[Q] When can we expect official CyanogenMod 12 builds? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Rumors were end of november / early december. Its 24th december and CM blog wasn't updated one and half month! Are devs preparing buildbot for CM12? Any idea when can we expect CM12 builds on download.cyanogenmod.org ? At least Nexus devices, there are source tree and all needed libs for them.

Hey, are the sources for this device's kernel/device tree released?

Hey guys,
I'm a developer for the Optimus Black p970 and the creator of Aeroi rom. I am getting this phone soon and plan on developing it, any news from sources from Motorola? Have they released them yet?
The LTE model is known as Styx LTE. It's sources are available on GitHub:
https://github.com/MotorolaMobilityLLC/kernel-msm/tree/lollipop-5.0.2-release-styxlte
The LTE model uses an MSM8916, so use the msm8916_defconfig.
The 3G model is similar to the Moto G and previous Moto E. It uses a MSM8212 SoC. Motorola hasn't released a kernel for the 3G variant, but the previous Moto E's kernel sources might work. They haven't released Lollipop sources specifically for the old E either, but this kernel *might* work when built for msm8610_defconfig:
https://github.com/MotorolaMobilityLLC/kernel-msm/tree/lollipop—5.0.2-release
I'm working on a kernel for the LTE model, but I don't have anything that I consider worth releasing yet.
Should we be seeing better dev support for the LTE model soon?
Any news / expected availability of official CM/PAC for the LTE model?
Official CM doesn't mean better support.
I'm the maintainer of the moto E 2014 with @percy_g2.
Once I have a fully working CM for moto E 2015 build I'll push for getting the device official. The only change will be that the builds will be done by CM servers and you'll have the updates form CM. Also pushing changes to the repo will have to go through the grit system.
This is the same for PAC. PAC device tree and kernel can be easily done based on cm one.
I really hope that CM and PAC become official. Thanks for helping out.

[Q] Monthly snapshot releases for official CyanogenMod 12.1?

Hi community, hi @Lysergic Acid,
do you think it would be possible to get an monthly snapshot release of the official CyanogenMod 12.1?
If I look back to CM 11 (download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=i9100&type=snapshot), monthly snapshots were normal.
Currently I'm on a nightly from november. I thought about a switch to the snapshot release, but this release was in mid november too.
Since Google push monthly security patches (to AOSP?), would it not be more necessary to push this patches with monthly snapshots to?
If not, could someone mention why?
Best regards
vaxu

CyanogenMod seems to be releasing snapshots more or less a week after google releases security updates, if that doesn't happen then some major issue is blocking the release
Thanks @Lysergic Acid for the quick response.
Have you any idea why the snapshot is blockt for the snapshot?
Would it not be nice, if the snapshot would be released more or less automatically (if possible)?

OnePlus One CM 13 SNAPSHOT Rom?

How many days which have a release for cm-13 SNAPSHOT ROM
You can check their blog for new information -> http://www.cyanogenmod.org/blog. They write around 1 post a month on their blog, so the february post may come in the next days. Communication could be better (what is a blog for?).
The fact that they did not release a snasphot gives you a hint on what to expect from current nighlies. You can have a look at the cm13-stable branch here -> http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/q/status:merged+branch:stable/cm-13.0-ZNH0E. There are still so many changes getting merged every day, I would not expect a snapshot before march.
Unfortunately they quietly dropped support for cm12.1, no snapshot with security updates since november. There is still a stable branch for cm12.1 with security updates (http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/q/status:merged+branch:stable/cm-12.1-YOG7D). Hard to understand why they don't update at least the snapshots for cm12.1.

Why is official CyanogenMod not yet build for OnePlus X?

Unofficial build is stable enough and no activity is seen on https://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/q/project:CyanogenMod/android_device_oneplus_onyx. Will there be an official build anytime soon?
Yes, there will be.
A button commit is waiting to be merged, then we'll have official nightlies.
Any idea on how much it will take?

[REQUEST] LineageOS 13.0 with latest security patch

Hi,
i tried almost every latest rom and i finally found the best rom for our ancient device. Which is LineageOS 13.0 with Meilor NUI theme. Netflix works and device smooth as butter. (I tweaked it littlebit and it took 90718 Antutu v8.0.3 score)
is there any dev can provide LineageOS 13.0 with latest security patch for Manta?

OP was correct in his request, because:
1. LineageOS' last build for Manta was July 2017, and the kernel was last patched and updated in 2018. That's very old for security patches.
2. And yes, it's fairly difficult to build for older versions with those older blobs that are no longer available for download.
CM13 was the last version released for Manta (Nexus 10).
If you care to read carefully, the build process does not bring in newer security patches into either build - it only pulls these last-known builds and builds them.
