Goodday,
A buddy of mine has a i9300,we have rooted the phone and installed twrp recovery on it.
The problem is twrp is not working because it is giving a error:unable to stat data data chrome bla bla.... We have tried different recoverys Philz,CWM and TWRP and they giving the same error. So we tried to remove the folder in that path with Rootexplorer and can't remove it,also all the files are missing in the chrome folder. We tried to copy paste the missing files from another phone but it will not paste the files. So the question is how we can fix the problem to get recovery to work.
Thanks in advance ?

Hi everyone
2 weeks ago, when i was working with my gt-i9100 (with miui rom"gingerbread base version") it suddenly stopped working and i had to restart it.
After that, when it turned on, everything started to "Force close" and nothing worked correctly.
so i made a backup with Clockworkmod, but when i started to backup, after getting some backup, and i think in making something called MD5, it said that its not possible to complete the backup.
After that i upgraded my device to ICS 4.0.3.
now i want to restore my SMS to ICS and i didn't succeed. because when i copy MMSSMS.DB file to my device and after restarting that, Messaging won't work and i even tried to install miui on my device(ICS Based) and copying that file and even the whole database directory, but every time this caused my device to not working properly and messaging started to crash.
Now i have my old "data.ext4.tar" file which contains all previous data (Like "Data" folder) and i don't know how to deal with it anymore....
Does anyone have a solution for this problem?
currently ICS(NOT MIUI, Official one) is running on my device, and i want to restore my MIUI SMS Backup to ICS.....Has anyone faced with this problem and found a solution?
I will appreciate any help from you guys....
Thanks in advance...
Iman
even your Backup from MIUI failed at the end while creeating MD5 checksum, it is already made and written on the clockworkmode backup folder, you cant use it to restore with CWM because there is no MD5 created, but you can still extract apps and datas from that Nandroid backup using Titanium Pro.
MD5 checksum writing error is a known issue of CWMpacked in the MIUI roms, the solution
no.1 : flash Siyah kernel from CWM, then you will get a Redpill advanced recovery, make backup from that.
no2 : install rom manager and falsh touch recovery from there (you have to pay)and reboot into recovery and make backup, worked fine for me. touch recovery is only a temp recovery which is opened from update zip each time when you reboot to CWM only from ROM manager. from 3 botton combo and reboot from anywhere else will give you current recovery only...
Thanks a lot, but I'm trying to find an easier way to restore my sms, I mean is there any way for example to convert my old mmssms.db file to a file which can be replaced by my current file and see my previous messages? I guess it must be so...
yes there should be some solution...lets wait someone will share...
opening that file with any text editor, somehow you may be able to read your old messeges I hope...
Yes, i can open it with notepad+, but I want them on my device...
Any other ideas?

You have a solution that works very well here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24533276&postcount=1
Here's how I did it :
1. Download "yaffs-mmssmsdb-calls-extractor.zip" on the post I give above.
2. Unzip the file somewhere on your disk
3. Download and install Python v3.2.3 for Windows you can find here : http://www.python.org/download/releases/
4. you must put your mmssms.db file in the folder you extracted from "yaffs-mmssmsdb-calls-extractor.zip"
5. Open Dos prompt (Start Menu / Run / type "cmd")
6. Navigate to your folder (example : "cd c:\yaffs" if you extracted the files in c:\yaffs folder)
7. type "extract -s mmssms.db".
If everything is ok, you will see the following message : Read xxx messages (xxx is the number of sms found in your database)
8. Then you must put a name for the file that will extract (example : "sms_backup")
9. then you will see the "sms_backup" file in your folder. You have to manually add the extension ".xml" to your file (sms_backup.xml)
10. You can then use an Android application such as "SMS Backup & Restore" to import your sms via your xml file.
For me everything worked. Try and tell us if it worked for you.
And sorry for my english !!!
Thank you so much.....
Great solution with great result

i found a but in RE
when i want to copy some files from /system/app to external_sd , the first time i use it , it can copy completely , but when i tried the 2nd time , it will failed with a prompt which said "file copy faild , maybe there was not enough space " . so i can't find all the files i want to copy in the destination folder , maybe one or two files . and i also can't delete them which are copied . just a reboot of system can solved it .
is there anybody who have the same problem ?
or any solutions?
As you all know if you have Jasmine Rom installed it comes preinstalled with xposed framework that can't be Uninstalled.
I have Note 3 SM-N900V but am unable to flash custom recovery due to my emmc not starting with 15. So Ihad to go about finding a different way of doing this. And this is the only way it has worked through many trial and errors and restarting phone from scratch. This is the only way that works that i have found. Anytime I have tried to I have bricked phone and it will not boot back up. tryed flashify , flashfire, flashing the uninstall zip and nothing would work For those of you having issues with this . Follow this workaround on how to get
Snapchat working again.
Go to es file explorer and navigate to
1. data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/ after opening xposedinstaller folder you will see a files folder take the whole files folder and move it to extsdcard or to pc.
2. Navigate to system/bin/app_process.xposed move app_process.xposed to same place you moved the file folder to.
3. Navigate to system/framework/ and move XposedBridge.jar to the same place as other files .
Restart phone and install snapchat and login.
Now you can move those files back to there original places. Then Restart phone again.

yes but phone is still rooted and it does not work on rooted phones
Yes it does work on rooted phones
Dear fellas,
I replaced my build.prop file to an another one and my phone is not booting up anymore.
I have a rooted Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus, with custom recovery.
Can anyone advise what to do without wiping the phone completely and flashing a new ROM?
What I've tried doing:
- I had the original build.prop that the phone had before it got stuck.
- I used the file explorer in custom recovery, copied that file to the system folder in root.
- Rebooted the device, still no luck!
- After rebooting, when I reopen the recovery, and navigate to the system folder again, I don't find the file I copied to the system folder!
Any thoughts on the matter please? Thanks in advance!
Have you tried writing original Rom to the phone. Don't have much experience with that kind best I can suggest

Try mount system read/write first then copy og build prop file in system partition and reboot or use aroma file manager.
Hi friends, I had recently used Lineage OS but I wanted to return back to xiaomi.eu weekly rom. I have restored my data backup partition afterwards I flashed my ROM using twrp. Now my password is not working, it shows me incorrect password. The problem is that I cannot use my FP(It's obvious as it happen on every boot/ reboot).
through twrp fileexplorer go to data/system/ delete two files with extention .key and three files with keyword 'locksettings'. reboot.

Need Help!Twrp password not working, cant access storage.any solutions???
Same issue, not solved!
Hello,
I have the same problem. It took me all day to finally install twrp recovery since I hadn't turn USB debugging on. I finally was able to do it and i deleted the 5 password files - but now my phone is in a bootloop. I wiped the usual data like Dalvik and cache, but it didn't change a thing.
Also, after I deleted this and took a lot on my File Storage, and navigate to /data/system, where i deleted the password files, there is NOTHING but one thing called "storage.xml".
What am I supposed to do now? I dont know what to do anymore, I have so many things already.

Flash a new Rom . Or you can ask for files in data/system from anyone to upload it on cloud from there you can download and copy those files into system folder it might work without losing a byte of data.

I found a solution now, it didn't boot because of the DM verity. I installed a package to solve that via installing in twrp and then it worked, but all my data was gone.
Just flash this file with the TWRP and you're done!
The file is not mine, it was extracted from the PitchBlack Recovery Project.

I'm sorry for uploading the file to mediafire but I could not upload it directly to XDA
