Is there any way to disable the DSP since its badly broken for audio books? The volume shifts from silence to rather loud in a cycle of about 5 seconds. Makes listening to Audible content frustrating.

Hi.
This is my first try at a hack for android. Been readin java previously so i know the basics.
I think there are others that would enjoy this "hack" aswell.
So to the hack i want to make.
Remove notifications while in Car-Dock playing music.
Remove the 25% volume thingy for media volume.
These "features" are incredibly annoying.
If my N1 is in the car dock the media volume goes down to about 1/4.
My notifications go on top of the music. While my N1 is in the car dock im quite sure i would notice a incoming call / sms / email. So there is no actual need for a sound.
What i want to do is remove the lowered volume and all notification sounds when in car dock.
I already removed the car home screen becose its utterly useless.
But this didnt affect the volume as i thought.
If anyone wanna help out with this it would be greatly appriciated
You could use the app PhoneWeaver to fix both issues. It has a car dock trigger and you can turn off all the notification sounds. Also allows you to specify a level for the media volume.
I tried one of these previously.
It removed the sounds. BUT it still muted the music for the moment the notification was supposed to play.
So it didnt disable the notifications. Only muted them.
i would actually like to have mine lowered like you describe, it always seems to crank up the volume so much so that it distorts the sound when i dock it and it is then not adjustable through the settings or through audio manager pro.
I'll have to check out phoneweaver, i emailed audio manager pro and they said there was no plans to set up profiles automatically triggered by docking the phone...
the way i deal with this is i have two home screen shortcuts for audio manager pro that sets all audio and mutes notifications and another that sets it back to normal
holy crap...6.99 for the app, perhaps ill wait to try it out
Ill get to work on this project next week when i have some time.
Under settings>sound>volume,
there are 4 types.
i only know 3 of them.
"incoming call" is the ringtone volume when the phone receive a call
"Media" is volume of apps, games, music player etc
"notification" is the notification sound like sms, reminder, calender etc
but what is "system" sound?
i notice that the system sound is related to the camera sound,
if i turn system sound all the way down to minimum, the camera focus and shutter sound gets turn off. (i love it that way)
as much as i like to camera shutter sound to be off, i am worried that i might mute some other "important" system sounds, so may i know what are the apps that are related by the system sound?
also, there seem to be many tutorial on how to mute camera sound, why is that needed if this simple way of turning system volume off can do the trick? perhaps is because it cause more harm than good? (such as muting other "important" apps sound)
Hmm....no reply from anyone.
no one knows the answer? or this is too stupid question?
anyway, i left the system volume off for few days now, it seems normal,
viber notification sound still on, only difference so far is the screenshot sound is muted as well.
for fyi for any one who is interested
Hi, when i am listening to music on my head phones and a text comes through it defaults to this loud beeping noise. If i play around with the volume/sounds long enough it will change to the notification sound that i originaly set, and the volume is much lower. The second i unplug my head phones and plug them back in the default loud beeping notification is present.
Is there sonething that i am missing? When listening to music on my headphones I just want the notification noise to be the the sound i initially chose (when my headphones are unplugged) and not the default beeping noise.
I think this is so that it's easier to hear? I'm not sure. I like the beeping noise actually.
Interestingly, in Settings > Message, you'll find the Tone and Vibrate options disabled...
Hello,
On my V10 for some reason I cannot hear any notification sound through the headphones while listening to music like I have been able to with other LG and Samsung phones.
Samsung pauses the music so you can hear the notification sound. LG's, you can hear it right over the music and with vibration. With the V10 I can't hear anything but I can feel the vibration while the phone is in my pocket. But sometimes I can't feel the vibration depending on what i am doing. How can I get the notification sound to come through the headphones while music is playing?
All sound volumes are turned up high. I get the same results with the stock message app and message+.
Thanks.
Are there any volume or EQ apps or hacks that can work on a specific app (say Spotify) or media only and not affect the whole phone? I often want to listen at a lower volume than the lowest stock phone volume (I've got the tinnitus). Sucks that Spotify removed the inbedded volume control.
I've been using an EQ app (Music Volume EQ) with the settings lowered for listening to music but it affects the whole phone (earpiece, speaker, alerts etc.) and I've slept through an alarm when the EQ was on and I didn't realize it.
