Hi,
So there is this user which upon opening some apps is encountering a request to turn on the GPS and start sharing information with google.
Is there some way to disable the user access to the options through this request?
I mean, I still want him to be able to activate his location component when necessary, but I don't want it to be that easy. I want him to go directly to options-> location-> activation button, instead of just mindlessly poking the screen, conforming with the apps directions.

Hello everybody,
I need help to build a device for medical purpose, the device is composed of a tablet and some external accessories.
The device needs to be in - what I understood is called - kiosk mode, i.e. only my app must be running on the tablet.
To do so, I built an app as launcher, made it the default one. Even so, is still possible to access the settings, the task manager and the phone?
I need to provide the user with the possibility to only use my app, and access the settings of Wifi, and to unlock the pin of the sim to use GPRS but not phone calls. How can I do this?
- I was thinking of modify the Settings apk (to leave only the entry I need)
- I was thinking to remove status bar and home buttons
- I do not know how to prevent phone calls, sms, etc
I have a samsung p3100, on which I installed the last version of cyanogenmod .

This is the thing, i need to make an Kiosk Mode App, this means that the people who gonna use it cant get out of the APP
the kiosk mode disable all the principal buttons of your device, like Home Button, Back Button, Power Button, etc.

The problem is that my app has an Login Activity and i want the customers cant get out of the Login Screen until he signed in, i think you understand me
For do that, reading the guide, i can make the app Starts automatically when the device boot is complety Started by usin the permission to receive the RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED broadcast.
Now the problem is that i need the app stop all the process of "UnClosable APP" almost the customer put the Correct CODE in the Box and click "Login" he can use complety the device and open apps and close and whatever.
i mean a "Key" in a CODE, if the code is equals, and you press Login the app stops disabling the buttons of the device

Apologies if this is in the wrong thread category.
I'd like to permanently remove internet access from either a whole phone or from selected apps. This would create a dumbphone with a touchscreen. This is to tackle a net addiction, yet leave me with the capability of communicating with family via SMS. Existing dumbphones don't have touchscreens and often cause me excruciating pain to use, because of a condition I suffer from called fibromyalgia, which mimics the symptoms of RSI. Autocomplete on touchscreen phones reduces the number & intensity of finger-touches I need to make to type an SMS and are thus relatively freeing.
Would anyone know how this could be done, please? I rooted a phone once or twice but am not capable of following any instructions which require judgement. Please don't take more than a couple of minutes over this because there's a strong chance any advice will go over my head.

Root your phone based on your past experience.
Install Xposed Installer app.
Install xposed framework by clicking install button in the app.
After a few minutes, your phone would ask for permission to reboot.
Reboot it.
It will take around 10 minutes or more to reboot.
Open the Xposed Installer app and click the menu icon on top left of the screen.
Select Downloads.
Search for XFirewall and install it.
Reboot.
Open XFirewall.
Select which apps you want to have net connectivity.
OR
You can try any other normal firewall app if you think it to be better than XFirewall

Do you or does anyone on here please know of any firewall apps which allow the user to commit to a period (24 hours, a week, a year, permanently) without network access? Unfortunately without this kind of restriction I can't trust myself to stay off the web. Five minutes reading the news or Twitter always turns into five hours.

I'm very interested to get this phone, but want to know about an *absurdly* specific feature. Namely; I want to know if it is able to pass bluetooth media buttons through to Tasker.
It's a *very* specific feature, but *very* important for me. Some phones work and others do not, there is no rhyme or reason to this that I can detect.
Could anyone that owns the Pocophone be kind enough to follow these steps to let me know whether the phone has this specific feature?
1. Install AutoInput
2. Open the app and select the option to enable Accessibility Feature for the app
3. Go back to the app and turn on System Logs
4. Go into Log Listing
5. Connect a Bluetooth device with media buttons (play, pause, next etc) to your phone
6. Press the media buttons on the bluetooth device, and see if the app logs the media button presses.
7. Take a screenshot of the log and post it here
I know this is a hassle, but this feature is very important to me (I'll happily explain why if you like), but there is no way to tell if it can do it without having access to the device.

I'm working on doing some automation on my phone, and I want to perform some actions that I'm hoping I can perform using Android intents. I'm not very knowledgeable about how they work or how to find them, but I'm trying to hack some stuff together.
Here's my main question: how do I go about figuring out if I can use intents for a particular task or see what I can do with intents?
For example, I would like to be able to trigger the "Share trip progress" feature within Google Maps automatically (using Flic buttons, which allow me to use Android intents). I don't know if I can set up an intent myself to trigger this action in the Google Maps app, and I don't really know where to start in order to try to find out how to do it.
Another example is that I would like to trigger Google Assistant with my Flic button, but I want to use my Anker Roav Bolt in my car to respond to the action. Flic has a function built in to trigger Google Assistant, but it's a lot more invasive in that it opens the prompt on the phone and disrupts my Google Maps navigation as opposed to if I long-pressed the button on my Roav Bolt and it just listens for instructions without disruption. I have no clue if this is something I could trigger using Android intents, but I'd like to find a way to make this smoother.
If you have solutions to these two problems, that would be great. But as I said, I would also like to have a better general understanding of how I could find this stuff myself for future stuff I want to set up on my phone.
