How to recover photos from Xperia U without touch panel on screen - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi.
My friend has important photos on her xperia U and it has broken touch panel on its screen so she cannot turn on mass storage to access it from PC. My idea is to instal CWM recovery (without wipe) and go to Mount -> mount sd card. But I have never done this before on sony. I was always doing this on my samsungs via odin. Can someone help me how to do this step by step on her phone ? She is very hot ! I have to help her

Great idea, and how are you going to turn on usb debuggin?

If you can't connect your mobile to the PC it will be so hard look for backup!
But... I am thinking that...
Maybe you can flash a new ROM...
if you can go in DOWLOAD MODE...
but i suppose that your settings, as the password, will remain active... maybe a modded ROM.

Can't you just see the internal sdcard when you plug in the USB cable to your PC as a disk?

Humm.. Phone is detected in device manager as Samsung USB composite and Modem device but Kies (2.1.0.11112_41) reports connection locked error. M wondering if there is another tool/driver that can allow to either unlock device from computer or get access to file system on phone. Kindly advise..

i also managed to break my gs2 screen today. ive taken it to vodafone however they claim that for data protection they have to wipe all data on the phone if you have found a solution i beg you to get in touch.
simple method:
1.put the phone in download mode
2.download the tar file of a custom kernel(like siyah) which can mount your storage from cwm.
3.flash the file via odin and enter cwm.(press the key combo to enter cwm)
4.now ask some other users who use the same kernel to tell you the number of key press needed(and in which direction) to mount your sd card.
5. now your internal sd will show up in pc.
6. backup all the data now.
you can also backup all your apps +data using step 4
replace it yourself, it is dead easy...google youtube for an instruction video (did replace my daughters SGS2 broken screen in under half an hour)
hello My Samsung Galaxy SII has a broken display and i need to connect it up to retrieve key data but it won`t connect to kies...is there any way that i can?
Display is black. Phone is working ok
Can you help me? :crying:
You should be able to pull your stuff with ADB. Google and/or XDA search should yield you plenty of tutorials/how-to's on using ADB.
Edit - Provided you had debugging turned on prior to the display being broken.

Screen Capture.....

Hey Guys!
I was wondering if theres anyway i can take screen shoots Without ROOT or via USB since i don't have the Sony S USB cable....'
Thanks!
Yes, it is possible with ADB access and DDMS Tool.
Unfortunately I found only a Blog in German language ...
but maybe Google (Translater) can help ...
http://bloggenist.blogspot.com/2011/12/adb-zugriff-und-screenshots-erstellen.html
Click here and see how u can take screenshots.
Yes u have to connect it via USB to do so, but u dont need a "Sony S USB cable" to do it, any micro USB cable, from ur smartphone or digicam f.e., does the job.
Retarded that this is not an easy process.

[Q] Turn on USB debugging with broken screen

Hello
I have a big big big problem ... I have an ace S5830 C (identical to I), and I broke his touch :crying:
but the LCD is working normally, I do not intend to buy a new touch, because this phone is just for my entertainment hehe
(I have a S5 for daily use)
the problem is ...
I have read many articles about Access control with ADB shell, but the device is disabled adb, so I'm interested in a way to enable this ADB using my PC.
I would be really grateful if they can help me with this... Tks...

Bro, is the hardware keys working fine? Can you enter Recovery and Download Mode? Your only solution now will be to flash a rom with USB Debugging enabled by default. Try flashing the stock rom back using odin from Download Mode as USB Debugging is enabled in them. Do post the result. Hope I Helped

So just to confirm : Did you try the following: Recovery > Mounts > Mount USB Storage
yes,I tried it but no device is being showned at the pc
Almost same but more severe problem here.
I installed Performance ROM. But there was some problem with it. It was unable to mount storage to PC and many time it showed "USB Device not recognized. So I installed a Multi-mount USB storage and used it. It mounted my phone's storage that day but, the other day, the problem got bigger. When I connect my phone, it showed nothing. No warning or error message at all! THe phone was just charging, that's all! Still today I'm facing this problem. But today I tried to change the ROM by copying files via Wi-Fi. I installed Experimental kernel v12 and Stock based Proted JB .100 firmware ZIP. Installed it by wiping everything but still the problem's same. Please fix. My PC isn't showing anything! Neither any notification nor any error message on connection. I also tried to change the mode from USB MTP to MSC and PTP, still no result. :crying::crying:
Ok, have you tried other means of getting the data on the sd card? Perhaps you can use a sd card reader or another phone to connect it to the PC and copy the files onto that.
Insert the sd card back to ur phone and then in recovery flash the new files...
Don't you know XU??

That's ridiculous! I mean to say that Sony Xperia U don't have SD card. So no option except if you've an OS, you can copy files over Wi-fi but if you don't have OS and a non-working USB slot, you can do nothing except sending it to Xperia Service Center. That's whit I did and it'll take approx 15 days for them to "FIND" and "FIX" the problem even after my explanation on what I did.....

Hmm..... Thanks for this but the phone was just charging on connecting USB, tried changing USB cable, and everything else as I said earlier but none worked. So I sent it to Xperia Care. From the past 5 days they're inspecting that what happened with my phone but still can't fix it. Let's see what happens.....

Today I got my phone back from Xperia Care. They said that to change the USB we need to change the Motherboard and it'll cost INR 5000 (This is 40% of total cost of brand new phone). Is that right to spend so much money?

Nope! If you ask me , add another 2k to the price and you will find yourself looking at brand new phones with better screens , more RAM and better processing power.

How to access Android phone with broken screen, with recovery password protected?

Hi guys,
I have an old S2 (Model: I9100G) that i loved tinkering with, the one with monitor-mode capable wifi chipset.
Well, recently my S2's screen suddenly stopped working. I want to gain access to the internal data (also to be able to crack WIFI's by connecting it to a laptop through ADB ) .
Now, the problem is i have password protected TWRP using an online tutorial (can't post here, but it involved putting ui.zip onto the internal storage). As for ADB, even though Android debugging is enabled, it can only be used after unlocking the screen lock, for which i have a pattern lock.
I know both the TWRP password and the screen lock pattern, but there is no way for me to enter it.
Some things i though of/tried;
1) I've tried with the OTG cable + mouse, but i got frustrated after the first 15 mins of trying to unlock the phone blindly.
2) Reflash recovery using Odin? Won't that wipe the internal data..? And also i haven't been able to find a file to flash via ODIN, only to flash via recovery... Or can i just flash the standard zip file with recovery.img inside in Odin without wiping my data?
3) An HID pattern bruteforcer, except i'd program it to enter only my pattern
Any suggestions?
Thank you!!

I'll report back!
