I got my viewsonic g tablet yesterday and quickly installed tnt lite 4.20 and then tried to upgrade it to 4.25 but this time the tablet had an issue. When I rebooted, it kept looping to the reboot screen :-/. I didnt back up my software on the tablet. I downloaded the recovery folder and the update folder on my micro sd card so that I can downgrade my device but when I press power and volume up the device will not give me a boot from the micro sd card option. Some one PLEASE HELP!!!!
I've been traveling a few days and the Forums have changed while I have been gone, but there is a sticky in the General Forum that I used to explain the
recovery options.
If you don't find it post again and maybe tonight I will have time to write it out again.

about halfway down, there are recovery instructions. You need to change a line to SDCARD2 in the loader file.
I wouldn't try and reinstall the update though - might be best to re-run the full installer.
Hi all.
Just got my lad a folio 100.
The wife and i both own Acer Iconias and Dell Streaks. We've had android devices since the G1 and played with them all.
However his Folio has just come up with the message 'sd card damaged' whenever it is switched on.
When i try and format the card it just does nothing.
I can get into the recovery (clockwork) but it won't let me mount the sdcard so I can't reinstall rom.
I bought this second hand and its been fine for a month. do I need to return it to Toshiba under warranty?
JJ
Is that external? CWM uses external except if you didn't install mblaster CWM version.

hi.
No the message appears even if I have no card installed so it must be the internal one?
The tablet works but we have to enter the details as if its the first switch on whenever we reboot it.
Sounds like the internal storage has lost its partitions or something?
Need to try and reflash it (it was flashed when we got it) however I can't even mount an sdcard in CWM.
Any ideas? anything I can do in ADB?
Did you install mblaster's CWM version?

Hi Jon.
I haven't installed anything it was already flashed. I have wrote the details below.
Kernel - 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1
Build - MrMEEE's FolioTNT-NG v1.0
Recovery - CWM v3.0.0.5
Basically he just switched it on last night and got the error message???
Recovery don't use internal storage for flashing, it use external-sdcard. Try to reformat it or some user had to change sdcard because folio couldn't recognize it.

Best call Toshiba in the morning.

i have the same problem "damaged storage" i searched in the forum for the solution i found that Dexter made a patch to fix it but the link of the patch is no longer available dext3r.komodin.org/folio100/update-formatstorage.zip
Okay. So my first issue is that I have been ebaying nook colors. Apparently I ended up getting a 16gb nook tablet instead of a color this last time. So the rooting process is apparently way more pain staking than the color was. Here's what i've tried so far.
First i tried this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2056626
I set up one main partition, set it as active, my computer found it, and I moved all the appropriate files over. Inserted the SD card into the NT, plugged in the power cord and BLAM..... it won't even turn on. Pop out the sdcard, and it powers up just fine. So that got me to thinking. maybe i did something wrong, even though i followed the directions to a t.
So I decided to try the other method:
http://iamafanof.wordpress.com/2012/11/11/how-to-guide-bootable-cm7cm9cm10-sdcard-for-nook-tablet/
well. CM10 is 60mb to big for the way that that guy wants the partition setup. So i figure.... okay. I'll just swap CM10 for Liquidsmart (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2274244) and it's still to big! So I Deleted Gapps and now LiquidSmart fits.
So i'm about to try that method. i'm hoping it works. But i'm concerned because it doesn't call for a boot menu (re: twrp) to be transferred to the sdcard. So here goes. I'll post back in a few.
eta: WHOOT! Progress! got the boot screen to come up. but now it says "booti: bad boot image magic (in memory)
thoughts?
Get readymade.image here and run CM10 from sd. If you decide you want to install internally you can use the card to boot into CWM and install internally from there. It runs extremely well from sd though!

okay. so here's where i'm at. to be able to actually get INTO the boot menu you have to modify the files per http://iamafanof.wordpress.com/2012/11/11/how-to-guide-bootable-cm7cm9cm10-sdcard-for-nook-tablet/
the problem with this is that none of the roms i've tried will install after modification. They will attempt to, but they all abort due to one reason or another. that is to say that they will not install.
"set_perm: some changes failed
E:Error in /sdcard/cm-10.1-20130605-UNOFFICIAL-acclaim.zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted."
Why not use the readymade image I suggested? Just download, burn, expand one partition if you want to and run. Easy peasy!

It looked like you were trying to follow a guide to make a sd card install so I gave advice for an Easter option. You can still use that readymade image if you want to as a bootable CWM card and then install your ROM and corresponding gAppps.

Go and get a 16 gig microsd card and try it again.
A 2gig card is only good for recovery.
Are you trying to make this a dual boot thing with CM10.1 and the B&N original? or are you getting rid of the original os, and going stricktly Android?

im trying to blast the original rom and put on cm10.1 or one of the others. In theory a 2gb card should be all that is needed for a flash, however NOTHING... and I mean NONE of the tutorials i've read and tried have worked.

it's been about a week since i tried this last so i forget exactly where i'm at. One of the tutorials i used got me into the boot menu but nothing would flash over. All the tuturoials saying to use winimage don't work at all. and thanks to that program I lost 10 years worth of programs because i chose to ignore what drive I was formating. Luckily i was able to use a partition checker to get most of them back. but that's another story.

I would have to drop out of Mac OSX and reboot into Windoze to see what I used. Something that works on microsd cards.
I did not have a read/write adapter for my PC yet and did it through my Nook buy using the Nook and microsd cards as external USB drives.

I can't help there.
I did not have that problem.
Might try a search for it?
Dude, I have a Nook Tablet 16GB too. It's really easy to flash, takes literally 10 minutes max.
Don't randomly do things next time, I took many hours to research before flashing my NT with Cyanogenmod.
Watch this video. This guy explains things really well.
youtube (dot) com/watch?v=c6D4s3okNQk
Not sure what your problem is. I took my Nook Tablet 16GB from a rooted stock 1.4.3 ROM to CM10.1.2 stable release in about 15 minutes. Fully set up, apps installed, multi-touch FW installed in less than 30 minutes. One of the easiest upgrades I've ever done on an Android device. And this 10.1.2 is amazingly stable, fast, excellent battery life, like having a brand new tablet.
I reload CWM recovery to get out of a boot loop. It has worked every time so far. For me, every time I've tried to load TWRP I get into a boot loop.
hello guys,
i am a new android user and it is second time for me to root/flash room, my nook tablet was rooted and when i tried to flash cm 10.2, tablet won't boot from sd card, so i press n + power bottom(as someone said it can help tablet go to cwm recovery 6.0) i believe i hold 10-15 second, and i accidentally replease one of the bottom, n or power, i am not sure.. so my nook become as brick. every time i turn it on, it says i need to reboot again, if doesn't work i need to contact to nook customer service.
now, i have used two method so far, ubantu and cwm recovery, they seem not working at all(the tablet won't let me in to cmw v6.x when it was not bricked),and i tried the last one and only one that was use repary.img to recover(which is newest method in 2012,i am not sure if there a way way other than this) repart.img won't unzipped on my computer, my computer is win7 64 bit,the zip said,"unexpected ending of this archive"
what that mean?it means i am only one cannot unzipped the file in that thread.
by the way, i can still go to cwm 5.0 for my root-format sd card, but not the recovery sd card or anything else, HELP!!! it has been whole day!

Hi,
you need a clean copy of the repart.image.
http://d-h.st/5vJ
instruction thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1663836
the repart.img sd card has been the most dependable way for me to reset any nook tablet , 8 or 16gb to stock.
I'd say get the latest copy of the img file, and burn it to a CLASS 4 Sandisk card
my experience is higher or lower class cards are often not as good for booting from NOOK tablets
if you erased the /system folder accidentally and di not reinstall an operating system, then the tablet will try to boot into recovery
if you erased the /factory partition accidentally, then even with a good recovery partition, the recovery will fail

sorry to hear that.
I have a similiar tablet, something has triggered the flash ram to not accept any writes
see: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2663470
I have seen the problem on other devices (gps's) , but only once on 100 NOOK tablets
Please please help me, I know it sounds pathetic but im nearly in tears due to how massive an impact this is having on my life!! :'(
Im willing to genuinely pay £10 via paypal to anyone who can help me fix my phone, I promise.
My phone is an LG Gt540.
I bought it 2months ago new on stock rom.
I managed to workout how to root it, and then upgraded its rom a few times over the next few days.
I eventually reached CM 4.2.1 rom, which is the highest available and worked well.
The phone has only 133mb internal space though, and so I needed something to increase the storage (using my SD card's space).
And so after many days of trying stuff I managed to find Mounts2sd.
I partitioned my SD card correctly (using mini partition wizard), and mounts2sd was working fine.
However 1 app didn't work, and so like an idiot I decided to re-flash the entire rom, wipe the sd-card, and try to restart from fresh.
However I endedup formatting; the SDcard, The SD ext, the System, and formatting everything in the menu in recovery.
The phoned bricked and wouldn't turn on.
But I managed to put my SD card in my laptop, have my laptop detect it as a 'device', and so was able to place the ROM file onto the SD card that way.
I then re-booted into recovery, and re-installed the rom.
I thought id fixed the phone, but clearly I hadn't.
And for the last 2weeks since, everytime I try to re-install mounts2sd, it just totally screws up and freezes up the phone.
I partition the SD card correctly each time, however when checking it in recovery it says SD-ext wasn't ever mounting (error mounting SD-ext) was the exact message.
I then tried to re-install a lower level rom (2.3.4 I think it is) onto the phone,
to then re-install CM 4.2.1 afterwards hoping that that would fix it all,
however the phone now wont detect the SD card at all!! :'(
The only way I could access the SD card normally is put it in the phone, plug in usb cable, it wont ever detect the SD card as a folder on my laptop like C: or D:, but if I use Mobile2go software from wondershare I was able to connect to the phone and access the SD card from there, and transfer files onto it that way.
However I now cannot do that, since when I try the phone will turn on but has error msg flashup every second saying something like keyboard has stopped working, and so it wont load the Mobile2go software, and so I cant connect to the SD card to put the 4.2.1 rom onto it.
I have tried placing the SD card into the laptop through the side-slot thing, and can access it via mini-partition wizard when I do that.
However the SD card is not being detected at all when I click on My Computer, and so I cannot place any files onto it! :'(
I seriously am so close to crying now, this has already had me in tears, as its so upsetting!
Please please can someone help me.
To summarise the things I need to be able to do (in order I guess) are-
1. Find a way of getting my phone to recognise and mount the SD card.
2. Find a way of getting my phone/laptop to detect the SD card and allow files (CM 4.2.1 rom) to be placed onto it so I can install that back onto my phone.
3. Find a way of being able to get the SD-ext to be recognised and detected as being mounted by the phone so that I can use Mounts2sd.
If anyone can help me do all those 3 things I will be so truly grateful and will happily pay £10 to you via paypal as a sign of my gratitude.
As this is just distressing and upsetting me so much.
Thankyou
Jessica

Hello and thankyou for your reply.
How exactly do I use 'kdz' to flash back to the 1.6 stock rom though please?
As I don't know any of these technical terms at all.
Anyone have their efs folder contents completely disappear?
This happened to me with my Sprint galaxy S 5 and I get a pop up saying the device is in " Factory Mode " and I need to switch it to user for it to work properly. The phone will boot with a stock recovery only but is useless due to the Factory Mode, it disables WiFi and causes numerous other issues .
Would greatly appreciate any input on this. It is all over the internet but nothing but no legitimate fixes after 30+ hours of research
Look at LG Swift GT 540 forum on xda, there are all tutorials, Now I cant post link for it bu google it "LG gt540 xda"
