You have to download the latest i9300 recovery.
It should be compatible with all the SGS3 variants (as you can see, except for LTE one).
Surely you have got a CWM Recovery (and surely old), so flash the zip file.

[Q] What is the difference by CWM-BASED Recovery and ROM Manager CWM?

I am bit confused yesterday when I installed the ClockWorkMod Recovery Touch by Koush, after installing it via the recovery, it was working well but then when I boot again to recovery mode, it returned to the CMW-Based Recovery.
I think the CMW-Based was installed during my first CF-Rooting.
So now, what is the difference between ChainFire's CWM-Based and Koush's CWM Recovery?
TIA
Recovery is linked to the kernel, any recovery you flash independently of a kernel will not persist after reboot.
Non-touch one is old recovery and touch one is new with "touch" as the only difference

I know that mate, but it works once during installation then after booting to recovery again, I am still geting the CWM-Based Recovery instead of CWM-Touch Recovery, make sense?
Also, Chainfire published the CWM-based while Koush's owns the CWM-Recovery.
Have you an app CWM that is touch recovery .
But a CWM and rooted kernel that is an older CWM recovery .

Yes it is the older CWM, I want to replace it with the Touch version, but it will only work once. After installing and reboot again to recovery mode, I am still getting the old CWM.
Root + CWM .

Issues with CWM Recovery

I've downloaded the recovery image off the official site for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 (touch version) and made it into a tar.md5 for Odin flashable. After I flashed it, it was successful, but when I rebooted into my recovery, I still had my old recovery.
Any ideas?

[Q] which is better twrp or cwm?

when i use twrp do a full wipe then install firmware for mega 6.3 i9205 using odin, then go
in download mode i still have custom status. but if i do full wipe with cwm install firmware with odin download mode status samsung official?
which recovery does everyone else prefer?
Depends on what full wipe you did.
i initially flashed TWRP and was very happy as it rooted my build without any issues............... i then decided to test the recovery and had issues doing backups to sdcard, flashing zips so i switched to CWM and all is well
i used CWM to flash custom launchers and a few mods without any issues
some may not have same experience like me but i have a 9205 and for me CWM is better. it seems for some who have the i527 model TWRP works perfect for them as thats same device as TWRP dev i think.

[q] samsung round sm-g910s

Hi,
Does SM-G910S have cwm recovery? I tried cwm taken to pan baidu source but it wasn't insatlled via ODIN. And can I install cwm recovery of NOTE 3 N900S variant to SM-G910S since they so much alike on specs. Or any other way to install .tar file via twrp or any apps?
Thanks

Revolutionary S5 V3 Doesnt boot after installing

I got this kind of problem after i installed this rom. If i try to boot there comes only Samsung Galaxy S III i9305 on screen and then goes black. I have ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.4.7
this rom is for I9300 only (i think, but give us the link to the rom), in this case it can't boot on your I9305. Go to recovery and flash a proper rom for your device
