I feel that new KitKat rom increases my MediaPad X1 performance. I am a new member for XDA forum and cannot share outside link at this moment. So, I will make a video gameplay to share you when I can.

Mediapad X1 Antutu result in Android 4.2.2 is 22000 .Did you test it in Kitkat version??
In some devices like LG G2 ,Antutu results decreases as OS upgrades.

I played Asphalt 8 1.4 and GTA 1.05 in high visual graphic setting and no lag and no frame rate decrease .
This is a fantastic device ,i love it

z ultra poor gaming

hi freinds I want help for my z ultra.Let me explain u I got my z ultra about 1 week from now..I was quite happy because I thought now I can use it as gaming device but I am really disappointed with the performance.I am on the latest stock Android kitkat4.4.4 nothing modified...my bro has a gionee elife s5.5 so we decided to compare our devuces gaming capabilities.. s5.5 has an mtk octacore chip and a mali 450mp4 gpu..I was quite confident that. ultra will outperform gionee s5.5.. the first game was nfs most wanted u wil not beleive freinds but gionee s5.5 ran that game in full graphics with motion blur but my ultra was not having motion blur...really disappointed.. I compared other games too such as virtua tennis, gta vice city.in all those games gionee s5.5 outperformed z ultra quite easily especially in gta vice city.so my question is what is the problem of this device..why it is not giving the performance which it should give..vice city lagged a little if I took everthing to max but my brother elise s5.5 ran buttery smooth...pls reply guys should rooting the device will improve anything...

The gpu is comparable to a Adreno 320, the Ultra should easily outperform this stoneage GPU.
thank you for your reply... yes u are right but I think its even weaker than adreno 320..still it performs much better than adreno 330.. guys pls explain what is the problem..completely confused...why ultra runs worse than elife s5.5
Guys pls help.why nfs mw doesnot run at full graphics.plz help freinds should iroot my z ultra? Gta vice city, virtua tennis not performing well, elife s5.5 rocks in those games. Need hlp

Maybe stop playing ancient games and get some optimized newer games like mc4 ,5 or GTA San Andreas? Which are more fun anyway.
Let it run on max graphics on your friends phone and see the stuttering.
As far as I know some games manage the graphic details based on the device CPU and/or GPU
compare the picture quality on both
Okk..thanks. can u suggest some games optimized for adreno 330 gpu..
Currently on unofficial Carbon right now, and had no trouble with max setting on San Andreas, but going back to stock will need graphic reduction due to lag problem. Stock rom might score more on benchmark but custom rom somehow outperform it on gaming
Thanks alot for ur reply freind people here dont respond..okay so should I flash a custom rom on z ultra bcoz I really want to play games smoothly..can u suggest best custom rom for gaming but still giving very good battery life...or is there any way to make. Stock rom run games a bit faster...thanks

There are ways to overclock the CPU and GPU on stock rom with a custom kernel (I.e doomkernel), but some senior members are stating that the code is dirty .
For tweaking and custom rom, you might want to read through the sticky thread, especially regarding DRM key and ta partition (speaking from personal experience :crying.
Most kitkat Base Rom are being discontinued due to lollipop release and the popularity of the device itself. For cm base rom, slimkat does get a stable release and stone ui hd is also available if you are looking slim down stock Base rom. Lollipop or cm12 Base are not recommended (yet) for gaming as there are a lot more developer that have not implement and optimise their apps/games with the new default runtime
I have been using ELife S5.5, and it has an ultimate gaming experience. No Heating problems whatsoever.
Thanks Gionee for making such an awesome phone.!
:good:

[Q] I need some opinions

If someone have SM-G850F (Samsung Galaxy Alpha). He can write me his opinion about this phone. He's look gorgeous, and performance look fine for me. But all experiance and opinions are welcome. And i really care about battery life. Its only just 1860 mAh. Is that's okay ?
I'm one of standard user's (just texting and calls, facebook and whats'app ) . Is this will be enough for me ?
Thanks.
Sorry if my English poor.
Buy another spare battery its removable.
According to GSMarena galaxy alpha had 52hours endurance rating so if you have two batteries then a total of 104hours hehe!
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_alpha-review-1118p3.php
I bought this spare battery charger so I can charge my spare back up battery
Performance is excellent I think on par or in between Snapdragon 808 and 810
Thanks to 720p resolution the GPU can load faster graphics compare to heavy 1080p to 4k resolutions, besides its a compact 4.7 inch device so there's no problem even not full HD.
As of today there's no huge difference when you play a game on a 4k resolution or 720p resolution
Clickme
Execept in terms of speed, huge resolutions needs a powerful GPU to render those graphics well while 720p resolutions like Galaxy Alpha (see attachments) can render faster graphics much smoother.
4k resolutions = same visuals(720p) but less FPS
720p resolutions = same visuals(4k) but much faster FPS
So which do you prefer?
I like compact a phone, easy to handle and to operate and of course not eye catching especially in public places.
Anyway having a powerful and a compact device like galaxy alpha
is just like this Clickme

Mate 10 Pro benchmarks Android Pie

Hi everyone,
I received the Pie update today and did some benchmarks for fun.
Turns out the results are much lower than the registered ones on the websites for Mate 10 Pro with Oreo.
My device:
Mate 10 Pro 9.0.0.161 C432E4R1P11
Tested with latest versions of Geekbench and Antutu from Google Play Store.
Geekbench on Pie, my device
Single Core 1787
Multi Core 5446
Geekbench on Oreo, website
Single Core 1902
Multi Core 6673
Antutu on Pie, my device
139803 (for example Mate 20 Lite scores 138890)
Antutu on Oreo, website
209042
A friend of mine also got the update today and reaches slightly higher scores in Geekbench.
I did some benchmarks in the past and remember I didn`t really reach the high numbers on the websites but it wasn`t that far away, so no big deal.
But now it looks weird. I guess some compatibilty issues might need a fix or the apps are just not updated.
Would be nice if you could also check if you encounter the same "problems"
Thank you
I'm not on Pie, but I heard they have performance mode disabled by default now.
Also, they used to artificially boost benchmark scores by running the processor higher than normal when it detects a benchmarking app. Did they fix it in Pie?
They cheated.
You have to activate the performance mode on pie
Thx for the info guys, much appreciated. I activated performance mode and results are even slightly better than on the websites.

Do you can tell us how to activate performance mode ? Is the performance in games much better as in emui 8?
Please install for test Shadowgun legends and put settings on ultra and 60 FPS and tell me if it's smooth if yes it's awesome because in emui 8 it was always lagging
Performance mode is located in battery options and there are two modes more - power saving and ultra power saving mode. AppAsisistant is also new and this is one more option to get a better performance by activating game acceleration mode.

Game Performance and Rom Differences

So I have recently got my k20 pro and joined the family. Now I have a question, how is the game performance on graphic heavy games for you? I am using the miui global and I can say I am not impressed. You might think that there shouldn't be a game that works slow on this phone but try Marvel Future Fight (yeah not everyone plays pubg) and my fps was so unstable it was even going below 30 time to time. I will now root my phone and try to change the cpu governor (as schedutil is not a good governor for performance) but I wonder if others have tested out different games and different roms with similar experience. I saw some people doing gpu overclock but I actually dont want to do that for now. And I saw a custom kernel so I wonder its performance as well.
For me the performance is quite good
Graphics heavy games? No problem at all
List of games that I've played :
- Traha
- Call Of Duty Mobile
- Perfect World
- Black Desert M
- Vainglory
All of that with maxed out graphics @60fps
ROM : xiaomi.eu
Antutu : 377k
Overclocked : -

hmm xiaomi eu might actually be better than original miui. Are you rooted btw? do you use kernel auditor?
Also thanks for reminding black desert I didn't realize it was released
Nope, im not rooted n didn't use kernel auditor
i noticed, the best so far is xiaomi. eu is the best so far

you have to disable google voice match to avoid this, and sometimes it breaks so you have to reboot but it hapens once every 3 months or so
Playing honkai impact 3 on max, 60 fps. Works without lag but the phone heats up. Global stable latest version
I'll try playing a game on Pixel Experience official if you're curious about the performance. You just have to tell me what game you want me to test.

Mi globe works ok with Assistant so I see no reason to use eu.

İts great to see a fellow mff player here. I also tried at galactus and I saw fps frops there time to time. (not insane drops but sometimes 30 or so) I was checking fps from game turbo and it supports 60fps

Have new updates improved Mi A3 gaming performance?

According to some Youtube videos, Mi A3 was performing poorly with gaming, as its firmware was supposedly unoptimised and full of bugs. One Youtube reviewer claimed that (I didn't bookmark the video so can't post the link) Mi A3 4/64 version was struggling to run PUBG even with Balanced setting (second from lowest), while Redmi Note 8, which has same chipset ran PUBG with Medium setting (3rd from lowest) quite well.
Now that I am planning to buy this phone, I wonder, if bugfix and optimisation updates have resolved the issues that this phone supposedly have.
In a nutshell my question is, how well can you play games on this phone right now?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a3/themes/pubg-graphics-hd-hdr-enable-mi-a3-t3967602
PUBG runs quite well on HD settings with extreme FPS. However, I had to use GFX tools to unlock the settings. I'm on stock rom with no root.
