Wallpaper stretching fix (kind of) - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

More a work around.
tired of it stretching my wallpaper. so the idea hit me. give it some dead space to stretch so the end result is "unstretched" effectively.
first I made my desired wallpaper 1920 pixels tall the same as the screen.
I then started adding "padding" turns out 240pixels top and bottom is what you need.
canvas the height by 240pixels (so you end up with letter boxing 240 on both top and bottom) and when you set the crop on android (encompasing the padding) the end result is the proper wallpaper unstretched
do NOT do this for the lock screen as it properly displays what you select without "blowing" it up.

[Q] wallpaper crop changes between tall rectangle and short rectangle

My device randomly changes the wallpaper crop selection from the tall rectangle like I want and the short fat rectangle like I don't want. I am using ADW EX and running viperROM. After reboots or even after just pressing home the wallpaper will go from the tall rectangle crap to the short fat rectangle crop. Sometimes it fixes itself after a few seconds and sometimes now. It just happened a few minutes ago and now the crop selection for the wallpaper is short and fat when it used to be tall rectangle.
Why does it randomly change back and forth? I am runnning ADW EX and it randomly switches crop boxes both when I have Sense and it's features frozen and when i have them present. it is currently staying in the short fat box, even after reboot and whatnot.
So I was effing with it a lot and I unfroze Sense, again, and launched sense and could get the tall rectangle when from the home screen I hit menu, wallpaper, gallery, folder, picture, then crop came up in the tall rectangle.
Also with Sense launched, if I went to Gallery, folder, picture, menu, set as, wallpaper, the short fat crop box came up.
wtf is this?
Lol idk its odd I've been messigg with this too, not as much as you have tho, I didn't think it was that big of a deal, prolly has something to do with adw, as when I moved on to cleanrom 2.9.5 I've never seen the short fat one again LOL

[Q] landscape/portrait wallpaper glitch?

I just realized that when I apply a wallpaper, the only way i see the totality of the actual wallpaper is in portrait mode.
When in landscape mode, the lower part (and I assume the upper part) gets truncated...
Is this just me or did I just now realize it?
I use picspeed to apply the wallpaper at 1280x800
I guess I'm not the only one after all! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1423360&page=4

[Q] Alter device screen size & origin?

Hello. Does anyone know of an app or hack that will allow me to constrain the OS display to a certain size and position on the physical screen? I have a Nexus 7 that I would like to use for an antique radio mod project. It would live behind an opening in the wood case. But the screen is too big (in both dimensions) for the opening. So I would like to be able to make the OS think it is working with fewer pixels and choose the new origin. That way I could keep the notification bar at the new top, the soft buttons at the new bottom, and see both new edges.
Thanks for any pointers!

Landscape screen size

Any of you have issues with applications in landscape view? There doesn't seem to have enough screen real estate to look at content. Most of the time there is one or two rows of content. I have to scroll alot. Alot of apps also does not recognize the dpi to fully utilize the screen. For instance on the nexus 9, in portrait when I am in Google now I am able to see two columns while with the z3tc there is only one column.
I haven't had that problem

Firestarter resolution

Hi Guy's,
I have firestarter installed on my firetv box and is running great the only problem is that the resolution seems to be outside my screen meaning that I can barely see the date and clock on the above right corner and when I load apps I can only see half of the writing...I guess somehow I need to zoom out perhaps but I couldn't find an option to do so...so I can see the entire Firestarter screen.
Thank you for you help!
Hi in settings go to the first option "display" here you can set the screen resolution ie 1080p or 720p but there is also an option to adjust the aspect ratio there are 4 arrows top bottom and each side and you adjust the screen until the arrow heads are just touching the sides..
