Hello I'm still on 4.2.2 I've just fallen out of the loop recently from this phone mainly because I've been pretty happy with it the way I've had it. But when my battery dies, and I just need to plug my phone in to charge it won't. Every time when I plug in my charger Philz touch loads and I have to say "boot to system" but then it usually doesn't have enough battery power still until a couple of repeat cycles. Not sure how to fix this.
One more problem. When I plug in my generic charger.. It often says "phone can't charge in USB Host mode" it doesn't happen as often with my HTC charger but it still does..

Okay just checking if it was normal.
Totally unrelated question but I didn't want to make another topic. Do you happen to know if Folder Mount works on the KitKat update? I know I heard somewhere that KitKat would break a lot of the SD card access. Or does foot mg the device fix this problem? Is this true to our phone and KitKat? Because I'm honestly fine on 4.2 all my large game files run directly off my 64gb external SD (GTA 3, asphalt 8, modern combat etc) .
HTC Desire 601 (Zara_CL)
Thats true but u can fix kk sd card write issues. U have 2 options. Get s-off via rumrunner or edit the platform.xml file

Does KitKat offer much over jellybean? Sounds like a hassle.

hi, i have a evo 3D GSM. i had flashed latest clockwork mod recovery from rom manager, i think so it is 5.0.2.0 ( not sure ). i read somewhere that it has a prob with offline charging (not able to find where i read that). anyways, my phone died coz of low battery today, so i plugged it in to charge, but i dont think so its charging, coz its not turning on at all. i even pulled the battery and put it back in.
if i am correct is it coz of the recovery? and is there any solution for this??
i know i could not have bricked it, coz it was working fine when it switched off, and i was just browsing internet but really appreciate if there is any solution for that.
could someone please tell me what my options are????
Having the same problem. Needed to recharge my battery with a friend's phone yesterday... :/ Isn't there a solution for this problem yet?
hi, i got the solution, was waiting for a long time for someone to ans this question, no one replied :-(
Anyways, what i did was just connected my phone to computer ( even when the phone is off, it detects that an android device is connected), and run
adb reboot
command. and the phone just booted up first thing i did was changed the recovery
Can you tell me what recovery you've installed?
As I said earlier I was using CWM 5.0.2.0, which has that offline charging bug.
Now I am using revolutionary mod recovery.
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515a using XDA App
Hmmm... revolutionary actually uses CWM - doesn't it? It's only using an older version. Can you tell me the CWM verison revolutionary installed you?

Hello,
Well, I have a HTC Desire , rooted , S-off, Rom Leedroid 3.3.3.
Yesterday, my phone was in charge.
I've listened a little sound : "stich or stoch" and then, nothing.....
I can't turn on the phone, no reboot, no hard reboot.
I removed the battery and the SD card (8GB, class 10) and the sim card too....
I can charge the phone on my computer or with the plug.
But when I touch the "power button" to turn on the phone nothing happend.
for exemple: the phone is in charge, press "power button", the light of the charging mode dissapeard and, of course, nothing else happend ....
The phone is out of warranty for 1 month or less, so....... you're my last chance
My apologizes for my english , but I try to improve it
Bad new ....
Hi,
Well, I have some news .... The phone stared 2 times in hard boot ( volume down + power) but the screen froze and I wasn't able to chose recovery mode or anything else.
I use Clockworkmod and AlphaRev for the S-off.
So , I tried to start it without battery or sim or Sd card,
Maybe the partition Ext4 on the Sd card is the problem?
Leedroid V3.3.3 (Rom to SD), for the Rom.
Just keep in touch, if I find something new
hi,
So, the phone is back to the manufacturer's services.
Wait and see....
Back for Goooooood

Hello, so yesterday I tried to install stock ICS rom on my evo 3d and I forgot to update my firmware. So then I got a boot loop, and my phone has discharged. The problem is that my USB connection doesnt work ( I dont know why), but I have one rom in my sd card, so now I need to get to bootloader and then to recovery but I can't do that because my phone doesnt turn on . Any suggestions?

Strange to hear that you cannot charge the battery using the phone's charger or PC . But if that's the situation try to buy a universal battery dock , should cost you just a few bucks .
After that use Volume Down + Power to boot 3VO to bootloader .

hello,
I've a problem similar to that.
My rooted HTC evolution 3d hangs on the splash screen( HTC quietly brilliant).
I've tried to access bootloader, here is what I see:
"SHOOTER_U PVT SHIP S-ON RL
H-BOOT - 1.53.0007
eMMC-boot May 22 2012, 01.06.07"
When I try selecting recovery, it goes to a page in Chinese but a the top it has
"HTC EVO 3D GSM **** v.4.0.1.6 XDA"
the rest of the wording is actually Chinese so I can't risk selecting what I don't know.
Any help is welcome.
Thanks.
try changing your recovery. I would recommend you flash 4EXT recovery
make sure you have proper drivers installed on pc and the required adb.exe fastboot.exe etc files in the same folder as your recovery.img
hey all, as you know i was trying to port full sense for desire x dual sim community. ive already searched for custom ROM for desire x dual sim on that Chinese market community web site..no luck there wasn't any full jb sense ROM for dual sim dx.
so i ported it myself and to test it i borrowed dx dual sim from my friend.
so it goes like this. my friends dx dual sim was perfectly stock and n wasn't rooted. this morning i unlocked its boot-loader and it all went so well. within 5 min i unlocked the boot-loader and after that i flashed recovery which i founded in previous threads, it said that the recovery was specially made for desire x dual sim and was posted here on xda from that Chinese forums. anyways i flashed the recovery, it was miui using fast-boot and then i flashed superuser package and rooted the desire x dual sim. it was factory rested and it rebooted i saw superuser in the menu and i was quite happy. but then in order to flash the rom i ported, i had to change the recovery as the miui recovery wasn't taking backups. so i changed my recovery to twrp, made by nexus_prime in a few threads back. i flashed that recovery and everything was good till then. after that when i try taking backups from twrp recovery it says failed. i was sick of trying again and again but no luck, then twrp recovery suggested that i should install super su in order to gain root. i said ok install it and then my device rebooted. i saw super su app there and also not to forget i was already having super user installed cause i was rooted. the super su app wasn't working it said updating binary and then it said failed. i uninstalled it thinking its not gonna work for me. after i uninstalled it, i rebooted my deice to fast-boot in order to change my recovery back to miui.
i powered desire x dual sim off and then boom, **** my damn device is not turning on now, ive already tried looking for solution online and ive already tried changing battery and pulling them off and on but no luck damn it. when connected it shows orange led and then cpu vibrates like 5 times every 3 hours later. it doesn't boot neither it gets into boot-loader.
some body please tell me soon what wrong i did and what am i suppose to do now? and some one (@xpirit) said that desire x dual sim cannot be bricked if its s -on.
what should i do now. ill be in big trouble if my friends find out what happned to his device.
someone pls help me out ASAP.
thank you
Let it charge peacefully for an hour

not a battery issue
please i respect youre help but ive already said i aint a battery or charging problem, its annoying to see that kind of solutions - pull battery out, let it charge or unplug and plug it ..etc . all these are really not helping, i think my boot loader or something like that is erased and thats why its happening. i want a fix to the solution, any help is always appreciated, except the stupid battery or charging things.
thanks
lol, you dont even know half of what you are talking about.... you tried to port roms, before even learning rooting and flashing basics, and you tell him his solution is stupid?
Its true, you cant mess up the boot-loader so easily.... its just that you have tried to flash SU binary from TWRP, which is not good.... just boot to recovery, flash a superuser-arm-xyz.zip avaialable on androidsu.com or something, then you will get it booting. Otherwise, if you have mistakenly wiped system partition, then you are out of luck and you will have to take another desire x, root it, take backup, copy it to sdcard and then use it restore system on this phone.
Next time, read read and read more before this kind of experiments.
Regards
Yasir
PLEASE, TRY.. to read carefully sir.
i said desire x t328w is completely dead, DEAD. i cant get into recovery not even into boatloadER. nothing happens when i press power button or try to go to the boot loader. its like it has no life. only sign of life it shows is when it is connected to the charger, the orange led lits up and hence and that only thing which changes in this device.
please, if i could go to the recovery id solved this issue by my self rather than troubling you all. ive been searchinh for this kind of problem over the internet some says it cant be repaired by flashing or etc.. some says cpu is faulty etc. i dont know what wrong i did.
also i didnt flash super user via twrp
i flashed it via miui recovery
IN NO WAY I DIS RESPECT ANY DEVELOPER OR ANY USER. I'M ALREADY IN A MESS WANT A GOOD SOLUTION WHICH SHOULD WORK, RATHER THAN CHARGE YOUR DEVICE OR REPLACE THE BATTERY OR ETC.
THANKS

Did you even try the solution Infinity gave you, porting to another device is very risky and this could be the outcome.

OnTopic:
I happened to have the same issue once on my desire bravo.... and guess what solution fixed it???? (CHARGING IT) coz its battery was SO LOW, whenever i tried to power up, it flashed leds.
Calm down and think, also can you post what you have tried ? Did you let it finish charging ? Tried plugging into pc ? Etc etc, might have to lend your mate your phone ps wtf you testing stuff on your mates phone for ? Best to use your own, if yours is the same take a backup 1st, also dont bother trying recovery go for bootloader 1st once you can get into that rest will be easier, worst case senario you will have to pay someone to fix

Thanks for your sensible answer mate. But I'm afraid you don't know maybe that i cannot access boot loader nor does my phone says a single word. Also I've being charging it for more then 10 hours. Nothing happens when connected to PC. worthless. I'm screwed and i learned a lesson that never to mess around with someone else device even if other says it 'cannot be bricked'.
Thank you all who help and also who really put me this situation.
btw now his desire x is resting at HTC, i don't know what will they say as for now i told them nothing about rooting and all other stuff i tired..

It is common problem with this phone.
Simple cure - pull out the battery and let the phone stay without charger and battery during an hour or two.
Then it will be OK again, but until next power off.
I think the problem is in custom recovery. I have the same problem with friend's phone. But it's working well without power off, so I don't want to mess with it again
Disconnect Phone from charger.
Press the Power button.
Connect the Charger while the button is pressed. Phone should start.
I've done it several times now, main reason being, battery was not having any charge.
Never mind guys it was the motherboard which was really screwed. I don't know what really caused it but the only thing I'm aware of right now is that it'll cost a lot

Yeah they're extortionate prices for HTC's, in the past I've just scrapped phones instead of getting them repaired when they have motherboard or problem relating to charger port.

As you didn't root it, claim warranty...
thank you but in my country (Iran) there are not official warranty and guaranty services. but there are a lot of Repairman and i must pay a lot of money to them to repair this.
if it is hard brick , i guess one the chip in phone is damaged . the phone is connected to pc via usb when the battery was low and it had a power fluctuation .
i saw a lot of people in xda and another forum looks like me . they had this problem with Htc desire x , one s , one , desire ...
They could not do anything . they sent theirs to Htc guaranty service.
i appreciate for your regard :good:
Same thing happened to me. Mine is HTC Desire X dual sim.
Last night I was trying to Root my phone.
Successfully unlocked the bootloader and installed the custom recovery. then problem occurred due to Superuser itself cannot update binary SU as it could not access root.
Then flashed a Superuser from custom recovery. During these process I did not turned my phone off instead restarted it.
But then from that custom recovery option I powerd it off. That was the biggest mistake. After that I am unable to turn it on.
It only shows Red (Orange) LED while plug in it with USB or charger. Removing and Reinserting the Battery after 5-10 mins and trying to turn it on gives nothing other than only 5/7 Vibrations after a while.
So researched about it and found out this one problem occurred to many out there, and no solution what so ever.
I bricked my phone, lost my warranty all at the same time last night. Lost hope, as its totally dead and have to pay for it to repair.
Then I unplug the charger and removed the battery and gone to bed.
This morning I put the battery back and pressed the power button for 5-10 secs to see if it turning on or not. But it did not.
But after a while it turned back on automatically with the power on sound. I was very surprised. The Superuser thing is also working now.
I am afraid, I should not power it off completely from now on. As like ever!!. But that is ridiculous. So what was the main reason behind this issue? Is that because of Custom Recovery/ Rooting/ any hardware like motherboard or something (It is not the power button as I can check now it is working) else??
I don't know what is the reason behind it. But If anybody tell me how to get back to stock recovery so that I can Switch off my phone without having a fear of never can turn it on, will be appreciated.
Thanks.
