Can i use togari gpe rom on togari STANDARD version, not gpe version ?
Both rom are usefull for both TOGARI ?
What? You're asking if you can use GPE ROMs on the Xperia version (i.e the "standard" model)? Or if you can flash the GPe port on the Xperia version? The answer for the first question is no. The answer for the second question is yes
There's is a 4.4.4 gpe rom ported for the xperia ultra, use that one.
How do you get the GPE rom on a regular (non GPE) ultra?
Hi, I was about to ask the very same thing!
I have a stock Sony Rom 4.4.4 on my ultra and I'm a complete android Newbie, just moved off iOS (and haven't looked back . Some basics here:
- Do I need to 'Root' my device to get the GPE rom on?
- How do I get it on at all?
- Where do you get a "bonafide" copy of the rom?
- Do you lose warranty if you do this?
- Do you receive OTA upgrades once you've installed the rom?
- Does Google support people doing this?
Sorry for being at such a basic knowledge level, I am a certified developer on other platforms however and intend to learn quick
Thanks in advance

Start by reading the stickies. Then the rom install instruction themselves.

Hi all,
I have Sony Xperia Z Tablet which I want to gain root access for.
Device details:
Model number: SGP311
16GB
Android 4.3
Build Number: 10.4.B.0.577
Not sure if relevant, but the tablet was bought in USA.
I'm pretty much a newbe here, so I would like, if possible, to get a link for a simple tutorial how to root my device.
10'x!
If only there was a search button...

Hi Felimenta97,
Thanks for your reply.
I have seen the post you've linked here before I've posted my question (I definitely know how to use the search option ) but its seemed somewhat complicated/Indirect way compare to the simple ways of rooting I'm used to from my 2 other devices (SGS3, Nexus 4)
Is there any simpler/straightforward way?
Thanks in advance!

Nope. There is no current exploit in 4.3 Sony firmware. So, you either unlock your bootloader, or do that process.
Wait till 4.4!
If I was you, I'd wait till KitKat upgrade comes out! after that I'd root my tablet

Isn't that almost always the case with updates?
Anyway, has anyone tried to root this tablet on 4.3 with Kingo App or VROOT?
10'x all for your help!

I tried with VROOT, but seems like there's no update yet. Was researching about 4.3 root methods, there a few, most of them you have to go back to 4.2 and then upgrade, but a direct root, no, I haven't found one yet :good:

I flashed the C6806 Stock ROM, specifically C6806_14.3.A.0.681_1276-1569_R3C.ftf to my Z Ultra GPE running 4.4.4 using FlashTool in Mac. The flash did complete on it, but there is no activity on the phone (does not take charge and is possibly bricked). Is there a way to recover it to last working state?
Any input will be highly appreciated.

Bricked as far as I know

Thanks a lot for your input. Device still in warranty, so thinking of asking Sony for a replacement. Hopefully it works out.

No you cant flash a stock Sony FTF to the GPe it will brick it, but ther is an older port to the GPe in the GPe dev section but I believe that it is unstable

Do you know of any good light weight small icon'd roms that can be ran on the ultra Gpe?

you can always run Carbon or Candy at sub 320 dpi, for that matter even the stock GPe software will probably run fine at 280 dpi
Hi there,
Here's an FTF of the Norwegian release of Lollipop 5.1.1 from Telenor. It's completely stock, without root or a recovery, so you'll have to root and install it yourself.
- ROM download: Click
- NUT's Dual Recovery: Click
- SuperSU: Click
I do take requests, and I can make other regional FTFs.
Good Job

Yes, as long as it's not the Japanese SOL24 model. If it's a C68xx model then it's fine. You can check that in the "About" section in "Settings".

Okay, so it's the same as mine, and the FTF is built by me, and it's the same build I'm running on my Ultra, so I'm not sure what happened on your end. Can you describe what you did before it stopped working?
I was able to flash it using flashtool, but when i turn my device on, it goes into a bootloop
So i just flash a regular kitkat ftf file to revive my ZU

Okay, so you didn't do anything strange or unusual, so I'm not sure what happened. I would guess that a lot of people would complain here if they had any issues with this ROM, but that's not the case, so I have no idea what's going on.
I can build a local 5.1.1 FTF for you if you want? Just mention your country, and I'll build it for you.
That would be great

Huh...! Weird. No, you shouldn't be on anything special. Just flash it with Flashtool. What's weird here is that I'm running it myself, and I haven't had any issues, so I have no idea what's going on. Did you get any errors or weird-ish messages from Flashtool while flashing?

No errors, flashtool worked flashing other rooms.
Maybe I have to be on a locked bootloader?

Nah, that won't make any difference. I have an unlocked bootloader.
EDIT: WAIT A MINUTE. Let me guess, you came from a custom ROM, correct? And not a stock Sony ROM? You see, when you flash the FTF, the new Flashtool doesn't give us the option to wipe before flashing anymore (not that I've seen at least), so we're basically flashing over the old ROM, so if you're on CM12.1, and you flash stock 5.1.1, it will cause issues since you're now running a weird combo of CM and Sony. You have to wipe CM first.
So I know how you'll get it running. Do a full wipe in recovery (by flashing or hotbooting a custom kernel), then power off and flash the FTF. It'll boot now since it's completely stock and clean.
As title really, can't really find a definitive answer.
It was a UK Tesco handset but unlocked to all, and still running the standard Moto stock firmware.
Any help would be appreciated.
