[Q] S3 Heimdall Flashing Problem - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey Guys.
So I am working on a Linux Machine ( Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64 bit ) and I am trying to use Heimdall ( tried Ver 1.3.1 and 1.4 ) to restore a Semi-Bricked 32 GB Galaxy S3 ( GT-I9300 ) to the 4.1.2 JB Stock FW. The phone is able to go into download mode and into it's stock recovery mode. But it doesn't go any further than the white " Samsung Galaxy SIII " Boot Screen Logo upon normal Startup.
When I try to flash the FW files, I get an error on the Radio (modem.bin), the Bootloader (sboot.bin) and the TGSW (tg.bin) part. The Error is as follows : ERROR: Failed to confirm end of file transfer sequence!
I have been searching for Days but I haven't got a workaround. I can't use Odin since I have got no Windows Machine around me. Is there any solution to the above problem ?? =(

First thing first I haven't a clue about Heimdall or Linix Machine!!
Now thats out of the way have you tried to flash a custom recovery like CM,PhilZ etc with Heimdall I suppose it can do that if it can flash stock fimware? The thinking I have is if you can get a custom recovery on your phone and then flash a custom rom then you maybe able to get your phone to boot.
Wait I here you say that's not stock firmware! Well my reasoning is if you can get your phone to boot then on Playstore is a app called Mobile Odin where you can flash actual stock firmware from your phone.
Like i said don't know anything about the software you are using but I thought I would suggest the above..

[Q] Screwed my phone - only have "download custom rom" screen

I'm new here and im only here because i destroyd my S3 software.
i was using cmd 10.1 on my rooted phone but i thought i would try to downgrade it to cmd 9.1
without further thinking (stupid me) i downloaded the 9.1 update from the setting - about phone - etc.
when i then restarted my phone was stuck at bootlogo screen. when i then tried restart to clockworkmod i came right to "dowload custom rom" screen.
i have tried to install a stock rom with odin without any luck and also, by using odin, installed a pit. file. when i now have installed a stock rom i get the normal stock rom boot loader screen but are stuck at that point.
i have also tried to install clockworkmod with odin. just came to the "download custom rom" screen.
Can anyone help me or is my phone totaly broken? :'(

[Q] flashing cwm causes bootloop

Ok, because I was so happy with cyanogenmod on my galaxy s I decided to try to install it on my SII.
Silly me, I decided to follow the instructions. couldn't get my trusty odin working, even after a couple of reboots and reinstalls of kies. Heimdall turned out to be the 64 bit version so I needed to find the 32 bit version. Long story short, the instructions sucked...
Then, I tried to install the suggested cwm. After a reboot, my phone entered a bootloop. I could enter recovery but trying to flash cm10 gave me "Status 7 blabla".
So, I searched on the web for a stock rom to at least get my s2 working again, found one and flashed it. Market keeps on crashing and it's version 4.0.3.
I tried reflashing cwm, cf-root and time and time again it kept creating a bootloop after which I had to reflash the rom with the broken market to get everything working again.
My questions are:
where did I go wrong in flashing cwm? Is there a different version I should flash? what's up with the extremely bad cyanogenmod instructions? Can someone get the market working again?
can someone guide me step by step through the process?
Why don't you flash it via recovery?

because it gives the error "status 7"
I can't install a cwm that doesn't bootloop (I can however enter recovery) and in recovery I can't flash a thing because it throws errors at me
Assuming that you are on stock samsung ICS ROM, flash Siyah kernel from Odin
http://d-h.st/Bcf
After this you will get CWM recovery from which you can flash any i9100 CM version.

quick follow-up:
I had another laptop laying around that was never poisoned by samsung kies, so I decided to give it a try. installed the usb-drivers and used odin to flash another stock-rom version (that actually worked this time )
Then, I flashed cf-root and upgraded to cyanogenmod without any problem.

[Q] update from stock gingerbread 2.3.5 to kitkat cm-11-m8

Hello,
I've read random threads for the entire day but I'm a bit confused about how to proceed.
cm wiki requires the phone to have stock ICS
I remember something about the baseband, using russian Windows tools to update
I don't have Windows
I'm running osx 10.9.4.
What should I do? I'm also afraid of the superbrick bug.
What I've done:
got root with zergRush
tried to install CWM through ROM Manager, got custom recovery 2.5.1.2 (useless? very old?) but can't boot into recovery, first error was something about signature, when rebooting with volume up+home+power I get "can't access to system/csc/hui/system" instead
I tried then updating stock fw with kies for osx; i was stuck in "connecting" forever
tried installing kies in a windows vm; it couldn't even see the phone and failed to recognize it as a media device
What I know:
I can probably obtain a temporary cwm 6.* (supposed to be not affected by superbrick bug) by loading a zip through stock recovery mode
What I would like:
finally get KK
avoid windows
avoid heimdall; i have bad experience and could never compile it, months ago
avoid yellow triangle
BUT
If heimdall is now a working software and It solves everything (baseband included) by running a one line command, it is a welcomed solution.
Thank you!
p.s. hope I'm in the right forum section
You have really old recovery.
If you want to get newest recovery and avoid windows and have root as you said use Mobile Odin pro to flash the newest CWM (6.0.4.5 I think) and afhter that flash CM via new recovery
I don't know why ROM manager installed something so old.
I thought about Mobile Odin. Does it fix the baseband problem?
ROM managers etc. is balast which made a lot of problems. DonĀ“t be lazy and flash manully

[Q] my S3 i9300 got stuck in the cyanogenmod 11 boot loop

yesterday I decided to install cm 11 on my i9300 not with odin but from their site where you can download an exe then connect the phone to the computer then the magic begins (PS: i don't understand anything about flashing rome this is my first attempt so i need a simple solution i can work with )
while cm was installing on my phone something called clockwork recovery mode appeared so I foolishly pressed reboot system after that the mobile rebooted and got stuck in the boot loop
someone help me please!
I tried to follow some tutorials so I downloaded odin 3.04 but the phone didn't get connected. :crying:
Sounds like you stopped it before it installed the rom.
Either flash back to stock or download cm m10 from here, put on your sd card and flash with recovery.

TMOB Cant boot after flashing andriod 5.0 via odin

Hi guys, as topic says i cant boot after flashing firmware with odin. everything installs perfectly in odin it says pass! ad below in details it says success1/fail0. But when odin reboots system its stuck at booting recovery.... And never go further into system. I have downloaded 5.0 from sammobile and http://www.galaxys5update.com/galaxy-s5-stock-firmware/ but samething. I flashed it 2 times, 1 time from each source. Also after flashing i cannot enter into recovery. So i flashed the good old kitkat for now... can anyone explain why i cant boot after flashing rom with odin, does it has something to do with bootloaer. also i did not update through software update thingy/kies caue it says you cant downgrade but i see many article in internet also on xda that you can with odin. whats the truth.
