I was running CM 11 . And in recovery by mistake I clicked reroot system (philz touch recovery). I rebooted but it only showed the Samsung logo and then showed a blank screen. I went to download mode , and tried to use odin to flash again or even format but the computer didn't detect the mobile it simply showed "The device has malfunctioned " . I have the latest Samsung drivers and kies too. Also my sdcard isn't working(wasn't working earlier too ).
Are you on Windows 8(.1)?
Why didn't you push a ROM's zip and flashed it before rebooting?

Look around the G5 forums for a fix or get Windows 7.
Then flash a custom recovery via ODIN and with the recovery flash a custom ROM.

Hi .
I have installed cyanogenmod 7.1 on my Galaxy S (GT-I9000) but i didn't like it,
so i changed my mind and tried to switch to the ROM that i have backed up with CWM (I9000JVJP6)
and i used CWM recovery to recover that ROM but when finished the mobile is do not starting up ,just
the startup text "GALAXY S" and no thing else, i waited for an hour but nothing,i also tried installing
the same ROM (from samfirmware.com) using odin and seccessfully installed (PASS) but the mobile is still
can't boot the OS just that text at starting ,then i tried flashing the froyo rom "I9000JPJPM" but no luck and my mobile
is now dead .
Must i buy a new one? or any body can tell me what to do?
Can you boot into recovery and/or download mode?

When you flash a rom from recovery, do you make a full wipe of data/cache partitions/dalvik cache?
I was formatting my phone's internal storage in TWRP recovery and I accidently wiped my ROM instead of formatting data. Now there's no OS on my phone i.e it's soft bricked.Odin won't detect my phone on my winXP PC,I got the samsung drivers installed and I made sure no kies process is running.I tried mounting the storage in recovery but when I click on it on my PC,it tells me ''please insert a disk''.I wanna try flashing stock ROM using ubuntu but I just don't know how.I know it's by using hemidall but I'm not very experienced with linux.I just need the codes that I have to put in the terminal.
Can you boot in to TWRP recovery? If you can, you could just flash another rom from there. If not i just did a quick search of google for "i9300 flash stock firmware heimdall ubuntu" and came across this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1947975

You can always put a rom on your external sd card (if you have one) just plug it in to an adapter (again, if you have one) and pop it back in the S3. And i bet in future you'll make a back up
Good luck.
Didn't work and I don't have an external SD.Well I guess I'm f***ed :/ NOPE.As I was typing this,I thought about trying to boot my phone while it's connected to the PC and while it was stuck at ''galaxy s3'' logo,it installed additional drivers(I thought all of them were installed) and odin detected my phone.I just saved myself a visit to my other house where my main PC is which I used to do all the flashing stuff before moving here Thanks for your help

There's a program called HeimDall. You can use that to re-flash stock firmware or you can install VirtualBox and Windows on top of that, then you download the stock firmware to the virtual machine and Odin and you can set it to read/write to and from the USB ports
Hope I could help!

Re-flash recovery through fastboot then download stock ROM for your device or even flash your backup (if you have one of course).

I don't own that phone I'm Alcatel OT995 but i tried to help you by some logical way.Ask somebody who own phone like you (developer - recommded) .
I am on Samsung Grand Quattro. I have a rooted device. My phone has cwm installed. I tried to backup my existing rom and flash a new one. the new rom was flashed correctly. But now my phone directly boots to cwm. I tried to reflash cwm but my bootloader is not recognized by my PCs. I tried adb to go to bootloader but phone boots only to cwm. Please help me reflash cwm using odin. :crying:
You can either use cwm to flash stock recovery and exit the bootloop or enter on download mode and reflash cwm
Did what u said

And about download mode, have you tried it? Do you know how to enter on this mode, right?
(BTW, are you calling "download mode" bootloader?)
Bootloader is accesible

It can be a problem with your drivers. Have you already installed Kies? This program provides drivers for your device, so Odin will be able to recognize it.
And, well... if you can't enter on download mode, I think you will need to have technical support

just saw ur post buddy. thanks for taking the trouble and helping me out. I fixed my phone just now. I charged it a little. Kept trying to go to bootloader. Once it started i reinstalled the drivers. Voila, bootloader connected. I immediately used odin to flash fresh cwm and my rom that i had already installed started working. Thanks!:good::victory:
Hi
A few months ago I plunged in , rooted my Tab 10.1 (P7500 3G) with TWRP v2.2.0 and installed Cyanogenmod 10.? successfully.
A few weeks ago I started getting random reboots which increased in frequency until finally it started to reboot during the cyanogenmod logo at start up.
I can still access TWRP so I believe all is not lost. So now I want to wipe my tab and flash with a Lollipop ROM I get on this site.
My problem is I did not have the samsung USB driver installed on my PC, so before windows can install them, the tab reboots. or if I go into TWRP it disconnects before the driver is installed.
So now I do not know how to get the ROM zip file on my tablet?
other info:
Windows 7
Odin3 v1.8 (which I got when I rooted originally)
any help would be appreciated

You could download those drivers from Samsung. I've never tried connecting my tab to my pc when in twrp so I can't help you with that. Option b would be to download the stock ICS rom from sammobile and flash it with Odin with your tab in download mode. It gives you a fresh start and a chance to start hating touchwiz all over again

Hi, downloaded the drivers already, but I can't seem to install them while in twrp, the tab seems to disconnect from PC and driver install fails.
I will see if I can connect with the tab through Odin while in twrp. Edit: Odin does not connect to the tab
The Lollipop ROM I have is a ZIP file so as far as I know you need to copy it to the Tab and then flash with twrp? You cant seem to flash it through Odin.
I still have a Nameless-4.4.2 ROM on the tab that I can flash, I will give this a try.

Odin never connects with twrp, you should put your tab in download mode in order to get Odin to see it.

Ok thanks, got that figured out, this is only my second ROM change.
I had a problem wiping the Delvic cache, it get stuck until eventually the battery dies, but never completes the wipe.
I am having some problem now getting a ROM that can be flash from Odin. The zip file I downloaded so far all seem corrupt or empty . I eventually flashed a ROM (P7500XWLP5_P7500OJVLP5_P7500XXLQ8_HOME.tar.md5) I had on my hard drive, not sure which one this is....
The flash went fine, but now I am stuck at the SAMSUNG logo that comes up after the stars and animation sequence. I will leave it over night on charge and see if it will boot up.

I'm betting it won't go past the samsung logo. If it does, great! If it doesn't you'll need to do a factory reset. That helped for me.
