[Q] File System - Huawei Ascend Mate 2

There is a issue that I am having. I just rooted my phone and I am wondering why do I have 15 entries from "df"? I have 16 gigs and I can only use 6 gigs for programs and media. I can see using 12g and not 6g. Could someone enlighten me on this issue?

system storage is too low!!!!!!!!

the system storage of my archos 101 is 120 mb left is there any way to expand it? because i tried to install asphalt 5 it said not enough memory......i still have a lot of free space on my internal storage around 5 gb. pls. help me..thanks.......
i before reading this also tried to search around the web for a way to re partition the internal storage but with no luck, i found something about re partitioning the memory for apps to sd but i am not sure that is what we want.
Running the latest Froyo 2.2 update? Seems to me that you can move some stuff to your SD.
That being said, Asphalt (as I recall) is about 15 MB, it would seem there's plenty of room.
This is a serious issue with the Gen8 tablets. The usable system storage, for apps, is 250 meg. This is nearly identical to the amount available on the original Moto Droid. The problem is that even with Froyo and apps2SD dalvik-cache remains on the system storage and still severely limits the amount of applications that can be installed. Hopefully Archos will hear the communities plea and re-partition the storage with a future update to allow at least 2 gig. Otherwise the usefulness of this device will be shortened, especially with the larger application limits set by Google recently. Anyone have any ideas? Will an AOSP build dual booted from the SDE firmware allow this? Thoughts, ideas?

Rogue app or hardware issue?

hey I need some help figuring this issue out. Why is my storage for applications all jacked up despite having over 5 gigs of space left?
Are you using any mods to move apps to your sdcard? It might be causing issues with the way the phone calculates the used space.
nope, I know it's a minor inconvenience but it just sucks that it isn't working right.
is there anyway to look up the app directory data files and see if any of those are larger than normal?

Internal Memory problem

Hi all,
I have a problem with my internal storage: not all space (read almost nothing) is avaidable for me to use.
From the 1.97 gb can i only use like 650 mb.
The storage manager says the following:
Total space: 1.97 gb
Apps: 637 mb
Space free: 29 mb
So i miss 1.3gb of needed space.
I already tried to wipe my device, without succes.
And i also installed another rom, same result...
Anybody?
Thank you!

You can clear any accumulating log files by opening the dialog pad and tapping *#9900# Then delete dumpstate/logcat to remove them. This often frees up over 1GB of storage.

I can't believe this actually worked. Thank you.
Are these logs created by flashing custom roms etc or is it possible that my anti-technical grandma encounters the same problem?

Everyone gets them, like it or not. Even if your grandma were a rocket scientist.

Hope someone can help, my S2 ran low on memory yesterday and I found these great instruction which cleared 700mb of log files, it was fine all day and I checked the storage again last evening and it was sill OK showing about 750mb free.
Woke this morning to find the phone was low on memory again, with only 50mb free, I cleared the dumpstate/logcat again and its back to 750mb free now.
What could have created 700mb of log files overnight and how can I locate the problem?
Many thanks.
PS I'm not rooted any more as I hated not being able to use the banking or sky apps so I'm back on stock JB.

[Q] What App(s) let you locate all true memory on your phone?

So I have the 16gb Google Nexus 5. I rooted it a couple of weeks ago. Well i notice that my memory storage is rather low, about 1.15 gigs available space. I decided to download File Explorer by NextApp, Inc. so i could see what was taking up so much storage. I found that the sd card only has 1.15 gigs of memory stored on it. So my question is how can i see my true memory storage? i have about 11 gigs of missing memory that i cant seem to locate. Is there a specific app or anyway other way that could show all of my storage? I have no music or video folders downloaded. Basically I just cant find what is taking up so much space on it. I'm looking forward to your responses. Thanks!!
Storage Info
You can use softwares like LINK2SD, APP2SD to know about the exact storage information on your mobile.
Even though these apps are created for other purposes, it serves what you need.
I like "Root Explorer" by speedsoftware.

I think DiskView is what you're looking for. It shows the percentage used of all directories and files? See screenshot.

[Q] Downloading and/or Installing Apps Directly to External Storage/SD-Card

Hi, everyone.
You know, installing Apps if you're going to run out of space storage is a hard and big problem.
One of my classmates has got a low-end Galaxy Ace. And it's ONLY Got 180 MB Space Storage. That's horribly low - but the SD-Card has still 12 GB Free.
The app has a size of 4 MB.
So, how to install apps/apks directly to the SD-Card?
I hope to get an answer. Have a nice day.
Does Anyone?
...does anybody konw?
