Quick ? - AT&T HTC One (M8)

Has anyone tried to run the dev edition ruu on a att m8.
As long as the cid is the same shouldn't it work?
Thanks in advance.

Have to be s-off and change cid to BS_US001 or BS_US002 and it will run. mid's are same so no need to mess with that.

thats what i thought but wasnt sure. thanks again.

Questions belong in Q&A.
Also, some constructive criticism, please make a thread title that is actually descriptive of your question. Having a bunch of threads titled "Quick Question" or "Help" is useless (and all too common). Having a good thread title will help others if they have the same question/issue.

How do I Unroot Hboot 1.40 S- Off?

Does anyone know how to unroot my 3D that is Hboot 1.40 S-off because i need to take it back to Sprint and i can not find a thread on it only for 1.50 which from what i read seems to only work for the 1.50. please help thanks
Just do this. Download it, rename it to PG86IMG.zip and put it on the root of your sd card. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21593454&postcount=564
Then if you want to restore s-on run this in bootloader
Code:
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3

plug your phone in and boot into bootloader. should say fastboot there, highlight it and type the commands through your command prompt. you should have all drivers installed and adb

Have you read this sticky?
Moved to q&a, even though I've warned about deleting question thread in general section, also this has been posted with a walkthrough and a search or even just barely looking would have saved this thread from ever existing.

Yep, just about any S-OFF method will do this if you're on another carrier.
As a side note, @OP, This doesn't belong in this forum. Please post things like this in the General forum. I've messaged a mod to have it moved already.
Locked. There seems to already be a thread in general on this by...you guessed it YOU.

Which HBoot do I need?

I'm curious if I should flash a 2.04, 2.06 or ENG HBoot, I don't really know the difference.
Don't flash any of them. Considering you needed to ask this question I would suggest leaving it alone.
Thanks for the **** answer, that makes 3 straight topics asking for help where I get none. Forget asking for help from this place.

Can you post what you need or want to accomplish by flashing these hboot images? Asking whether you should flash them is too broad.I'd say flash 2.06 if you need to unlock. However if you are asking for stability, a lot of builds seem to still use 2.04.

Honestly it wasn't a **** answer. You don't need to flash a hboot. And if your asking about them and don't know what they do or what they are you definitely don't need to as it can mess your device up.

Hi,
Pretty sure hboot versions for the DNA are in the 1.3x.xxxx range and not the 2.0.x range. You should probably check your sources.

He's referring to the firmware update numbers and the hboot used there, not the hboot version number.

[q] need help!

Hi! First of all, sorry for my english. I have an ONE MAX International and I can't revert it to original state. I read all of the threads about that but none of them helped me. I rooted my phone, flashed an insecure kernel, s-off, tampered banner removed, locked the bootloader. Now I have bootloader unlocked again with htcdev. I know there are many threads about that but all are different. I don't know which steps I have to follow in order to go back to stock and not brick my phone. This is the actual state of the phone:
T6UL PVT SHIP S-OFF RH
CID HTC__203
HBOOT 2.49.0000
Radio 4T.24.3218.09
OpenDSP v33.120.274_T6.0829
OS 2.61.1540.1
TWRP v2.6.3.0
Please help me! Thanks!

You need an RUU to bring your phone to stock, not sure if your phone's RUU is available on the forum.
[Wrong post - @Jiggity Janx pointed to the solution ]
Please help us with the solution.
I for one am not aware of any public dump/ruu etc or if you see any other solution besides the useless one that clearly doesn't apply to our situation.

Just like the other person you should probably understand the thread and the question before you remove a valid answer that was provided and leave the nonsensical useless post that says no solution exists.
I saw your post before it was deleted. So if I follow the exact same steps with exactly those files from that thread I will be able to go back to stock? Now I am on NuSense6 ROM, so I will need a backup from another phone but I don't know which backup will work for me. And after I find the backup and download the files from that thread, which are the steps, what files should I flash first? This is the thread I am talking about: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2718415

[Q] Updating the M8 to 4.4.4?

I have an M8 from AT&T, unlocked bootloader, rooted, and S-Off. Phone is running 4.4.3... the 2.23 sense, I got the update right before they pulled it. I want to go to newer roms, but they all use the 3.28 update, and AT&T hasn't gotten the update yet, but i'm having some major withdraws. I was just asking how to I go about updating? I saw a few posts but I am beyond confused.

Here I go again with an alternative that may be easier.
Being S-OFF is a plus but no mention of Supercid.
Below is super simple and requires the use of your external sdcard

If someone can't handle fastboot commands, they should be flashing firmware at all.
It should be understood that flashing firmware is one of the riskier mods to do; and not to be taken lightly. Unlike flashing a ROM, root, etc., you can actually brick the phone flashing firmware, if you don't fully understand what you are doing.
@redpoint73
No need to quote me as I've agreed with you over and over about this very subject in multiple threads my friend. I can remember being new to all this and how intimidating anything to do with adb/fastboot or even the word commands would make me feel.we seem to end up following each other around quit a bit so let's not make it personal man as it do respect you.

The easiest way to upgrade the firmware is to get supercid and run the 3.28.1540.5 dev ed RUU. Worked like a charm for my AT&T m8
Supercid is not needed, BS_US001 or BS_US002 works fine

Supercid will work for all cids. It's easier, Bc then you don't have to worry about changing it all the time to do different things. As wonders_never_cease mentioned, it's not necessary, however.
@mattprice86
Thank you for the answer ,I don't recall it mentioned that Supercid would work.
I figure why change it to a specific Cid if I can change it once

I am free to respond or quote others if I choose to (as are you). I was just raising a point, that IMO firmware (as I already explicitly mentioned) is not something to be taken lightly, and not something that should be made "easier". But just my opinion (and no more or less valid an opinion than yours).
There is nothing "personal" in my post directed toward you. Not a single thing that could be construed as a personal attack, insult, disrespectful, etc. If you took it that way, its your own interpretation.
There aren't all that many folks in the AT&T specific forum section willing to contribute help on a consistent basis, as you likely already noticed. The fact that I have responded to you on multiple occasions is merely a matter if that circumstance (just coincidence, really). Believe it or not, I'm not stalking you or anything. I would have responded/quoted you the same way regardless of whether I recognized your nickname or not.
Your contribution is certainly appreciated. I was just throwing in my 2 cents.
