Error code 24 after download - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

I had to use a nandroid backup yesterday after I messed up my phone. Im on 4.3, Sophisticated 2.0. Had some missing apps that I downloaded from the play store. Flixter and pandora both end with an error code 24.
I used root explorer and went to data/data/com.android/pandora and tried to delete that file. Wont delete. Do I have to change permissions to delete it or is there another way to fix this problem. Thanks.

After wiping with stock recovery, you should be able to reflash your custom recovery and restore your nandroid backup...just make sure to reinstall the same custom recovery that you used to create the nandroid backup.

Thanks for that. Reinstalled the stock recovery. Wiped the cache. Reinstalled phils recovery. Went ahead and flashed the sophisticated 2.0 zip from the ext card. Rebooted and tried to install flixter from play store. Still getting the -24 error code. Stumpped.

If you only wiped cache, but didn't do a factory reset, then you will need to flash stock recovery again and do a factory reset to wipe data. Then put Philz back on and try again. That should fix the problem.

Okay, I will do that. Thought I only had to wipe the cache. Thanks again.

Can't install or update apps!

Okay I can't seem to install any new apps or update any existing ones on my phone. I'm able to download them, but once it tries to install its always unsuccessful. Don't get mad if this is the wrong thread. I'm new to this but usually find answers to my problems with someone else's topic. Except for this one here. Any help?

Try clearing system cache, reboot into recovery and clear dalvik cache, then reboot.
How do you clear system cache? Searched under settings could not find anything.
I've has the same problem. Lasted about two days. The apps would download but would stick on installing forever and would eventually fail. My solution was logging into Google on the phones browser. It seems like my account timed out on my phone, and after logging out and then back in, my market began to work perfectly again. You can also try what was posted above. Are you rooted? Cause of you aren't, then you won't be able to do those things said above. Good luck, hope this helps.

Tried clearing cache and signing in and out of Google. Neither worked. I have opera set up as default browser, tried with both opera & phones regular browser. Still nothing. Yes I'm rooted, running kaosfroyo v34.
Sent from my FroyoEris using XDA App
Try a factory/data reset. Sounds like your only option.
Reflash after that to make sure it loaded correctly.
A simple flash over to KaosFroyo V 37 fixed the problem. Thanks for the suggestions.

Clear data for the market in settings. That usually works for me. If it doesn't, you can install the apps manually by using a file system manger (Linda File Manager, Root Explorer, etc.). The .apk should be in the download folder on the sd.

Ok so I've tried all suggestions and nothing has seemed to work. I figured, why not try a new rom? So I flashed over to Vanilla Tazz. Seemed ok at first. Was able to update apps and download some new ones. Emphasis on SOME. Cannot for the life of me get back AndroZip which is my favorite file manager. Even backed it up with Titanium before all this started happening but still could not restore it. And now with Vanilla all you get is the crappy Android keyboard. So I download the HTC ime keypoard apk. Can't install that either. Try to download eoeAppInstaller to do so, can't install that. This is really, really, really pissing me off. Is a factory reset my only hope?
Sent from my VANILLA TAZZ using XDA App
Did you do a full wipe before installing the new rom? Try doing a dalvik wipe and rebooting. It shouldn't affect the current rom you're in.
Also, it sounds like whatever problem you had in the old rom was carried to the new one. Did you use titanium to restore any apps or settings? If so, you may have "restored" the problem.
Sent from my ERIS using XDA App
Have you messed with any system apps? Like moving the market to the sd card?
Sent from my ERIS using XDA App
I backed up my kaos rom and wiped all data and cache before flashing vanilla tazz. Just wiped dalvik but still no luck.
I used titanium to restore apps but no settings. And no I haven't messed with system apps. Should I try moving to sd?
Sent from my VANILLA TAZZ using XDA App
I had a problen with my FB not syncing with contacts (across several roms). Turns out something I was restoring with Titanium (not the FB app) was causing it. It'll be a pain in the rear, but you probably need to do a full wipe, flash a clean rom, and set everything up manually. OR you could probably nand restore to a rom BEFORE you were having this problem, create a Titanium back up, wipe, flash the new rom, and restore Titanium.
Hopefully, this will straighten things out for ya!
Sent from my ERIS using XDA App
Full wipe as in factory reset right? Will that unroot the phone as well, basically forcing me to start from scratch?
Sent from my VANILLA TAZZ using XDA App
Tried nand restore but kept getting an error and could not complete.
Sent from my VANILLA TAZZ using XDA App
Full wipe for "rooters" means wipe data, dalvik, and ext (if sd card is partitioned).
Have you renamed your nandroid? If so, remove any spaces and try again.

TPC Note v2 - market my apps not showing apps

I have tpc v2 installed and for some reason all my apps in my apps are gone. Says i have none. Does not show my installed apps which sucks because i won't know which ones have updates available.
I tried clearing cache, wiping app data, reinstalling market, did countless data factory wipes. The interesting thing is after a factory wipe if i go to my apps in the market my purchases are there. But if i go there again my apps are gone. They are there on the android webpage under my library but not in the app. It was working fine on stock Rom.
Any help is appreciated

I did use titanium to install them I even used market to do the install. heck I even used mybackup PRO nothing. I did a wipe, rom reinstall, and data wipe again and nothing working. reinstalled all my apps using titanium (200+) and still nothing.
been trying for past couple days. going back and forth re-installing the ROM (both custom and stock), countless data wipes, dalvic wipes, cache wipes to no availability.
I made a new account and apps that install shows up on my apps but not my main account
If I do a data wipe then go to market then my apps. first time going in, my purchases are there. but if I exit and go back. they are gone again.
My library on andorid market shows all apps I have downloaded and installed. but its not syncing to my phone the data
I had this problem about 2 hours ago, all I did was go to recovery mode then wipe/clear cache. Rebooted and it's working again.

Lost root, out if ideas now.

Okay, after spending the whole day screwing with my phone me and my wife's phones are rooted, unlocked, and s-off running custom roms. Everything is cool except for one thing, somehow my wife's phone lost root and she is getting frustrated not being able to open certain apps and she's getting super pissed at me. Can someone please help. I tried running the perm root in the "noob proof tool thing" and reinstalled superuser in AmanRa and it did nothing. Out of ideas. How do you just root it?
from my ADR6425LVW using XDA
Have you tried checking the app that handles superuser permissions within the ROM itself?
Most Rezound ROMs have "Superuser" or "Super SU" in the app drawer.
Check how the program is handling permissions in settings and try updating the busybox binaries there for starters.
More than one superuser app running at the same time can be problematic too.
Reinstall the rom

In recovery clear cache and dalvik cache. And if you flash the same ROM you shouldn't have to wipe data.

Yep, and back up text messages of course, she'll probably not appreciate those disappearing.
Got an option built into message app for SMS, and MMS can be saved a few ways such as this here (if Titanium Backup is installed and working properly with root, since you said "some" apps):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1537931
okay, so can I just update su binaries and, in recovery, wipe cache and davlic cache then just restore her backup? Really trying to avoid having her set all her $hit up again.

Backup was suggested for if you re-flash the ROM and have her set back up lol, I mean that doesn't hurt.
Update SU binaries and wipe caches and check things out again.
To try and sit down and reason it out a bit: What apps are having issues, why just "some." Are all these issues actually connected and directly related to root access? Could just be permissions issue, or problem with restoring from Titanium Backups.
You can use Root Checker off Play Store to check that quickly. If that says you're ok, check the SU app on your ROM and settings, reinstall of that may help.
Again, all root is in a nutshell is access to the whole filesystem, accomplished on our phone by running the system as a particular user with administrative permissions. You interact with the Superuser apps, which in turn use busybox binaries to interface with the system.
Kinda odd it could just dissappear after being installed successfully, unless it got deleted or settings changed, or very unlikely file corruption. Worse case, if it is not another issue, you do not have root access, and cannot pin down the solution, a ROM reflash is suggested. Remember to reinstall SU then if the ROM doesn't have it of course, most all custom ones have root built in, Stock ROMs don't.
Flash a superuser.zip
That's what I had to do.

Can't Restore Nandroid backup. What shall I do?!

I created a backup because I wanted to try a mod ,I didn't like the mod because it messed up the system UI.
So I tried to restore the backup however I ended up with the Samsung logo flashing?
I advanced restored the boot image and the phone started but all my apps were force closing , then I tried the full restore however the /data section wouldn't restore because it was corrupted
what's my best option? I've currently decided to boot to the nandroid menu and go on wipe data/factory reset , the phone has restored and I'm restoring using Titanium Backup. This will bring back my user apps I think?. But is there any way to restore wifi passwords and bookmarks and calendar appointments?
Hope this makes sense and thanks in advance
I am pretty sure that by signing into your Google account it should restore your WiFi passwords and bookmarks automatically

Before flashing anything.. go to recovery wipe cache and dalvik cache, when done "fix permissions" ,this option is located in advanced menu in recovery. Now reboot.
Use "titanium backup" to backup BT WIFI and other settings.
Ps. Don't restore system apps, only the app data if absolutely necessary.

I agree with zodiaxe66's suggestion always try something like this before you just go flashing away.

I've used Mobile Odin to flash the stock LFB .I've done this before perfectly.
But this time once I load the file the:
Kernel,Recovery,System,Cache, Modem and Hidden are filled in
Param and Data are clear.
And I tick:
Enable everroot .Inject SU ,Inject Mobile Odin.
And I select
Wipe data and Cache
Wipe Dalvik Cache.
Then I select flash firmware.
the mobile Odin screen pops up and it shows the progress when it flashes the
kernel recovery system hidden
and wipes the dalvik cache
However the Message App still force closes!
could somebody please help me out ? I'm getting proper stressed now

Clean Slate for those that balls up the firmware .Or need to return to service or decide if its hardware/firmware problem .
Backup data first if phone is working .
Boot CWM recovery
Mounts and Storage
Format cache data system sd card .
Remove battery
Boot to download mode
Open Odin
Install correct stock firmware .
jje
Did u download the additional file beside the app itself. Either from mobile Odin thread or if bought it from market, then turn on wifi and open Odin again and u be asked to download additional file.
remember to grant superuser permission.
Update from the idiot, partial success achieved .
I ended up flashing the stock rom using odin on the desktop then I flashed CWM recovery rooted supersu etc
Then I started the phone, memory card is intact, however phone memory was wiped. Luckily my titanium folder is on the memory card. So luckily I was able to restore the apps and data. No force closes now
The stuff I lost on the internal memory was music (now restored) camera pics (most restored thanks to dropbox) ringtones and bookmarks.
However I have much more free internal memory than before, so I was wondering whether I could be missing an important folder or something than may cause issue with apps or is there anything important I might have lost?
Thanks once again for helping an idiot out

No your probably not missing anything
Important in fact when your phones internal storage was wiped it very likely got rid of the traces of any file that could cause problems.

[Solved] Apps unable to create new folders on internal sd

Hey all. I have Androwook 1.3 installed, and I am unable to use apps that need to create new folders, such as podcast apps or google earth, etc. I get a "no sd card error." I am also unable to download files to the download folder in chrome.
I have tried a full factory reset and system wipe and installing Androwook 1.5 and this did not fix the problem. I have tried fix permissions without fixing the problem.
Could this be a bigger problem with my file structure permissions?
What are your thoughts?
