Has anyone successfully rooted their Verizon LG G3? I cannot get towel root to work. Other methods I haven't found exact instructions either.

I0root, in the development section, works just fine.
Used the ioroot method just this morning.

IoRoot took me 15 minutes. I did the same thing to my LG G2 so I already was familiar with the process.

Yup took 5 minutes just got a G3 today and rooted it when I got home.
Ioroot literally had root within the hour of having the phone in my hand

Like the others have said IOroot is your best bet, wasnt gonna root for awhile but then i was rooted within 10 mins! Worth it if you wanna debloat / customize!

IOroot works. Others have reported success. I think this thread should be closed. Sorry not being mean.
Or people could just stop commenting and ignore it, then it wouldn't need to be closed... Lol

P769 won't get custom roms for a little while. We are still waiting on the jelly bean/bootloader unlock update, that came out in europe. I speculate that we will have all the custom roms that are available on p760 in about 1-2 months but there is no way to know for sure. But still a solid phone for the price (I got mine as a free upgrade when I renewed my contract) and the prepaid is $200 I believe.

People need very small procedures and quick solutions. The length of the guide could be the problem. They simply dont read it fully. I think the guide looks lengthy but the flashing and rooting is very simple and quick.
Sometimes they dont even explain what are problems.

Yes the guide is long but all u need to do is read fully thru a few times then follow instructions exactly as they are typed skipping nothing. I tried root one night and i was under the influence it took me so many tries i gave up but i sobered up read thru the guide again did it step by step and successfully rooted my phone. Ppl have to make sure they change their host files and reboot otherwise ur gonna get that lg server maintenance error which is what had me stuck until i changed my hosts file correctly

Try to apply some actual, appropriate punctuation and spelling next time.
It really isn't hard at all, and instead of asking for help, you made yourself look like an idiot.

That is still not a question...
You are just announcing that you failed at a task.
Anyway the biggest failure here (beside the tantrum) was that you did not share any details about your phone, version,os, your rooting methods, your system where you tried it.

If you can't follow the directions to root, then you shouldn't have a rooted phone. Wouldn't be safe.

The g2x is different (and much older) than the lg g2
His sig says:
"Tmo Hd2 (SOLD)
Now htc g2 running virtuous unity traded
galaxy s4g team whiskey mod traded
LG G2X (sold)
Sensation 4g s-off ect rooted (android revolution ics 6.50) (TRADED FOR ONE S ??lol)
( HTC One S) given to father<<he loves it
c
Stolen by a looser(HTC ONE)
Current (lg g2 tmobile) had since december"
So, he currently has the LG G2 T-Mobile

We finally got to the question.
Follow sticky guide return to stock rom make sure you download KDZ of jelly bean.
Follow guide explicitly.
Once back in with jelly bean use ioroot to root it.
If you have sold the device then delete this post..
Hi Guys,
GeoHot has released an apk to root pretty much all devices.

The root method seems straight forward, has any one tried this on G2?

I'm pretty sure it's not. Our G3 devs are working on a bootloader unlock and they've even said that we already have a Loki Like exploit they could release if a true unlock can't be done. Plus Hashcode has stopped support of SafeStrap as of late due to him getting a new job.

Hi everyone,
Root is coming. Im getting my aboot back now and going to make a kdz. There is a huge chance that your phone could break so I'm really looking for somebody who is either under warranty or doesn't care about their v10 because they have a new phone. I can't do it because this is my daily phone and I don't have warranty. Any help would be great. Message below

You have warranty or your highly aware that this hasn't been tested and if it fails it could be a complete brick?
So, nobody tested it yet?
What do you want to test?
Just the root?
TWRP?
both

Are you still in need of testing? I just got this V10 from Verizon as replacement for my 1st V10 bootlooping. Soooo I've got 90 days full warranty plus tmp if needed.
Let me know I'm down to test. I understand that I'll most likely create a brick or that I need to adopt that mindset as its a possibility. That's okay with me.

I've no spare phones but not having root on the same phone I had root on is driving me a little insane. Factor in the possible bootloader unlock and it's potential and I don't care if I have to use a 15 dollar flip phone for awhile.
I'm just unaware of the testing situation. If its needed yet or not and if so if it's ready for testing???
