I have a weird issue with the screen. Sometimes while using the screen just goes black. The device is still on, i can hear music or video playing but can't interact with the device. Only way to fix it is to press the power button to turn off the screen and turn it on again.
KitKat, Rooted with Xposed.
I have a similar issue. I freeze in the lock screen. I have to reboot to fix it. It's been happening for awhile. It's frustrating.

My is turned off 5 days, I was trying everything, do you think can I repair it in support service?
Did you try holding power button+vol up button for 10 seconds...
yes but nothing, that's only for 2012 xperia's serie , Neo is 2011.
btw Iwas trying some stupid things with reading it in Omnius and I get LED turned on. and then It turned on. but after 1 hour i turn it off and again can't turn it on, so I was trying to just connecting it in omnius whit stupid operations and I get it again on. Now It is turned on but that's not solution.

I'm currently having this issue and it's really frustrating, I had it first on the Galaxy S3 with 4.2.1 stock rom, I don't know if it might be an app that might be causing this, basically when i lock the phone the screen turns off but then when i press the power button or the home button to turn on the screen it does not do anything, I know the phone is still on because sometimes if i get a text message i can see the blue led blinking and it will continue to blink even when it's frozen.
The only way to bring it back is by holding the power and home button together in order to reset it.
I tried factory reset and it would not work, I flashed the phone with a custom rom for Paranoid Android 4.3 and it worked great for about a week, no issues at all, but then it started freezing when locked again. I hate this and i'm thinking it might be a hardware issue since I've tried different software versions.
I don't know if it might be an app that might be causing this, basically when i lock the phone the screen turns of but then when i press the power button or the home button to turn on the screen it does not do anything, I know the phone is still on because sometimes if i get a text message i can see the blue led blinking and it will continue to blink even when it's frozen.
Even worst, if i'm listening to music and i lock the phone or if the screen times out and locks when i try to unlock it i can see it's stuck but the music is still playing....
Also, if the phone is stuck and i try to call it, it will not ring not turn the screen on, it's not like the problem is just the physical buttons, i don't know what to do since the phone is out of warranty, I have never dropped the phone and there is no damage on it, it have never over heat either so i don't know what can i do.....
Any suggestions or help would be really appreciated.
hardware issue.I got same problem before but I didn't manage to fix it.

Thank you for the reply, do you know specifically what kind of hardware problem was it? Were you able to fix it or you just had it replaced?

But it's really strange, It is a hardware issue and it should affect all the time, not randomly i would think... I don't know if the problem is with the processor or the buttons, i don't know how to determine that..

The first week with Paranoid Android 4.3 it worked greatm even faster than the stock rom and I also liked it because it is android 4.3, the issue started one week after, and i'm thinking that during the first week i did not install all the apps i use, once i installed all the apps it started happening.
The first time i had the issue was right after the facebook messenger app was updated, i tried uninstalling it and the issue was still happening, if i check the running apps and i can see several of my apps running in the background such as Facebook messenger, Viber, Skype, Avast (6 services) Applock, GO weather EX, whatsapp, Facebook.
Maybe i'm just reluctant to think that this is a hardware issue, cause there is no way for me to get some logs or a hardware report that may show any crashes or anything.. I like this phone, it have everything i need and i refuse to think that it's a piece of crab but i've had nothing but troubles with it since day 1...
I dont think it is SW problem because even flashing multi package stock firmware doesn't fix the issue.I tried replacing lcd and display driver but still remain unsolved.
Edit:I think there is a defective sensor chip which I don't have a unit to test already.
hello, i have same issue, and stil stuck with it, anyone can help me?
I have a Doogee nova y100x for 2 months. It worked perfectly in the beginning but now it keeps freezing and has problems with turning back on.
Sometimes it freezes in an application and then none of the apps will turn on. Just a blank screen. If I try to restart or turn it off, it turns off but won't turn back on. Sometimes while the screen is black and it supposed to be turned off if tap the screen it will steel buzz.
When I remove the battery and put it back, after turning back on it won't turn on my SIM card. And sometimes doesn't get my sd card.
And sometimes it will just simply froze and do nothing.
I tried to reset it, didn't help.
What could I do with it? :crying:
Thank you for your answer!!!
I would use a factory reset. If that doesn´t help I guess you will have to RMA it.

I had almost the same problems with my DOOGEE and I just wanted to smash it into a wall, or you can consider to carry the phone in for service if your warranty is still valid

Hi there,
My LG V10 finger print sensor has not been functioning lately, whenever i try to unlock the device using my fingerprint, it keeps showing the message " Cover the power key with your finger! ", and it never unlocks, when i go to register my fingerprint, it doesn't work either, but SOMETIMES it works if i push the power button harder and it takes more than 3 minutes to register my fingerprint 100%!
Anybody knows if this is a hardware malfunction or a software bug?
I have tried a factory reset, nothing happened!
Thank you all in advance!
If it is in a case it could be having this issue. There was a software update that fixed it for my Verizon V10. Try with out the case.
hmmm.same with me, on MM. is it not working? pressing power key would give me a prompt that i need to press slowly though.huhu

im having the same issue
same thing here but my started after marshmallow update, i have to wiggle the button with my finger and than it registers. and no its not a case issue. im guessing its the hardware issue.
hmmmm... just wiggling and it worked? we do have the same issue dude
so its fixed or not at MM update?
Mine stopped, I reported to LG, they me send it in and they fixed it. Took about a week
send in repair
hi. After you got the phone back from LG, did the fix last? cause I'm wondering is it just a matter of replacing the fingerprint sensor itself or if it was a software issue which I believe. Because the problem I'm having is that it just doesn't offer the option to open the phone up with the fingerprint scanner but when it does it scans fine although half of the time I have to enter a pin which defeats the purpose of me having the fingerprint scanner. It's like it's being turned off and on or something.

Hello guys,
This morning a weird thing happened on my S6 Edge running stock 7.0. A white blank strip, pop-up? Showed up on the middle of the screen preventing any action on the screen (I can swipe to the toggle nevertheless).
Tried force reboot and wipe cache but it doesn't help....
Any clue without having to factory reset ?
Thanks in advance !
Managed to use the phone by disabling data and rebooting, but instant reappear if I enable them. Any way to know where does a pop-up come from ?

Go to app manager and see if any strange process is running. If you find something that isn't ok close process and see if pop up appears again. This way you can determinate which one is causing this
Clearly a malware or something. Try to find it yourself and uninstall it.
Same Problem, additional details
Hi guys,
Having the exact same problem on my gf's s6 edge stock 7.0, updated a week ago or so, any time she's connected to the internet by Wi-Fi or data the popup appears. Only thing we can do is pull down notifications. Recents key works too but useless.
Actually we found a temporary workaround by tethering my LTE connection via Bluetooth, that way weirdly the popup doesn't rise....
Did you find a fix since you got the problem?

I had the same problem, and found out by messing with the "apps that can draw on top" permissions (located in settings--> apps --> 3dot menu --> special access). What I did is I disabled them all and enabled them one by one with internet connected in parallel. It appears that the faulty app is IMS Service, as long as you deny it the permission, the popup won't appear (Conversely as soon as you enable it and you have internet it will pop up again).
Strange that the problem is on a system app though, I hope it is not a virus...
Hope the fix works for you as well!

Thanks for the tip ! I'll keep this workaround in my head. The pop-up disappeared by itself all of a sudden, so I don't know which was the faulty one !

Hello
I have the same problem with a S6 edge.
For information, the white popup appears one week ago, for a whole day and disappears.
And now, the pop up reappears.
The only way to disable it is to disable wifi and data.
At the moment when a I connect the phone to internet,
The tip do not solve it. I disabled notification, and all permissions "apps that can draw on top".
But the pop up still here...
Any other solution ?
