Can anyone recommend a ROM that's stripped down to the bare essentials?
I want to setup a Moto E that has phone and sms, but without a browser or the ability to install apps.
Any ideas/recommendations are welcome, thanks!
Flash any rom and delete the apps that are not essential for you, you won't be finding any rom stripped down to the bare bones.

Im trying to find a way to push the stock android dialer stock contacts, and stock calendar to my phone. Is the only way to do this to install a rom??
I dont mind waiting for cyanogen but honestly "for me" my phone without the bloatware seems as fast as I need it and I dont really need all of the extra options. But having the stock dialer, stock contacts, stock calendar would be really nice.
From what im finding so far is that the only way this will happen is with a whole rom flash.
Hey Guys!
Just installed CWM onto my phone. I have one question as the title says. If I install the home base ROM, how do i later install the Stock ROM back without losing anything? Like CWM or the unlocked bootloader etc?
Would like to try out differenct kernels on my phone now. But I need to know whether i can go back to stock without losing anything.. Data / Apps would be fine.
Another question, which is the best kernel? Home base rom without any bloatware is the one I am thinking of getting into. Please advise.
Don't bother with home base. Development is dead and home base is based on out dated code. Your best bet is joker's ROMs and kernels. Skinny will give you a Sprint bloat free ROM while retaining all the core functionality of the stock moto ROM. For example, the stock music player gives you shoutcast and podcast support, this is retained in skinny.
Joker stock gives you a tuned, stock experience. Skinny gives you a light weight screamer. Skinny complete gives you all the improvements of skinny plus webtop+. Joker also has a ton of kernels to play with.
Hey loki. First of all i really appreciate your work out here
Ok so i'll have a look into jokers roms... but again if i wanna get back to stock by removing all the custom kernels?
I just installed Resurrection Remix v2.5.2 and I noticed that I have a lot of stock apps that I don't use, so I'd like to delete them somehow [Google+, Gtalk, Reader, Samsung Apps, etc.] (that is one of the reasons why I turned to an AOKP based ROM from a stock LPG).
Now, on the LPG I uninstalled them with Titanium Backup. Is that the cleanest method to get rid of them or is it a better method available?
Thanks in advance,
Mihai
Hi,
I have currently a rooted Android 7.0 Samsung Galxy S6 Edge and I would like to get rid of bloatware, but I'm not an experienced user regarding Android and installed apks (i.e. what apk has what function). I know how to delete the system apks but there are so much apks I might or might not delete so a lightweight ROM would be nice.
Unfortunately all famous ROMs don't support S6...I'm not sure if it's deciding.
Can someone suggest a lightweight rom, preferably for Android 7. Don't have to be an official ROM...a stock rom with rid of blotware would be ok too
Thanks in advance
i use all custom rom but the perfect rom is

i was running LOS 16 and fancied a go on Globe-ROM (NOT to be mistaken with GLOBAL) which is based on MIUI EU. i wiped cache/dalvik/system/data, flashed latest globe rom and wiped cache/dalvik once more.
at first boot it asks for my password, but i never set one nor had any sort of protection - fingerprint/face etc.
i'm guessing it became encrypted somehow but, can anyone advise what to do!!??
many thanks
EDIT: i see after trying to flash a second time, part of the flash log says 'encrypted data detected, keep forceencrypt... does this help you guys help me!?
sorted it!! i needed to format data as well in twrp
You still on Globe ROM? I'm thinking of flashing the latest beta. I'd appreciate if you could share your opinion on it's stability and the ROM overall.

sure! basically, globe rom is based on miui EU, which is debloated. so it's plenty stable! with globe rom here under expert settings you can customize the rom further to your desire. choosing to remove other miui stuff like email etc and adding the bits you want eg. magisk, adaway etc. note, some apps are just copied to a folder which you have to install yourself after booting into the rom, such as miXplorer.
personally, i've been trying various other roms too but i'm about to return to globe until other roms are fully stable in all aspects
BTW, play store is included, just in case you were wondering
Thanks, man! Downloaded it. Will flash right away.
