So.... now that wifi xooms finally got their google videos app, how long do you think us tab 10.1 peeps will have to wait?
I beieve pretty much all videos hosted by google have been ported to youtube.
Can't be rooted to view videos so I don't even care anymore.

Google video has full-length movies that you can rent. You won't find them on YouTube.
My buddy has a Xoom, and woke up the other day to find a video app icon on his main screen. He said it wasn't there before. So he tapped it, and it brought up all these movies that he can rent. The price was relatively high, however -- $3.99 for most movies. Why pay that when you can get movies elsewhere for 99 cents?
Just sayin' ...
You can actually rent and watch them through the browser on the tab even with root.
Google videos appeared on my gt10 after i flashed uekm7 touchwiz, but because im rooted, rental purchase through google checkout would keep failing. I imagine devs will work out a solution, but really at 4 dollars for a 24 hour rental, I wouldn't use it much anyway.
More looking forward to the honeycomb optimized Netflix app from Lenovo ideapad to be ported to gt10 soon!
I got it on Sunday. I have a GT 10.1 Wi-Fi that I'm using until I get a GT 10.1 3G that's back-ordered from the UK. Spec wise, other than the weight, the Jetstream seems perfect. HTC did a great job with the UI too.
But, like all HTC devices, video playback is screwed up and streaming video is something I use a lot on a tablet. Neither Plex nor PlayOn, the two biggest streaming apps, work on the Jetstream but work fine out of the box on the GT. It also doesn't natively play MKV files which I have about a terabyte of. There are work-arounds via the market for MKV support but for $700 HTC should have been more thorough in their video support and implementation. The dev group at Plex is looking at a logcat file to see what the screw up is but I don't have a lot of hope. There's actually no dedicated video player in the Jetstream. You have to open a video via the library to get it to play. Wierd. Other than the weight and lack of video support there's a lot to like about the Jetstream. But the video issue(s) are a deal breaker (at least for me). So, back it goes.

I haven't tried any of those apps yet on mine, so I can't speak if I can get them to work or not, however I did manually install the Netflix apk as it wasn't available for the device in the market directly and it installed and worked perfectly. So as far as streaming video at least there is one working option so far.

Sorry to hear about the Jetstream.
Just out of curiosity, there are many websites here in the USA that have the Galaxy 10.1 3G in stock, like onthegosolutions.com
Not sure why you are waiting for the units from England? Is there a difference?
Thanks.

All the 3G units currently available in the U.S. are 16GB (I want 32GB or 64GB) and sourced from either Latin America or South Africa. The units from the UK have XEU firmware which pretty much covers all of Europe. It's updated much more frequently and comes with things left out in the U.S. like Reader's Hub. UK units also come with a two-year warranty. The new release date is 9/30.
Well, the headline pretty much sums it up. I thought you may be interested. After not being able to buy on my nook for a while, purchasing Earth and Legend worked last night. pretty good game thus far, and smooth graphics.
I am not into mmo, but it has a single player mode too.
Enjoy,

Which works better with Prime and which looks better on the Prime? I will be across country in a few weeks and would love to watch my tv programs in the airports. I need the most reliable with best picture quality for the prime. Please help me
I've got a slingbox pro-hd. And I coughed up the 30 bucks for the tablet version of the slingplayer app.
No complaints other then that cost. Looks better then the phone version for sure. Doesn't always connect on the first try, but if you just hit connect again it finds it.
Never seen or used vulkano
I haven't used the Slingbox for Android tablets yet. Haven't bought it, but I have slingbox for ipad 2 and android phones and I vastly prefer the experience over the Vulkano. I use it all the time, when I had Vulkano, i never used the thing.
I have Dish tv with the slingbox addon. The Dish app in the market is free and streams all the channels i get. Works great on road trips or something and the kids get bored.
Vulkano looks beautiful on the Prime... and I love NOT shelling out $30 for each device.

Does it work for you? I have the same setup and I could never get it to work. I've talked with Dish Network support 3 times and when I'm on the phone, it works but after that I always get a message that my DVR is offline.
I got the slingbox solo and it works great. I paid for the app for the iphone but I found an apk for the android app thanks to google to try it before I bought it and still use it today. I tether to my Skyrocket.

i had issues with mine at first then i set the dish box as dmz on my router and enabled UPnP in the router settings and it all started working. took me about 3 hours to figure that out since support is a waste of time.

A $200 tablet literally runs circle around $500 "premium" tablet. so much for the premium experience.
