What's Broken:
HALO's "Hide when inactive" function isn't working properly (sends the HALO bubble completely out of sight)
Please report all other bugs experienced here.
How to flash:
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
Flash-freeze the ROM & GApps at the coldest temperature possible! (flash as usual, hehe)

[HOW TO][4.2.2+] Port Custom Roms From Other OMAP 4 Devices (REVAMPED!)

This works only on SafeStrap.
If you want to install this on BMM, then replace the META-INF folder in the zip file with one form a rom compatible with BMM
I don't own the cdma sypder but if sufficient people want it for the sypder then i can try but I need someone who can create a GSM to CDMA patch incase the network doesn't work and resolve other issues!!!

Lol, I downloaded one yesterday, would try to port! Thanks!

Here's the story...
First,I couldn't flash it with BMM,there was an "error 6",so I replaced the META-INF folder,flashed the rom + Banks standard gapps and after the bootanimation first screen was "system ui has stopped" and I couldn't press "ok" button or do anything else...
I wiped system 2 again and this time I flashed the rom + Slim minimal gapps.
I had a "system ui" error again but I waited a little and then I could press ok.
I finished the wizard process and I installed the Herathon theme,but when I want to apply it I had a soft reboot,every time...
I'm back to LS for now...

I'm sorry, It is compatible with SS (just switched to SS, my bad). I flashed it with the minimal gapps (just the play store and play services from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/themes-apps/standard-minimal-gapps-t2012857 ) and it booted without any problem. The screenshots I posted are the ones I took form my Razr Maxx itself. Just try recreating the system and then flash just the rom, then the gapps.
Did anyone else face such an issue????
I just flashed it again and installed the theme. It did soft reboot but it worked

XT912 CDMA Spyder / RAZR
Looks like an interesting ROM, I would really like to see you add support for the xt912 CDMA RAZR.

I don't want to switch to SS but I will try one more time with those minimal gapps.
What do you mean by "flash just the rom,then the gapps"?
Flash the rom,boot the system and then flash the gapps or flash both and then boot?

Yes,it worked like that with me also but it doesn't working with Tinted Status Bar,like this,you see?

Rom seems operational, however i am very picky.On a scale of 1-10 on acceptable or not as a daily driver i give it a 5 or 6 depending on who is asking.Nice work . I am sure there is other bugs however I don't got time atm to fiddle around much sorry.
Bug report for me so far: Cannot send MMS videos via rom messenger app.Says limit has been reached, meaning to big of a video.I have not tested other messenger apps on play.Also during a phone call the roms phone app does not input users voice when trying to have a conversation via speaker phone.I can hear them however they cannot hear me.

The mms is a problem with all cm based roms. Try using hangouts instead that should solve all the problems
I'm not facing any issue with the speaker phone. This is actually a pretty neat rom

I am wondering does the speaker phone issue have anything to do with installing the audio themes?Because i did not install any audio themes.I would not know why a theme would have anything to do with speaker phone not working.But one thing i know for certain my speaker phone works on stock JB and on this rom it does not, i also double checked just to make certain i was correct before replying again.

Flashed it few hours ago and been "torturing" the phone since, so far everything works perfect, fast, smooth and stable. See some guys having issues with MMS, it works fine for me, without any additional settings.Would try with JBX tomorrow, but from my experience, only one rom that worked perfectly with JBX was Liquid Smooth, on my device at least. Every other rom had issues with JBX, making the phone unusable as a daily driver.
Keep up the good work!

Any chance for spyder support? Also what is smart phone call setting listed in the op?

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our goo.im page linked above. It's new, but expanding fast. Just like us!
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

FAQ
FAQ and Tutorial
Q: I love Carbon but I don’t type in English. How can I change my default keyboard language to <insert your language here>?
A: The stock android keyboard in Carbon comes with the ability to download a variety of language packs. To change it go to Settings>Language & input>Android keyboard (AOSP) settings button>Input languages. Uncheck “use system language” and select the language that you would like to use.
—————————————————————————————————————————–
Q: I see you guys make something called “Nightlies”. What are those?
A: Nightlies are experimental builds that are released each night with the latest features, and bug fixes, which keeps you up to date but may also be dysfunctional due to the adding a new features and code.
—————————————————————————————————————————–
Q: How do I switch from my current ROM over to Carbon?
A: (These directions are assuming you are already rooted and have installed a recovery manager, preferably TWRP)
(1.) Decide whether you would like to use the stable release version of Carbon, or whether to use the nightly version of Carbon
(2.) Once you have decided, download the correct file of Carbon for your specific device using the goo app on your phone or from the goo website (make sure you know your device’s codename)
(3.) Download the corresponding GApps file using goo app on your phone or from the goo website (20130301)
(4.) Make sure you know where both files are on your phone’s sd card and then reboot to recovery
(5.) MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP of your current ROM so you have something to go back to in case anything goes wrong
(6.) If you are switching to Carbon from another ROM, you must do a full wipe before flashing Carbon, please follow these steps to wipe: Factory reset, wipe system partition, wipe cache and dalvik once more.
(7.) Now once everything is wiped, flash the Carbon zip you downloaded and then IMMEDIATELY after flash your GApps zip.
(8.)(Optional) If you have a custom kernel you would like to flash, flash it now.
(9.) Reboot your device and allow it a few minutes to startup, it may take some time on first boot.
(10.) You’re all done. Enjoy using Carbon!
REMINDER :
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>

*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, We will laugh at you.
*/
Q: What is “dirty” flashing?
A: Dirty flashing is when you do not wipe any of your data or the system partition before flashing a newer version of Carbon.
—————————————————————————————————————————–
Q: I am using the stable version of Carbon, can I switch over to the nightly builds (and vice versa) without clean wiping?
A: If you are already running Carbon you can switch over to any version of Carbon by dirty flashing (unless directly stated that a wipe is required in the changelog).
—————————————————————————————————————————–
Q: If I am already running Carbon, do I have to reflash GApps every time I dirty flash the newest updates?
A: No, Carbon has a built in script that backs up the system partition and will reapply your GApps automatically when you flash the newer version of Carbon.
—————————————————————————————————————————–
Q:How do I update my version of Carbon?
A: If you are already running Carbon and would like to update to the latest version, you can simply dirty flash the newest version on top of your current setup (unless otherwise stated in the changelog).

Good luck!

Well the most members are from Liquid team
It has so much great things, like backup of scripts or gapps
See changelog ! Everybody has its favourite, I hope this rom will be yours
A couple of questions, currently I'm on JB stock:
- What is the battery performance of your ROM?
- Can you use any kernel or should use only the one that comes with the ROM?
- If Kernel cant be changed, do you have the options to amplify the sound like the Dorimanx Kernel have?
(personally this is the most important thing because the audio in the S2 is very low)
Thanks for your answer.
well....lets see......I will add it to my 1st slot now for testing purpose ....
but...ma8 ....after seen screenies it look almost like RB tho..........anyways....just a [Q]= is it compatible with doris masterpiece?...
And you could add a bit more info about ROM itself.......features...etc...eh?...
I saw features list in site...but it'd be nicer if everyone could read it here....:highfive:...
Keep up the good work team!

Mate, thanks for a new thread.
Hope to see you here more times, because the last dev barely appears on his thread.
Keep up with the good work, we are here to help and give some ideas.
So, i'm asking if you can include an "data/app" in your rom, because when i flash a new rom, i always include this.
All i have to do is:
- Extract zip to my PC
- add data/app on rom's root;
- copy all my apps to there;
- go to meta-inf and add in update-script:
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p10", "/data");
package_extract_dir("data", "/data");
Re-zip the rom
This allows me always include my applications in the rom....so if you think it's a good idea you can add this feature at futures roms.
Dev ,the old dev was angry of facebook and I can not make a comment.please steve stevens on facebook make me on!!
When come more works to future for this great rom I give a donation today!
Please make on facebook steve stevens on start !?:thumbup::thumbup:

Dirty Unicorns is a custom ROM built with stability in mind and optional customization. The idea to start this ROM began out of pure boredom around 4.1.2 on the EVO 3D and later turned into a form of an addiction (a good one) to see where we could go from there. We have since expanded to more devices to include the HTC One, Nexus 5, SGS4 and many more. We quickly realize that users loved what we were doing as well as other developers because it was done the right way. We've always had fun doing it and take pride in knowing that we've done it without having to bug the end user for donations to pay for server costs and/or any of those sob stories you hear. This ROM is 100 percent free and will remain that way.
Those wanting to use our ROM as a base are more the welcomed to do so but please maintained the credits/thanks below, do not ask for donations as it wouldn't be fair to do so considering and let us know as we often like to contribute to other projects.
As stated above, we love to maintain authorship but we also like to publicly praise those that have helped us along the way with our wonderful project. With that said, this wouldn't be possible without the work and help of those listed below THANK YOU ALL!!
| OmniROM | AOKP | CM | ChaOS | Paranoid Android | Slim ROMs | Preludedrew | Team Black Out | Official Testers / Translators |
Please check our gerrit/github for full credits/thanks of individual contributors
Believe it or not, we are human and we do forget things. If we have left someone out of the credit/thanks list, just PM us and we'll gladly add on to the list.

No workee...errored out immediately in TWRP.
I will have to fix the download tomorrow then. Sorry about that but it should have worked in TWRP. Maybe AFH did something while I was uploading it.

No worries...
Did you make sure to remove the assert check ( if any) in the updater scrip?
Something is wrong with the download. It shows that the zip is 168 mb but the zip doesn't show any files inside

Don't worry, I'm uploading a fixed new zip but the same version. this time I made sure I modded the build.prop, added the i777 modules in /system/lib/modules/, fixed the updater script to allow install on our phones and added Renderbrokens 6/22 kernel and sectouchkey.kl file in /system/usr/keyouts/, and finally changed from GT-I9100 to show SGH-I777 when connected to a pc. ill check it when it's done uploading.
EDIT: It's done now and I hope it works for you all. :thumbsup:
Well, took me a little bit to get it going and smooth, but seems pretty snappy so far. I like the level of customization, and the way the controls are laid out.
Just installed this rom previous night. Overall smooth and has plenty of features. Battery life as good as any Cm rom, but some features are altogether incomplete likewise toggles in notification bar cannot be re-arranged and video playback is also buggy.
Any chance that the versioning on the ports will be maintained? This is a pretty good ROM.
Aaaaaaargh...this is such a good ROM, but MMS is giving me fits. I like Hangouts, but everytime I try to send an MMS, it FC's. I've tried Textra, and it just sits, doesn't send, tried stock Messaging, no go there either.
I did an uber-clean install, even wiping preload. I did NOT wipe the data partition. Would that have caused me any problems?

Doubtful, it's likely your APN settings. 99% of the time that's the cause, especially since you're having the issue across multiple apps.

I've had the same APN across multiple ROMs and this is the first one to choke on it... from this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1791526
I'll recheck them though.
EDIT: Went in and changed the port to 8080 and it started working again. Bizarre.

Sheesh...still getting Force Closes on Hangouts, and stock Messaging will FC then try to send... I don't know what else to try.

Too bad you gave up, it's a good rom and those problems you were having were the result of apps misbehaving... not a rom issue. You could have cleared data like razen said, booted into recovery and cleared caches, then you would have had no problems.

If I did a clean install in the first place, what is there to clear? I did the exact same thing going back to SlimSaber, and it all works like a charm. I'm not disputing that maybe I dorked something, but I'm pretty sure I did a good clean install.

AICPAndroid Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

Full Changelog link: goo.gl/mIgmYG
Don't disable Heads-Up. You wont be able to answer phone calls otherwise.
You tell...
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Lollipop. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
How to flash:
Don't do it if you don't know it
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes
CHANGES (READ THIS BEFORE FLASHING!):
=====================================
YES. Starting with June 14th, 2017, AICP is going to build rootless builds.
This change will happen during a short period of time.
I could explain the decision for that,
but that would not be understandable for all users, so i put it this way...
Going rootless means that the ROM will NOT come with any Root or SU built in anymore.
There will be no Magisk - as a buildin root solution - be provided when the user flashes the ROM zip file.
What you will have to do (If you don't do it by now):
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
IMPORTANT: Uninstall Magisk (using inbuilt Uninstaller) BEFORE booting to recovery, then flash ROM.zp + Magisk 13.0 Beta or LaOS Addon SU or SuperSU)
Then follow the instructions below..
You will have to flash a root solution of your choice (lineage-su addon, SuperSU or Magisk) by yourself after the ROM.
I will link the appropriate solutions here in this post.
REMEMBER:
First flash the ROM, then your desired root solution!
This MUST also be done on every dirty flash to ensure root is not lost!
This MUST be done, when using the OTA app too! Just add the "root" zipfile after the ROM!
What will be noticeable to the user:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. We had to cut out some features for getting this done. Those are:
a. The SELinux switch in the dev options is gone for now.
This can also be done by other apps, if necessary.
b. The feature to flash another bootanimation from AICP Extras is gone.
You can still use a flashable ZIP from TWRP or Substratum.
c. The builtin logcat feature in AICP Extras will be gone.
Most users did not use it either as it only can store max. 400KB.
We already advised to use Catlog or Syslog Apps (both free on Play store).
Remember that both need root!
d. The builtin "System app remover" will be gone, as it required root to run.
2. You will, of course, not see Magisk Manager in the app folder, of course.
3. Remember that without a root solution some other apps e.g. Kernel Audiutor will also not work.
Whatever you choose. Lineage SU options are in dev options in settings. The others use separate Apps.
Links to tested root solutions (download from the thread):
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Magisk (remember that v12 need the Manager to be flashed separately. v13 will have it buildin the flashable ZIP:
Magisk
Magisk 13.0 beta
SuperSU (Use whatever works for you, stable or beta):
SuperSU XDA Thread
SuperSU
Lineage SU-addon (check your needed version 14.1 arm or arm64!):
LineageOS Addon Su
-> the removal zip is available here too.
KERNEL:
Kernel in this rom follows CM source with custom additions.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
Check here for latest F2FS compatible recovery by @invisiblek: http://www.invisiblek.org/twrp/
You can still use CWM and OTA app, but only to download zip file and flash it manually from within recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder on your internal SDcard.
Nice more lilipop Roms to play with. Thanks a lot.
Safestrap
Sorry, can i use this rom for safestrap ?
Been running since last night. No problems. Absolutely love it so far
Just used the gesture anywhere and app circle!!!! This is my new DD for sure thank you and keep up the good work. Nice to see s4 development still happening
Installed it works flawless everything works so far and very snappy.
Typo in features section for ad blocker. xD
I'm pretty sure you can only flash touchwiz ROMs with safe strap
My wifi hot spot doesn't seem to be working. Turns on but isn't seen by the laptop printer or tablet. Can anyone else try and let me know before I try a reflash
Yes, great ROM, I'd been on MIUI holding on because of the look and feel. So glad I switched over, this will also be my daily driver. It's such a smooth experience. KTs recent lollipop kernel is compatible and compliments the ROM well.
I haven't had problems with hotspot.
Cheers and Thanks!
Tried this out last night but audio fx freaked out on me and made my screen flicker and froze my phone. Back on Skank's Lollerpop for now. Thanks
Fixed for the next nightly.
I have a question - does AICP Lollipop support phone encryption? I use my VZW GS4 on a corporate network and group policy requires the phone be encrypted.
Currently, I am running DANVDH's excellent GPE 4.4.4 rom. Apparently the 5.01 version does not support encryption.
According to ramdisk, your data partition is encryptable: https://github.com/AICP/device_samsung_jf-common/blob/lp5.0/rootdir/etc/fstab.qcom#L14
You can check from Settings -> Security -> Encryption... If ıt doesn't encrypted, you can try to do that...
I tried installing this rom but it would never get passed the boot animation. So I took a look at the logcat while it was booting up and it repeats "E/sdcard ( 237): missing packages.list; retrying" over and over again. I formatted system, data, cache, internal and dalvik before i installed this rom. I also installed the GAPPS package by David Hacker that was linked in the second post after the rom. Any thoughts why my phone won't boot?
Are you using the latest twrp ? I would rewipe and try again. I flashed the same way you did with no problems.
I was using cwm recovery before but after I replaced that with twrp it flashed with no issue. Thank you guys.
seems like AICP 8.0 for me is far out the best out there. but seems like all 5.0 roms ive tried after getting out my car ( after using bluetooth and the car is completely off) my phone will not wake, requires battery pull. anyone else getting this?
also when receiving or dialing a call via Bluetooth it wont transfer to car audio just stays stuck on headset.
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!
Don't disable Heads-Up. You wont be able to answer phone calls otherwise.
You tell...
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Lollipop. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
Don't do it if you don't know it
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes
EDIT: Also, here's a easy-read translation of Megatron007's post found here, which he requested be added to the OP. I second this notion.
-----------------------
Those who are using TWRP 2.8+ need to follow the below instructions to flash, if you are having binary errors during flashing. This will require editing a file in the downloaded ROM zip file.
Step 1. Extract the downloaded ROM zip to a known location (Desktop/Downloads/etc) in a separate folder, using any software you normally use, and navigate to "META-INFcomgoogleandroid".
Step 2. Open the "updater-script" file in a proper text editor. DO NOT use normal Notepad/TextEdit. Use Notepad++ (Windows), Notepad2 (Windows), TextWrangler (Mac OS X), or gedit/equivalent (Linux distros). If you are on Windows and don't want to download software, WordPad (NOT Word) will work.
Step 3. Remove the first line of the opened file entirely, so that the second line becomes the first line. The line needing removal should look like this (as of nightly build 2/21/15):
Code:
ifelse(is_mounted("/system"), unmount("/system"));
Step 4. Save the file, re-zip the folders and files so that they are all listed in the topmost directory of the ZIP file. (Same layout as original file)
Step 5. Re-attempt to flash the rom. (CM11 re-flash might be necessary)
KERNEL:
Kernel in this rom follows CM source with custom additions.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use CWM and OTA app, but only to download zip file and flash it manually from within recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder on your internal SDcard.
You don't need to go back to stock to get GPS to work. Follow this (no data is lost, no flashing to stock is required:
1. Boot into the bootloader as per usual and hook up to your PC so you have fastboot access (May need drivers etc)
2. Run "fastboot devices" in command prompt to ensure your moto X is visible to your PC, if not go back to step 1.
3. Run the following 2 commands to clear your Radio/Modem cache
Code:
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
4. Reboot, and you should have working GPS.
Horrible because I got lost twice and ended up consuming petrol that I need to save.
If its CM 12 based dont you have the out call bug & BT bug?
Thank you for your development for our phones. Its nice to see new ROMs showing up for a device that doesn't get many.
I'm not a big CM fan since all the issues I read about, but once they get ironed out I'll be trying your ROM.
(Sad that the first 3 posts aren't even thanking the makers, rather just complaining right off the bat.)
Outgoing call bug was fixed in yesterday's CM12 nightly.
Any bootloops coming from the standard flash procedure? Say in my case, coming from PAC-ROM? Or should I dirty flash over it?
Thanks for the update. That probably means you just carry the BT issue and battery drain from CM12. Thanks again. I'll tty it out one of these days
Sent from my Moto X
I don't find any BT issue but battery drain is still massive. Another issue I found is with profiles. Activating profiles freezes the system beyond any chance to release it. I needed to activate the restore. Otherwise everything works perfect for me including calling, voip, tethering, vpn, gps, nfc, wifi, lte, certificates, bt, active display. Besides profiles issue the system is fast and stable. Fixing energy consumption and profiles would make it almost perfect.
Need to check these profiles.. We may need some missing parts.. Does it same on CM12?
Never managed to install CM12 on my XT1052 no matter what method I used. I installed it on Galaxy 4 and there I used only trusted unlock features which work without any problem.
What i did to flash CM12:-
(i) Flashed CM11 latest nightly . ( I googled it and found one for XT1058)
(ii) Allowed CM11 to complete the boot.
(iii) Then i dirty flashed CM12 latest Nightly.
If you follow exact steps you will not get bootloop .
and I am on TWRP 2.8.1.0
Hope this helps.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
Q) My Bootloader Is Locked But Can I Try This Without Unlocking?
A) No. Flash this Only if you are on UBL.
Q)I'm On Locked Bootloader Please Help Me Unlock My Bootloader/Root My Phone
A) Please don't ask such questions in this thread. THere are many other threads in General Section Which Can help You.
Q) Can I dirty flash build X over Build Y?
A)(X&Y being both AICP Official Nightlies) If you want to, you may. But Report Bugs Only If You Have Clean Flashed.
Q)"ROM feels laggy after a few days of usage. Please Help Me"
A)
Go to your build.prop. At the end add these lines
dalvik.vm.image-dex2oat-filter=everything
dalvik.vm.dex2oat-filter=everything
Then Go To recovery and wipe cache/dalvik cache (don't skip this step or it won't work!!!!)
basically it makes ART compile more stuff than just the usual apps. it optimises many things.
Downside of this is a slightly longer booting time (AICP Had This Before but has now been removed)
Q) " Help!!! Can't flash anything because of ugly Cyanogen Recovery"
A) Go download Rashr from playstore and flash philz from that app or search for a TWRP Image and flash it with Rashr
Q)FM Transmitter range is very less.
A)Take your standard headphones/earphones/whatever you call it and insert it halfway into the headphone jack. Not completely, just halfway so that the phone doesn't recognise the earpods. Then transmitter range will be improved.
Q)You call it nightlies, yet an update doesn't come on a night to night basis
A) Nightlies for huashan are built in every 36-48 hours gap on the build server
Q)I want to have a lollipop xperia styled AICP
A) Install XperiaPOP Z4 Theme, [if you want you can download some more wallpapers from the link at my signatture] then search for ibanez 7 sony apps port for cm12 and install your choiced apps and enjoy a near to sony experience.
Note: This is what I do, if you have a better setup, please do share and I'll update it here
Q) How do I know when AICP for huashan is going to be built?
A) Here visit this link : http://jenkins.aicp-rom.com/job/android/
Note: If any one else wants to build a cm12.1 based ROM for XSP, here is my local manifests file, feel free to download it and use it
One of the most improtant things that we look forward to in any ROM we are going to flash would be the Battery Backup.. As this is also a custom rom, it will obviously have lesser battery optimisations. Thus to squeeze out as much battery as possible and yet not forgo much on the performance, the following are some battery saving tips and tricks to help you out. This should be universally applicable for all 5.1.x Roms...
Requirements
Clean Flashed ROM
Tangerine Kernel (Any version you prefer)
Kernel Adiutor
Xposed Installer With Framework (Installation Insructions Later)
Power Nap For Xposed
Instructions
Assuming that you have already clean flashed ROM, SuperSU, GApps and have set up your device.
Open Kernel Adiutor
CPU Governor Set To Conservative (Explanation Later)
Open CPU Governor Tunables
Set values down_threshold = 50, freq_step = 8, up_threshold=70
Then go back, set multicore power saving to Enabled and set Apply On Boot at top
Go to CPU Hotplug and apply MPDecision and Apply On Boot
If heavy gamer skip this step else put GPU Governor to simple and Apply On Boot
Go To I/O Scheduler, there put Internal Scheduler fiops, External Scheduler bfq, external read ahead 256 kB and Apply On Boot
Thanks to @ckrishnakanthc , my bro for helping me out with these kernel settings...
Now we have completed half of the process. The other half is having a stamina mode like saver in our phone which is Power Nap for Xposed.
So, here are the instructions to install Power Nap for Xposed.
First and foremost, instructions to install Xposed. This is the method I've followed.
Download xposed-sdk22-arm-2015*.zip from romracer's thread. Please read original thread also for information.
Then download XposedInstaller_3.0-alpha2.apk from rovo89's thread
Flash the zip file from romracer's thread from recovery and reboot and install xposed apk.
Then refer my previous post and join Power Nap's tester g+ community then opt in to be a tester and download app from playstore.
If you are on Enforcing Kernel, then you might want to download the update from the pinned post to get statistics.
Activate Power Nap Xposed Module, reboot and enjoy..
Now by having those kernel tweaks and this Power Nap for Xposed, we can have a better battery backup on our custom ROMs...
Also as for the explanation for having to use conservative governor(thanks to @HipKat 's thread . Do read the thread for more information)
This governor prefers the lowest clock speed of the CPU for as often as possible. Which means that it goes to highest frequency only when a huge and persistent load is applied. This is better than the default governor Ondemand because Ondemand simply ramps up to the highest frequency irrespective of what kind of load it is, even a little load and the CPU goes to full speed thus wasting much power. Hence conservative is more preferred.
By following the above two methods I got a screen on time of 6 hours 15 minutes (screenshot it attachments) and my usage comprised mostly of streaming anime, browsing internet, playing tactile and whatsapp (so I would call it medium usage) and had a total of 14 extra apps installed other than micro GApps and default apps.Well anyway hope this helps you people out.
Some beautiful Apps
If you have Xposed installed then go download Serajr Blurred System UI (LP) . It looks very nice!
Also Another app called AcDisplay is awesome. It's like ambient display but much better (Switch of default ambient display if you are going to try this)
DiscoLight Lollipop!!! (It's In Xperia SP Themes And Apps) .. What's Xperia SP Without A Beautiful LED Music Beat!!!!
It's for Locked bootloader or UBL??
Just Installed, looks very nice and smooth!!
Thanks!!
I will try and make the kernel permissive by default and also the call quality fix cooked up in the ROM by the next or further Update
Here im again... First i want to this is the perfect rom! Best
Some bugs that I'm facing
Slim shortcuts giving me system ui force close
And if i set a pattern and set slim shortcut (torch, greenify + lockscreen)
And when i tap them on lockscreen locked then they dont work..
Whereas on kitkat they worked if my phone is locked..
Torch icon is showing..
It is slim shortcut which is giving me fc.. When i go in lockscreen shorcuts and i add slim shortcut then it gives me fc
And when i add torch(working fine but no icon)
Third when i tap on torvh torch or abt any other shortcut shortcut on lockscreeb then t says to first unlock nd then that shortcut works.. (although in kitkat rom if u add torch or grrenify shortcut on lockscreen it works without unlocking the phone)
In last rom is soooo awesome
First impressions
Very nice rom.
It is very stable, fast and it has good battery life (4-4.5 h on screen).
Calls, and wifi work excellent.
Keep the good work :good: :good:
Sir the rom is best but there is no glove mode in the settings, so kindly include it
I'm sorry bro, my bad. I got confused with Slim Actions on the notification drawer . I'll see what I can do about it. I'll check if the problem is in AICP source or whether it's only for us.
I've updated the bug list in the OP.
Thanks for reporting
I have this problem on RR rom too..
What i do is as soon as the phone finishes booting, i start swiping the screen so it recognizes my touch.. :silly:
Don't know what's causing the problem..
and i also have this weird "Optimising app" on every boot..
