Can't seem to find where I turn this off.
Thanks in advance
Nevermind, found it in keyboard settings on the actual keyboard.
Though it was usually in general settings.

does anyone know how to disable the automically popping up keypad?
There was a thread kicking around in this forum somewhere... it's something to do with downloading a "blank" virtual keyboard map to your device and setting that to the default input method. Then when it pops up you see nothing (as it pops up nothing!)...
Thnkx CrArc. But i think this method is somewhat to radical for me. I still use the keypad and in some occasions the keypad is the most easy way to do your thing.
I'm looking for a solution that disables the keypad automatically, but when I want to use it it's still available.
Hi, and first of all thank you xdadevelopers for your work! awesome I can have my xperia updated to 2.1 rooted here in Spain!
Now my question is if is possible to disable vibration on the dialpad, 'cause I can't find the option.
I know it's a little silly question but it's bothering me, thank you.
I think you can find the option in settings, sound and display?
but not sure.
thanks but there only can remove sound not vibration
when using the keyboard use the settings button looks like a repair tool there you can disable if is not there go to settings, check keyboard and uncheck it from the default keyboard option, same applies for android one

this works for the keyboard but no effect on dialpad, and when on dialpad settings buttons does nothing.
thank you anyway
Try going into settings "Sound and Display, and untick "Haptic Feedback". It says that it "vibrates when pressing soft keys and on certain UI interactions". Maybe that's the one you're looking for.
i have the same question, i can't remove the vibration on the dial pad.
send from x10a flash with x10i nordic 2.1
I have looked all over forums and internet and I have found no one who is able to disable the vibration from my HTC EVO 46. I cannot stand the dial pad lay out and it showing the call history right above it and can't seem to find a replacement for that either that will be my default phone dialer, not something I have to additionally go to.

Not working, tried almost every option i found on settings regarding vibration and still with no solution, anyway it's not a problem actually, just bothers me it can'be deactivated, thanks everyone.
Same here, my phone vibrate every time i press a number in the dialpad... its sux!
Can anyone tell me how to disable the vibrate you get when pressing a key . It seems like such a waste of battery and I cant find the setting anywhere.
Thanks

Each keyboard has its own settings menu. On the 351 ROM, you have two: Swype and the Android Keyboard. Each has a "Vibrate on Keypress" option.
Thanks I disabled it in the swype keyboard and it's sorted. For some reason I can't get into the android keyboard settings, it just crashes. Is this a bug on the latest streakdroid (stable)?
I'm still getting a vibrate for the buttons. Is it possible to disable it for those also?
Settings>Sound Settings.
Scroll down to "Haptic Feedback" and uncheck.
I don't use Streakdroid, so I can't say for certain what's going on there. The default keyboard may have been removed and the Swype keyboard left in.
Sorted thanks
Is there a reason my haptic feedback doesn't work? I tried the Asus and Google keyboards, but neither vibrates on key press. Vibration works with other functions, so I know it isn't disabled. What's up with this?

Is haptic feedback specifically for the keyboard disabled?
There is a setting for that for each keyboard under the Language & input settings menu. Just find the keyboard you are using and hit the settings button to the right of the keyboard name. The Android keyboard also gives you additional haptic feedback options under the "Advanced" tab such as the duration of the haptic feedback pulse. If the duration is too short your tablet won't vibrate.
Ah, the Android keyboard was set to a vibration time of -1ms. Still can't get the Asus keyboard to vibrate, though.
Sorry I can't be more help I don't use the Asus keyboard much because of its cramped keys and lack of extensive secondary characters. Plus compared to the auto capitalization and word suggestion of the stock Android keyboard the Asus keyboard is pretty weak.

I was mainly using it because the stock keyboard is tiny in portrait mode. Think I might switch to Swiftkey X, though.
I'm running jellybean (Cyanogenmod) and was wondering if there is some way to disable the home and other buttons when the input panel is out? I find myself always hitting them accidentally when typing and it is really frustrating. I have poked around in the settings and did it see anything; nor did I see any apps that do this. The only response on the forum to this question was basically 'practice typing' which is not much of an answer.
