I have no idea what these two icons are in the Status Bar. I've Googled for explanations of Status Bar icons for the M8 and clicked on 3 different sites but none of them included these two icons. They're to the left of the WiFi icon.

Ah. Thanks for responding.
I purchased the phone from Swappa but it wasn't advertised as the HK edition. Is the HK Audio Mod included in non-HK edition devices?

I would like to know if that's what it is too, I'm also stumped.
Boom sound and NFC. I do not have HK mod and have the icon and always have even stock unrooted
Yep, NFC and Boomsound. NFC can be turned off in settings if you don't use it. Boomsound will only show up if you are using the speakers. If it is stuck on, you may need to reboot. My wife's did that one time when she first got the phone, mine on the other hand never has.
I always thought it some kind of cooling system as most times it was on about the same time my phone was a little hot. Lol

Is there a way you can replace the gingerbread like notification bar with the one that comes with the stock Vibrant?
I'm hoping that there's a way of making it larger, because it feels like the icons are a bit tight up there. I can't really read the battery percentage because the numbers are a little small.
Any ideas how we could change that as well?

made this for myself but you can use it. This makes the numbers larger and eaiser to see but it also makes a few other changes. This changes the GPS icon, the vibrate icon/silent icon, and the it puts back the 3g icon instead of the H

This does not change the pull down notification bar!!
I would like to see this, all the themes out there are various colors of the gingerbread icons...
Gunner this looks great. How do I instal this?
Got it, thanks
What if we just took the framework from a touchwiz rom and replaced the icons?

Just install the KA5 modem and the status bar will change to the default.
This is some more ICS blue for your status bar.
1% clock
ICS blue icons for 3G/4G, alarm, lock screen, etc...

Thanks. I had to change a ROM or two to get me back in the mood.

it happened to me a lot when I first started. no need to beat yourself up. I'm just psyched you're back. I can flash your corrected work as a base since you're good at the coding stuff then I can just edit tiny things you may skip due non importance. luckily I still had your empty template zip to flash back framework, systemui and pcsc
good to see you back here bro

Looks like a broken "app group" icon (which got covered by the widget).
At least my N7 paired to the Q has no such icon.

My Nexus 7 doesn't have it either, it's just on my Galaxy Nexus....
Well it was until I rebooted, now it's not there anymore. It was similar to the "app folder" icon, except it has a blue outline (like the LED ring on the Nexus Q)... and when you are in the screen to place a widget, the blue outline swirled around the dark circle (like the nexus q does..) I'm pretty sure it's wasn't some kind of broken UI element.. I'm on a completely stock rom, JRO03C.
*shrugs* I tried pairing two GNs to the Q (one is 4.1, other 4.1.1, both stock) neither showed the icon.
Hi, today I noticed this icon in my notification bar, and I really can't find what it is. Anybody knows??

it's what usually appears when the notification bar has run out of space to display anymore stuff....but not in your case it seems! Try clearing any notifications if you have any, otherwise try a reboot
No no this icon actually means that notifications are turned off, turn notifications back on and it wll go away.
Assuming you are running a slightly older firmware too as this icon changed to something that makes more sense a few revisions ago.
Again? This kind of thread pops up EVERY other day and I have answered just about everyone.
Your notifications are off. Turn them on.
Can we get a big sticky thread that says, "IF YOU HAVE THIS ICON IN YOUR NOTIFICATION BAR, LOOK HERE!!". ???
baldi - funny you say that - I honestly thought I'd somehow clicked onto a post from several weeks back as I have answered a couple of these myself

are there any mods to change the arrangement of the icons in the status bar, that is, put the signal, wifi, and mobile data icons to the left side of the status bar like the ios status bar?

I'm not aware of any such module tbh, gravity box is there but it doesn't have option to change carrier label position
i've actually found an xposed module that moves the signal and wifi icons to the left of the status bar. has an option to theme the icon and add carrier label too.
