This phone seems to have some annoying volume safety reset every time i plug it into my car aux port. I always have to manually turn the phone volume up. Is there anyway to disable this and have it save my volume level?
I still have found no solution to this. Every damn day it pops up randomly to bug me about volume levels, even while I'm not listening to anything. And every single time I connect physically or bluetooth to headphones, the volume resets to 50%. Is this seriously intentional? This is incredibly stupid design logic.

I've tried this xposed module too and another one on a forum...both don't work since Huawei modified the audio volume. I get annoying notifications about unsafe volume levels and even gravity box doesn't fix it. I've asked a developer who knows more than I to look into and he said he would but without a specific timeline.

Thank you for the backup. Really annoying when people just assume you're being stupid and doing something wrong. Other modules work just fine.
I'm not assuming your doing something wrong. I've had the mate 2 since release and I have no more audio warning when I connect my LG Tone + or when I plug in my skull candy headphones. again I would check to make sure your module is checked and Xposed and gravity box is up to date. Merry Christmas
Perhaps, but that doesn't fix the 50% volume resetting issue. Every single time I connect Bluetooth or physical headphones it drops the volume. I will say I think the module blocks the volume notification popup, but I still seem to see the overlay message randomly. Like the other guy said, Huawei changed something specific here.
Shoot, I've gotten so use to turning the volume up, when I use pandora in my car on BT, that if I did fix it, I would probably turn up the volume for a long time before I got use to not doing it.

I get it consistently and constantly (once every 5-10 hours of video playback) even when I had those xposed modules said to stop this annoyance. I use bluetooth headphones nearly exclusively which might have something to do with it.

Still drives me nuts on a daily basis. I dunno if I mentioned this, but it even randomly pauses whatever I've been listening to for any amount of time, with the screen off and everything, to beep at me with a notification sound, about how the high volume is dangerous for my ears. Telling the phone to F-off has no effect.

Xposed installer and modules to turn off those notifications and tell phone never to sleep white charging and protected app and run in the background. However phone had to be connected to power to charge without best case scenario was extend sleep out to 30 minutes but even still tunes would vary but once the phone would sleep after the fission of sleep and no detected user activity the phone would take over. It works with those settings as long as the phone has user activity at least once with in each 30 minute sleep interval or whichever setting. I just leave it at 30 minutes and I don't seem to have any issues especially since the screen on battery usage is very efficient.

already found discusion about this issue in here about one year ago,but no solution...anyone else having the same problem: ringtone volume decreasing itself??
have no any app.related with system volume, and my evo is no rooted, original latest ROM ..
thank you
Just to be sure... Theres a function under sound settings that will decrease ring volume when you pick/move the phone. If you are aware of that, then someone else hopefully will help.
no,is not the issue...no matterif is on or off, volume still mixed up and changing itselfs
Does it happen even when you reset phone to factory default settings without installing anything? Maybe some app is messing with it. Please link me to thread that you've found about that issue.

ther is it my friend:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1377266&highlight=ringer+volume
Thats really weird. You should send it to warranty service and ask to investigate issue as it seems to be factory defect. If its OS fault somehow, you can always wait for ICS update and see if it works properly after Im curious about that.
I have a similar issue and I suspect it's the same as yours. I just chose to ignore it though... What I've noticed is sometimes when pressing the volume buttons on the side to increase the ringer volume, it might automatically jump to the maximum volume without anything in between. When it does this, it will briefly act as if it's at max volume. But then go back to being just increased by one level instead. If it makes the in between adjustments on it's way to max volume, then the volume won't "change" on me magically. It is a bug, but not sure why it's there. I've seen this happen on I think every ROM I've tried (which is a handful) and the stock one.
Now in terms of MEDIA volume being different across the board. I haven't really figured this works quite yet, but it seems like media volume is remembered between activities/apps. Volume for my music is always different than the volume of videos I'm watching on a website with the flash player and different than the volume for playing games. This I feel is a feature more than a bug and am happy to have it.
I hope this sheds some light to your problem. I know it's no solution, but might help you identify what's happening to see when the volume does change.
Thats what I thought...just will try to set max.volume in every posible app. and players

Im not using that app...just check system volume settings and ringer level volume is the same as notification volume ..same when you tick :use incoming call volume for notifications..but I didnt...looks like system ignoring separatelly settings for both volumes and using same level no matter if you choose this option..
Do any of the ICS ROMs available on XDA have Voice Command that will work with a BT headset?
Or has anyone found an app that enables you to voice dial from a BT headset? I've scoured the forums and haven't found a solution that works for my AT&T Galaxy S2.
I'm running Serendipity and it doesn't have it. I've also tried Vlingo and Cyberon without success. Shocking that Google wouldn't carry voice command over from GB!!
I just found a vlingo apk that is really the Samsung Voice Command from GB ported to ICS. It works well.
I've attached it for those interested.
I think that was something samsung messed up, not sure though

Follow up for Voice Command
I have been testing the Voice Command apk I attached in my previous post and it works well except for one fairly big problem. Voice Command doesn't work when my phone's screen is off. As soon as I turn on the screen by pressing the Power button (but with the lockscreen still on), VC works fine.
Any ideas?

Unfortunately I don't have any ideas...I'm in the same boat. I'm using the samsung VC app (pulled from sammy ICS - I posted it up for someone, somewhere a while ago) on Task/Ktoons AOKP. It works perfectly fine launching from the BT headset button if the screen is on, but it won't wake the screen - I haven't been able to get it to work on any custom ROM actually...
Hmmm...now that you brought this up, I wonder if it's possible to integrate this into a tasker profile to make the BT headset button wake the screen, then launch VC?
Thanks for getting me thinking...guess I have an idea after all...

Which BT headset are you using (I just bought the Blueant Q2)? I was hoping that it wasn't just my headset, so I wouldn't have to return it.

Well, digging around in tasker, it appears it does not have a Bluetooth button trigger. Or if it does, I'm looking in the wrong place for it. I haven't actually tried, but it appears to be possible to force the phone either to screen off awake state, or full screen on awake upon bt connection. This would at least automate the process upon initial Bluetooth connection followed by an immediate call. Doesn't fix the problem of a user wanting to initiate a call on a stable idle connection though... gonna keep digging a little more.
I'm using an LG headset I got for 6 bucks from newegg 2 years ago. More reliable and better battery life by far than the 2 previous 70 dollar motorolas...

Background
- I picked up a S4 Sunday with a upgrade on another line in my plan. I then transferred the S4 to my unlimited plan.
My reverse phone time line is S3 <-Thunderbolt <- Incredible
I rooted it and installed clean ROM, then learned that the bluetooth won't auto connect to my cars stereo. I have to manually go into settings and check "media audio" every time I turn the car off. I tried the "bluetooth auto connect app" which does it's job but it's still annoying since I have to turn the screen on every time I sync (plus the app can mess with wife speeds/connection).
I tried every combo of resetting, and factory resets for the phone and my car (subaru 14).
I tried different bluetooth system apks, but no luck. CM10 rom worked but I'm not a fan of cm10 (it's exactly the same on my S3).
This bluetooth thing is annoying as I'm in and out of the car all day and don't want to fiddle with it.
Plus I'm not sure now if the S4 is worth burning my 2year upgrade over my S3, should I wait 4 months for something better. The only thing that stands out is IR remote and camera.
Any other S3 owners have advice? Am I being too much of a baby about the bluetooth?
Thanks.

whats your issue?
Patients is often rewarded
I'm not coming from the S3, I upgraded to an S4 from a Galaxy Nexus. I would encourage you to give the S4 custom ROM developers time to hone the ROM's to address these kinds of issues. The combination of Samsung, Android and Verizon is almost always going to manage to screw up some parts of the OS, interface and/or functionality, but the hardware is great and it seems like things are moving quickly in the custom dev community to fix issues. It sounds like some ROM's have addressed this BT issue. I would think a TW ROM may address this issue soon. I'm still trying to be patient for a fully functional ROM with stock Android base.
If you wait 4 months for a new model, it may have same issue and then you would have to wait a couple more months for a custom ROM that does everything you want it to.
If there's a reason to return it, make it about the lag it has. NFC tags will solve your issue.
With NFC would I still have to take my phone out of my backpack/pocket/suitcase to "bump" the nfc chip?
The phone connects fine it just doesn't auto enable the "media audio" option.
Yup have the same problem with connecting my phone's bluetooth to my car stereo. I had to manually connect the audio everytime. There is a work around app on the play store called A2DP volume by JimRoal. The app forces to turn on the audio connect and works automatically. Also can automatically launch apps apps once bluetooth connected i.e. pandora.

If you are like me and hate always manually putting the BT levels to 100%, then this APP combo + rule is for you. What this does is make it so that you will always have your BT levels at 100% (or any % you want to set it at). Below are the steps to get it working:
1. Install Xposed
2. Install and enable G3 Tweakbox - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2792242
3. Reboot
4. Install Automatit - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=AutomateIt.mainPackage&hl=en
5. Disable safety Headset volume in G3 tweakbox (Sound tweaks - disable safety headset volume)
5. Create a rule in Automatit:
1. Trigger is bluetooth device (<Any device>) connected
2. Set volume of Music Stream to 100% (Or any % you wish)
3. Name it and hit save
6. Reboot
Now each time you connect to any BT device, you dont have to manually set it as Verizon devices always go back to 50% when connecting to a BT device.
I take no credit in any of these apps. I just found this combo and thought others can benefit from it as I hate always having to either raise the volume.
Does this increase the volume above 100%

Not sure how that is possible. Out of the box, each time you connect to BT and raise the volume, you get a warning that you must hit OK to. You can disable this with g3 toolbox. Then comes the issue that after you connect to a BT device and let's say reboot, you will need to raise volumes all over again. This was the same way on the M8 as well. And from what I heard a few other devices.

Is it just me or are the notifications all too quiet? the main default alert as well as individual app notifications all seem way too quiet, I can hardly hear them. I've even just factory reset it and it's still the same, anybody got any advice? please?
May be obvious but have you tried turning the notification volume up?
Trust me, I have checked, rechecked, triple checked and even factory reset the phone 3 times all with the same result. The sounds sound fine while selecting them in the respective app settings but as soon as the notification is triggered it's like the speakers are covered with cotton wool or something. But in answer to your question yes, all sliders are at their maximum.
Thanks for replying though
My provider (Hutchison 3G) have said over Twitter to return it and get a replacement, which I will do tomorrow if I can't find a solution. At least that way it'll rule out a hardware fault.
My notification is also to.quiet.
Music and videos and notification sounds on zedge for example are loud it as soon as I choose to use them for a notification sound it's very low. Certainly a software bug not hardware.
Thank you, I really thought I was going doolally... I'll mention it to the provider tomorrow when I get advice

Probably a bit naff quoting myself but hey-ho...
Returned the device, and the new one arrived today, still the same problem, for example select a notification tone for Whatsapp and it's quiet-ish but okay (i'm quite deaf so need a louder than normal notification) then when someone sends a message its super quiet and sort of muffled. I had every intention at some point to root and de-brand it but thought the stock rom was the probelm, so after many hours I finally flashed ARC5, flashed TWRP and rooted with SuperSU ( that lot was a mission on its own) but I've still got VERY quiet notifications...
Very Very annoying.
Anyone developing a volume mod?

Certainly a problem Samsung should became to fix quickly if there are aware of it.....
i checked again the same sound is low on viber and in telegram and very high in whatsapp

Video of issue where the same sound on whatsapp is high and on telegram is low, and the same issue with all sounds and many apps.
Do the notification sounds play through a bluetooth speaker if you have one connected? Maybe I could hear them on the other side of the house if I used a bluetooth speaker with the volume cranked up when I leave the phone charging .
Another silly idea: There are tasker plugins available to make app notifications into events that tasker can respond to. If someone already has tasker installed, you could try intercepting the notification then playing the sound you want as a music clip so it would play at "normal" volume. I've never taken the time to learn how the heck to use tasker, but now I'm tempted.
T-Mobile SM-G965U

I am having the same issue. I keep missing text messages due to the quietness, even if I'm sitting next to it, within 3 feet.
Any thing discovered as of yet?
Found this thread Googling for a fix for the same problem, G960F
Notification only plays through bottom speaker, and is much quieter than the original sound I downloaded from Zedge and muffled too, all stock notification sounds are equally low
I see the Samsung forums are full of people complaining about the same thing, hopefully Samsung does something about it, quite annoying and constantly missing messages and whatsapp notifications
I have no issues... Verizon.. snapdragon model...I think it's an Android Oreo issue though..my pixel XL did that. But the volume increased whenever the phone was in my pocket...same with the Galaxy S9+..but it's louder than my pixel

Noticed today that ringtones are quieter when someone calls, than they are from the ringtone selection screen

Yes I've noticed that too - I think it's the top speaker that's quieter.
Hmm strange issue not present on my Verizon models on the s9 and s9+ I wonder if the software has different settings on how the volume works i know my volume mod on the s7 and s7 edge were different for all models so I'm guessing it's a software issue
