I am looking for anything that can customize the new lollipop? From adding soft key buttons to changing the colors? I've tried different apps and don't work.

I can confirm this does work with the recent 4.1.2 deodexed rom. It does however kinda scrunch the touchwiz launcher at the dock. That is why I'm running holo for the time being. Anybody know how to modify the touchwiz ui for the navbar?

There are many AOSP ROMs which allow customized actions for the soft keys. Look for some for your device and flash one.

I was looking for a way to do it manually because my device has a lock boot loader and we cannot flash or build any ROM ..but we do have root...

You will have to redo the roms framework from the ground up.

I am wondering if there is a current ROM available that has PIE AND the ability to remap the buttons on it instead of the default (menu, recent, search, etc).
I believe it was Paranoid Android that had that feature but it looks like that thread isn't being updated. I also tried PACman ROM but didn't see any way to change the buttons.
Thanks in advance!

Just Google LMT. Download the apk. If your rooted, install it on any rom you want. You will have the options to change the button assignments. I'm running it on the Eclipse touch wiz rom. But like hexitnow said it's baked in to Hyperdrive.

without any rom or root, cant we change them ??
Probably not.
I've only seen these to be changed when using custom roms with that feature. They also allow 1, 3, or 5 icon layouts. And the option to disable it.
Is there a way to change the on screen buttons? In the past iv always used soft key Z but it's not working on the m8. Of anyone knows please spread the word

I use this to hide the navbar. It can also theme the icons. I'm not sure if you can theme only and keep the navbar as I haven't tried that.
