htc one m8 4.4.2 - AT&T HTC One (M8)

I've yet to update my phone HTC one m8 at&t 4.4.2 ... you too?
When should I get the 4.4.3??

The 4.4.3 OTA update was cancelled due to battery drain issues. If you like, you can still update by RUU (backup personal data first, as RUU will wipe phone):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-htc-one-m8/general/htc-one-m8-ruu-m8ul-4-4-3-t2860423
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-htc-one-m8/general/att-2-23-502-3-bootable-ruu-pc-required-t2860486
Or wait for the 4.4.4 OTA, which should roll-out soon.

Nobody knows for certain. Its strongly rumored to be rolling out "mid-November" so it might be anytime now.

Android 2.1 update not OTA but RUU

Does it exist?
Is there an update to Android 2.1 as RUU? I have no wireless connection here and not enough MB available to download the OTA update.
If not, I have the OTA as a zip (OTA_Hero_HTC_WWE_3.32.405.1_R-2.73.405.93_releasephkp3wtd8ykg6hqk.zip). Is it possible to use it to update the phone?

Not yet, but be aware you will lose root if you do so.
I'm sure there's a way to make the OTA work manually, but you'd be much better installing a custom ROM IMHO.
They likely won't make an RUU yet (if ever), as they seem to think it stops us from making custom ROMs, but VillainROM just used the OTA update
Ty for your quick answer.
This is not my phone anymore, as I bought the Desire
But as I sold my Hero to a workmate, I wanted to install the latest updates on it. She doesn't care about having root or not, and with original ROM I don't void the warranty :
Btw she had another SIM with unlimited data plan, so I managed to do the update with the other sim.
OT:
I really don't understand why HTC is so much against custom ROMS. It gives their phones a plus that the other don't have (or had)
If you want RUU,you can look here:

Ty very much to you too.
Now I'm already downloading the OTA update with another SIM, or I would have tried it.
yep! it exists! go to shipped roms! it's there the new RUU dated 6/7/2010

If you are talking about ice cream sandwich its not out yet. There's a leak out but I wouldn't call it an ota until it comes to your phone ota.

Wait til it comes out and people determine if there's newer firmware first. If there is, it'll be the same process of locking, ruuing and unlocking then install the updated version of your current rom once the devs get their hands on it and start rebasing their builds. If the firmware is the same, it'll just be a matter of waiting to the dev of your rom of choice updates to the latest base then you can install their rom...
On a side note, the Razr update was supposed to go out today and so far, no sign of it from what I've seen, I wouldn't hold your breath for ICS on the 6th...

[Q] stuck on jb 4.1.2

ill start off by saying, im a total nub to this. that said, a few months ago, i stock rooted my phone to scotts rom jb 4.3, ive been having issues with losing data connections recently, be it over at&ts network or wifi, didnt matter. so i decided to unroot my phone, lock the boot loader, and s-on. i tried using this ruu:
RUU_M7_UL_K44_SENSE55_MR_Cingular_US_4.18.502.7_R1 0_Radio_4T.24.3218.09_10.26.1718.01L_release_35656 5_signed_2
to go back to stock, but apparently the radios didnt match and i resorted to using the stock ruu which was:
RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_Cingular_US_1.26.502.12_Radio_4A.1 4.3250.13_10.33.1150.01_release_318450_signed_2
only problem with this is im now back to JB 4.1.2 and cant do an OTA update with AT&T. i have called their tech support to see if they could push the update, but they dont seem to know what theyre doing and said i should try "the htc website and download it from there". so anyway, my question is, can the rom be updated straight from jb 4.1.2 to kk 4.4 using an RUU? or do i have to do the updates sequentially? there was a later release with a slightly different radio which was:
RUU M7 UL JB 50 Cingular US 1.26.502.15 Radio 4A.17.3250.20 10.40.1150.04 Release 326691 Signed 2
so i dont know if i can just run that and then do the OTA for kk 4.4? or run that and then do the RUU for kk 4.4? im at a total loss.

I'm sorry so you can or can't take OTA's? If you can, you could always do that back to 4.4, only problem being at&t's wait 24hrs.The kit kat ruu should run as long as it's signed (since you are S-ON). Have you tried running it after you flashed that stock ruu?

Need Help flashing 4.4.4 To AT&T HTC One M8.

I have an HTC One M8 AT&T Branded but it has 4.4.2 on it and i wanna flash viperrom 3.2.1 but it requires androids 4.4.4 software. im S-ON, 3.16 Bootloader with 1.58.502.1 Software number. Baseband Version is 1.16.21331931.LA11G_20.31A.4145.02L. im just looking to Update from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4 but i cant seem to find out how. Any help would be great.
Perfect.
Unlock your bootlooader if you haven't already, fastboot flash recovery (TWRP/PHILZ),root using the chosen custom recovery, make a backup before or after root.
Go here http://theroot.ninja/ for Sunshine
S-OFF cause that's what your going to need to update as far as 4.4.4
Orrrr just wait a few days for the ATT 4.4.4 build to be released (ETA 29th) and then youll have 4.4.4 without having to do anything.

That's a better idea for sure.
I haven't noticed if Sunshine has an update that works with 4.4.4 yet.
Are you S-OFF ?
What are the advantages/disadvantages of S-OFF so the OP knows what he might be missing.
Do you know when the Sunshine update will be?
Yup,no [email protected],[email protected],there are plenty of posts about advantages and disadvantages...my point of view is simple,it is not needed for the novice, ive seen too many mess things due to lack of knowledge. My usage of it is for switching between att and developer ROM's to get latest updates. Outside of that I dont mess with conversions,to risky for a 6-700 device. My advice is stick to htc dev unlocked bootloader and wait for official update.

I didn't Google for to long but I haven't found concrete links that state the exact date .how many times have we been promised a date and watch it pass by anyways.
May I ask if you've modified any other device before this one?
I'm not trying to push, but S-OFF might be in your future and will not halt an OTA from installing.
The version your on is easily exploitable using "Sunshine" unless you take the soon to be 4.4.4 update.
Nobody knows when Sunshine will have an update even with the team working on it as we speak.
Wont be much on Google @date,came from somewhere else. And nothing is ever "concrete" with software, especially with carrier branded software.

I have Rooted, and flashed multiple ROMS to my old M7 before. Nothing crazy.
I as well have the same build, unlocked bootloader, flashed custom recovery. Will I have to return to stock recovery using 1.58.502.1 RUU and to get the OTA update to 4.4.4??
I'm trying to get the latest Android Revolution ROM for 4.4.4 but realized I was in a bit of a pickle. I'd like to take the path of least resistance on this one - any advice would be super appreciated. Thanks!

I'd say wait till tomorrow to see if an OTA update will roll out.
Or if you just can't wait for the ability to flash what you desire than I would go S-OFF and flash a non At&t firmware that you need to allow a smooth function of mentioned ROM.
Im restoring back to default AT&T ROM and such and will post weather the update has been pushed or not. i sure hope it has
**Update** Still no update, i got the " Current Software is up to date, You may check again in 23 Hours 59 Mintues.

You can check as many times as you like by setting your time manually ahead and your phone/device won't know the difference.
Check as many times as you like but it will remain the same, you should get a notification when it's time
So if you don't have s-off you can't update to 4.44 Sense ROMS with AT&T? I'm on Slim Rom and sound quality stinks. I want the new Android Revolution but i've read wi-fi and such doesn't work. Clarification plz?

Correct .
S-OFF allows you to change your CID witch will allow you to ruu Dev Edition 4.4.4 so everything runs smoothly
I've not looked on this thread in a while. I am S-off and unlocked and my cid is 11111111 but I have never updated firmware so that I can run a 4.4.4 rom. Is it correct that I flash a RUU (guess it's not called flashing when it comes to a RUU). How do I know which RUU to post - I found this one here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2757462 (http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_...G_20.31A.4145.02L_release_368350_signed_2.exe)
Will I loose root or anything (other than wiping my data) when running the ruu.

I'll just say that if it's a stock ruu than it's most likely without root and it will wipe as if it came out of the box.if its a full ruu than it will come with the updated firmware as well witch should allow you to flash 4.4.4 Roms and still run smoothly.
What I did around 5:00am this morning was restore my Dev edition backup I had along with the stock recovery so I could take the Dev edition lollipop official update and now I have lollipop firmware to use with my stock GPE 5.0.1 lollipop ROM/backup .
Sweetness

Yes, running/flashing the 4.4.4 Dev Edition RUU will update you to that appropriate firmware. But, what you linked is not Dev Edition, its a stock AT&T RUU. And its not 4.4.4 either, its 4.4.2, which is probably where you already are.
What you want is the 3.28.1540 RUU linked here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/development/ruu-m8-developer-edition-sense-1-54-t2884777
RUU will wipe the phone, install stock ROM (meaning root will be lost) and stock recovery.
But I also think its overkill to run an RUU just to update firmware, if that is the intent. My suggestion is to just run the firmware linked in the following post (which also has great instructions for doing so): http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-htc-one-m8/development/att-4-4-3-2-22-1540-3-debloated-sense-6-t2837365
The above method shouldn't overwrite the current ROM and user data. But backup anything important before flashing firmware, just in case.
Side note, "flash" is a fairly generic term, and as the RUU flashes stock ROM among other things, the term "flash" is appropriate IMO.
So can I just load the firmware file and flash thru fastboot? Is it This one?

Unless you are trying to convert from GPE back to Sense, you don't need the firmware separately. All firmware is included in the RUU. Relock the bootloader (if s-on) and run the 4.4.4 RUU.
Once you RUU to 4.4.4, you won't need to update OTA 4.4.4. Unless you are talking about getting future OTA updates (its not clear from what you posted, "the update" is non-specific and to me implies the current OTA).

That's pretty critical information left out of your OP. When asking for help, always give all the facts, and as much detail as possible. One run-on sentence isn't going to do it; and will just result in us asking you questions in order to clarif, and wasting both our time. Try to make it easy for others to help you.
I don't know if anyone has stripped out the 3.48 firmware yet. But Wonders_Never_Cease has the 3.28 Dev Ed firmware posted in his ROM thread in the Development section. That might do the trick.
