Themes integrating the Samsung S Health Pedometer? - Themer General Discussion

Does anybody know of any Themer designs that integrate the S Health pedometer count? I imagine I could do one myself, but I figured I should check and see if anybody has beaten me to it. Thanks!

We don't know if anyone has done this yet, however if you do manage to get to work, let us know!

also for the LG G3

I would love to see a widget that can display my steps for the day right on my home screen. this would have to pull the data from the stock lg health app. Above my pay grade though

I took a cursory glance into how S Health stores it's data.
There are 3 SQLite3 databases at '/data/data/com.sec.android.app.shealth/databases', but the ones that have what we want look to be encrypted. The one that's not encrypted looks to be empty.
Other than that, I have no idea how we'd interact with S Health.

[APP Request] traffic cameras

Hi All,
recently i was shown some web sites that you can "real time" check traffic cameras.
would it be possible to make an app that can take your location and possibly link to the cameras that are on your immediate journey.
i.e. check how much longer you may be stuck in the traffic.
i could then decide whether i should come of the next available junction or sit it out ( especially in this traffic stopping weather)
if you need me to explain more let me know.
thanks in advance

I think that's a really fantastic idea, but I think it would be slightly illegal, unless of course your passenger was to use it.
thanks for the encouragemtn john.
of course i understand the legal ramifications. my idea was when you are jammed up and tearing your hair out because you have moved 5 metres in an hour.

Yeah, that sounds great! My biggest beef with my current satnav (CoPilot - don't know about any others) is that it won't tell me that there's a 5 mile tailback ahead and will let me pass an exit of the motorway and find out myself.
Nice idea mate - I hope someone with the relevant skills to do it agrees!
ha ha dude. i have co pilot too version 6.
tbh i dont really understand the live traffic thing more to the point i dont really know whether to trust it.
Look for an app called CamerAware. It works with the GPS radio.

I looked at this - it warns about "safety" cameras - I think what the original poster was after was an app to warn about delays rather than speed traps.

I have this feature via Weather Panel. If you check this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=401781 you'll see it in the screenshots or a youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9Jx_brSqfY
I have many of the cameras set up in the radars for routes I always use (in the UK here so all down the M6 & M1). This thread will show you how to set up the cameras http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2416705&postcount=95
Via the application M2D Today Page I have this running from M2D......
Hope this helps.
Ps. A stand alone application would be useful, but it couldn't use GEO Services etc for current location, as you are more likely to want to check where you are going, not where you are now! Linking it to a satnav application or a route planning website would be tough, as I don't know what location details are provided with the list of available cameras.... Although I'm sure there is some genius on here that could work it out!
Anyone tried Waze?
I just heard about Waze, which seems fairly new - especially outside the US - but seems to offer much of what the original post asked for.
Anyone tried it?

[Q] big brother app for android?

I don't know if it's exactly what you're looking for, but check out "SeekDroid" on the market. I'm currently looking at it on the Amazon Appstore. It's $0.99 and has a 4.5/5 star rating (94 reviews). It's basically a recovery app.
Like I said, it may not be on the level of thief-pic-snapping, but it definitely seems to be a reliable recovery type app.
Let me know if it looks good to you.

Looking for "Natural Display Calculator" on Android 2.3.7 CM

Hey app devs out there,
I just looked for a simple but powerfull calculator via the android market. Found nothing but the "old school" ones.
Yeah, there are tons of calculators out there, one has more abilities than the other. But thats not what I am looking for!
I am WORKING with my windows7 laptop, word2010 and microsoft's math4. Give it a try and you will see why I love this combination that damn much!
I am studying machanical engineering, so I need some features more than others, but the biggest thing is it must be as written on paper, that is what word2010+math4 gives me!
I write the fractions just as I would write them on paper, right after x^4/y^2 and space it is shown to me not in that freaky oldschool style, like excel still does.
So, why not have such an calculator on android? That would give many high mathematic working people a chance to get rid of windows, get an tablet (for me still an GalaxyAce) with android and a powerfull but easy to handle calculator.
As I have no clue about programming, it would take me months just to get the first lines, but this job realy needs enthusiasts to get it the way I mind it.
So, if any of you here knows where to place this request, please help me out. There must be sitting some super brains waiting for another challange, this would be a huge one!

I also came across the same need. It is pretty strange that on google play there is no such scientific calculator app available. I mean, the "natural display" feature would really be usefull, particulary on big screen devices. Anyone knows if such an app has been developer since DaBigFreak opened this thread?

We thought the same, so we developed an app that does exactly this! Let me know if you have any feedback. You can check it out here:

Hahahaha I definitely didn't expect to get a response from a 3 year old thread That's great to hear. You guys were actually part of the reason why we decided to develop this app - I ran into the same problem and was amazed at how there were zero natural display scientific calculators on the store, while the Apple Store had tons. We're continually updating the app at the moment and just added programmable constants! If you could leave a review that would mean a lot to me :fingers-crossed:

Thanks! We'll add that to the list of features to be implemented. At the moment we're working on adding history and favourites which is turning out to pretty painful. If you could leave a rating or review in the store, we'd be so grateful!

Before that, I'd love to see integrals, sum and matrizes. Then you can essentially do anything you want or that could be done.
Next big thing would be to make variables calculating available. Not storing a certain number as A, B, or C, but let the calculator solve an non-number equation to a specific variable.
Right behind that, setting up variables with a value, so you can define A:=5.0, B:=2*A and the equation only has A and B, the calculator gives the results.

All the things you've asked for are being worked on at the moment, but understandably it will be months before they're actually implemented. At the moment we really need traction to increase the visibility of our app, otherwise there's really no incentive for us to continue developing if it's going to be buried underneath thousands of crappy calculator apps on the Play Store That's why reviews and ratings are so important to us. We do take into account the many features that our users request, they'll all sitting in a document, slowly being ticked off one by one

Fit 2 Watch Face Ideas...

It's great to see some growing interest in creating new watchface designs. I see new entries via he Gear app every week.
There seems to be:
- A focus on surfacing every possible function that the Fit 2 provides on most watchfaces. This results in some really busy designs, driving the point size of the activity values to ever decreasing sizes. It's not just my aging eyes that have a hard time reading many of these values, but even when I am wearing glasses (I correct to 20/15) these values are nearly impossible to read when exercising. Sometimes displaying everything, because you can, is not the best design decision.
- A lack of functionality that allows the user to select what activity values are displayed. Maybe this is a limitation of Samsung's dev tool kit?? If so, then that explains it. If not, it sure would be great to disable values that I would never want to see, such as Water and Caffeine - even Calories is useless for me. I realize this is personal, but that's why I ask the question about customization.
As I said in another thread, maybe it's best for me to just get the dev tool kit and create something for myself.
I agree. I finally hit that age where I need to wear readers for smaller text. None of the watch faces allowed me to view them without the readers. So, I did download the watch face designer and created my own. I have two that I go back and forth on. Both have large font for the time/steps/battery so I can see them while i'm exercising or just walking.
I just released a minimal large font watchface free in the store right now, might be to your liking.

Some of them are definitely too busy so I decided what I wanted to see on my watch face and then created my own (still pending Samsung approval to be listed in the store). It leans toward the small but more functional side.

I'm pretty new to this, but the Gear Watch Designer (GWD) doesn't allow one to select activities on the watch itself as far as I could find. The Samsung-made watch faces have the Stylize button to select colors and such and I can't even figure out if that's possible in GWD. One can't even select 12hr/24hr on a watchface, let alone activities. It would be a good idea though.

It's not really that hard to do. Samsung has a pretty good tutorial on their site. If you don't plan on submitting to their store, it's even easier.
Having said that, once I get Samsung to approve my current submission, I plan to make others (all free of course) and I wouldn't mind making one for you. What sort of concept do you have in mind? Activities needed, etc. This kind of stuff is a fun hobby for me and a way to give back to the XDA community.
Coal:
Thanks for the offer. When I get some time, I am going to dive in myself. I might start with something like the Black Modern by minimin, but I'd make it more readable.

I plan to make more and do requests after we finish moving to our new home. Not sure if anyone is actually buy this device though. My next watchface I'm going to see about adding a pseudo flashlight button.

Hi Coal,
I've just started to make my own watch faces too for the GF2. Here is a comment from the Samsung Developers Forum on how to create a Stylize/change colors at least...
The first issue I've had is using an example as a template then activating the "Always on Display" view. When I uploaded my watchface to my GF2 it would cycle through the "layers" of my watch face then resort back to a pre-loaded Samsung watch face. So now, I just do not try and add that feature in... Good Luck! I may upload something after I practice a LOT more!

Anyone have the old T-Mobile

Does anyone here have the old T-Mobile account usage apk? Used to look like a tag in the notification bar and when you pulled down the bar it had a quick 3 slot summary of minutes used, texts, and data. I used to have it and a backup but inadvertently updated it to the new one and it's terrible. I'd be grateful if anyone has the old version

I have it, but it will constantly ask you to update to the latest version. If you would still like to have it, I can send it to you in an email.
Yeah that would be great if you could. Yeah it was constantly asking but figured it was a small price to pay for how much garbage the new one is. Everything just lined up exactly wrong and I ended up updating on the phone along with overwriting my old backup.

Yeah I guess that would help if I put that in the reply wouldn't it lol. But I digress, it's [email protected]. Thanks a bunch for your help with this.

You could use Titanium Backup to detach it from the Play Store to avoid constant update notifications.
Other than a very basic knowledge of the app as in backing stuff up, restoring and uninstalling apps you can't normally uninstall I am unaware of its capabilities, although I always read that it's an amazing must have app for a rooted device. Is detaching it from the play store a quick process easily explained for a reply or is it easily found doing a search for the prices? I guess I can answer that last possibility myself by having my ass do a search lol. I appreciate it though, that's a really beneficial tip.
