sync).
I am pretty sure that I have a borked radio. I was running a "pre-flicker fix" Avatar ROM and upgraded to the 10-22 CM nightly. It worked great for about 4 hours and then lost the ability to send texts or make calls. I am trying to work my way through the steps to fix a messed up radio. I downgraded TWRP to 2.3.3 so I could apply the stock ROM, but the stock ROM hangs on the boot screen. I did apply the correct boot.img.
What am I missing?

Yes
Ok, so I am getting close to having a fully functional phone. I got it working, but it was all luck. (note: I tried each of these steps before, just not in this exact order)
a. I installed a TWRP backup of my Avatar ROM
b. flashed the appropriate boot.img
c. then flashed the Avatar ROM and gapps over the top of the backup.
It is functioning, but I am unable to access the internal storage. In ES Explorer, I can get to "/external_sd/"(which contains files) and "/mnt/sdcard"(which is empty) but if I try to click on the sd card icon it says "SD Card empty, unmounted or not present. I am unable to save screenshots and pictures because of this. This could stem from the SD swap I did.
Now that I have the radio working, I think I want to just start over with the device, without the sd storage, some of the apps are not working correctly. The factory reset I did blasted a lot of stuff. Also my download speeds are VERY slow... it says 4G but I don't believe it. Does anyone have a link to a good walk through on completely starting from scratch on a phone? What is the most stable CM ROM that does not have screen flicker?
thanks for the help guys
I had this exact same issue with 10/22. The radio died, and in the process of trying to fix it, the internal sd disappeared.
I ended up doing a full RUU following the steps at unlimited.io (ignoring the chmod step and the sudo parts of the commands since I'm in Windows). Then, HTCDev unlocking again, installing TWRP and Viper. Now, it seems to be working okay.
I'm having bad luck flashing the CM nightlies lately, not sure if it's just my phone, but I had the same issue even with the 10/18 experimental build.
I did end up getting it going. I built off of what I did in my previous post. I have to format the phone's data partition (mounded via TWRP) to get it to go.
