Isn´t it funny that someone who calls hisself a "pro" thinks that the iPhone has a framework-res?
iOS is programmed in Cocoa, and Android in Java, it´s completely different than Android,so it has no framework-res.

Yes, MIUI is a good example of iPhone style and i think the new Samsung galaxy s Wifi editions have an iPhone-like ui. E.g. rounded squares for apps. But i don't think anyone here is willing to do it even if they know how to.
I've flashed around a bit with different roms and as much as I enjoy touchwiz, I love the stock mms app that comes in AOKP/ vanilla android ICS and was just wondering if anyone had made any type of universal port for touchwiz roms that work just as smoothly? Saw a couple on the play store but they were total rubbish and full of bugs. gonna stay on AOKP in the meantime. Just curious if anyone else shared the thought

I did see that but I read the actual ability to receive and download MMS is broken in it. And I'm not knocking the Samsung mms, I just personally prefer the overall UI and feel of the stock 4.0 one. Sammys is great though.

Serendipity Rom has Samsung stock feel with aosp as well. I know he uses the mms /sms app in his Rom yer looking for.

That's the problem. Even if you get a compatible full asop mms, you have to keep the default samsung app. If you delete it, it will cause problems and FCs.

Thank you phalanx, I hadn't realized serendipity incorporated aosp apps into touchwiz. That does further spark my curiosity as to if It's possible to pull the AOSP mms app as a stand alone apk that I could keep and install no matter what ROM I switch to since serendipity makes it seem possible if I just disable the stock mms app.

you could theme the Samsung mms.apk to look like the AOSP mms.apk if nothing else, if all you're looking for is the aesthetics of the AOSP mms.apk

How do you do this? I'm the same way as jrod. Love what TouchWiz offers aside from the messaging app. Favour the look of stock ICS one instead. (Because I like the pictures inside the message thread)

Simple way would be to change your pngs in your drawable-hdpi folder and change some xmls as well, not really all that difficult once you get started
Edit: sorry, completely forgot that Samsung's has text bubbles, so it would get a little trickier, I'll look into it
Edit: So, I've been real busy with school and stuff, so I haven't been able to look at the apk. Also, I don't have a Samsung Mms.apk since I like the AOSP feel of ICS better and have been on AOKP since it came out. So in trying to find a Samsung Mms.apk in our dev threads, I found that Serendipity 9 has an AOSP Mms.apk in it and is TW-based. It also has a lot of other AOSP apks in it, and it looks nice and runs pretty well. (flashed it to see everything first-hand). That might be an answer

So I was thinking, we have MIUI which is more or less, a iOS clone.
Is there any ideas for a ROM based off of source that takes elements from WP7, I don't necessarily mean the live tiles, but something close, but the messaging, gallery, etc.
Bump?

You could probably get a copy of the wp7 firmware, and port it. Not sure what the file system is on that, but maybe it's similar?

OK...I'm not a dev but I'm telling you that we never could port a wp7 run on android system. they're completely different. asking how to run wp7 on android system is similar with asking how to ride a boat on road. the best solution atm is only make a rom with a theme and UI looks like a wp7.
PS: MIUI is not an iOS clone. the interface is might similar but it definetely an android system.

That's true. You can't port WP7 to android. If nothing else than because of kernel. We have a Linux-based kernel and WP uses a different (probably closed-sourcel) one.So as we already told you your best chance is UI changes.I am a dev btw.

I've worded this badly.
I guess I mean a ROM with WP7 influence like MIUI is to iOS.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW
Hmm, just change your launcher to a WP7 styled launcher.
Do that with the dialer, email, music and message app too, it should then look like WP7
Sent from my ST18i using xda premium
well thats what i mean...
as far as i know there is no rom like that...
as i mentioned take the launcher7 that would bring u the u/i
download go sms and search for the windowsmobile7 theme (dunno exactly how its called)
I guess nobody wants to make a ROM styled like WP7.

So, it's an android rom made to look like ios... An attempt at an iOS clone
I'm thinking that the OP wants the same thing, an android rom made to look like wp7

I believe the OP is also speaking of the WP7 transitions, UI, etc., etc. to also include REAL WORKING HUBS.
Let me just explain before you guys start hating on me... I recently gave my mother my g note bc she like the screen size.. however Android Oscar seems a little difficult for her and I know ios is easy. So..Is there anyway I can get an iPhone theme for the note? For any easy theme for her?

An iphone theme won't make it operate like an iphone. It will only make the homepage and some graphics look like an iphone. If she wants an iphone then get her an iphone.
Or does anyone know a Rom that is simple like the iPhone?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
What does she use the phone for?
With most launchers (I use Apex) you can hide many things. You can lock the desktop so she only has the homescreen with just the essential apps/icons on it.
Just like what rangercaptain said. You can get all different kind of launchers like apex, nova, golauncher etc and download the iphone theme and make the note looks like iphone. Put all the apps she will use on the desktop, take out all the widgets and lock it. There you go. Problem solved.
what about Miui, ROM? I know there is not a lot of support in the thread for MiUi, but it has the look, ??
there is an iphone like theme for miui, the thread links are in my signature, you can access the super GNote page via my sig picture.

That's JoyOS, don't know if that specific port is the one for your phone though. (I'm on Tapatalk, so I'm not getting the reverse directory links indicating device or carriers.)
Sounds like it might be the closest thing to what you're asking for on an Android device until someone manages an iOS port like OSX86...

Because for most people what matters is what the device looks like, and not really what is underneath. Most users don't even know what a framework is.
So the launcher suggestion is valid if all the user wants is something that resembles iOS.

The style of the settings, does that not matter? No launcher can replace the ugliness of the Samsung settings. That goes way down in the systemui or framework.
