REQ Modified app - Sprint LG G3

Ok so I have a dilemma. I hate the new facebook app (I know I know - FACEBOOK) and it is quite a bit like adware any time you share anything.
I have the apk of version 7, before they went to the crappy new style, but when running Lollipop and sharing media (pics, vids, etc.) it crashes.
I'm linking my apk file in the hopes that someone is just as annoyed as I am and any of you guys that are good and screwing around with apps might want to give it a shot.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2F-HTVujpE2OWVfa3ZiSW9LNVk&authuser=0

I built a transparent silver and black version from old release. No worries. I have tried so many times to rid "uPDate now for faster service" on top of feed. Lol was my first apk theme.

*BTW... sorry to the mods if threads like this exist already for this phone.*
•Facebook + Messenger - socialize from my couch
•Paper Camera - Takes awesome sketchbook style photos

kjv bible
skype
whatsapp (best app ever)

myatt (best way to pay a bill when you forgot to at home)
music online lite
xda app
the list got longer when i looked at my sexy phone im still missing an rss reader and a reddit app though. hoping someone here mentions a good one
Most of my installed apps are must have . Here's a link to the extensive list I provided someone else with.

I wish people would just post 1 or 2 apps, as huge lists with no explanations are kind of pointless.
With that said, I just got a GS2 and have been trying out some new apps I never bothered with on my Droid 1.
I'm using Plume for Twitter. It seems like the highest rated twitter client, and I can see why. It's really smooth and slick and has a pretty intuitive interface. I'm liking it a lot and see no reason to ever try another Twitter app.
Llama- Ever wanted to try tasker or Locale, or jealous of the Razr's 'smart actions' app, but didn't want to spend money on any of them? This is a free automatic settings manager and so far it seems really powerful. I'm just getting it set up today, so I don't know how well it works in practice, but it seems to be able to do anything the paid apps do if not more. I always wanted to see how one of these apps really worked but didn't want to pay 6 bucks for one like Tasker so I'd say this is worth trying out if you're looking for something like this.

At some point, people just have to give it a closer look and try it themselves. Anything in my list without a brief explanation is self explanatory.

Some of my favorite, less know apps:
MobiReader Pro: a picture OCR, done completely on your phone. Turns the text in the picture to a text document, where I then use...
CopyPaste Pro: to copy that text and move it to QuickOffice, and use Evernote, and bam! Document for my computer.
FourTracks Pro: for the mobile musician - it allows you to record four tracks much in the same way GarageBand allows you to, and using a couple other programs, I can mix, edit, and produce all on my phone.
ROMToolbox: amazing program. It combines many programs into one. Just look it up on Market. It's worth every penny.
WifiKill: a fun, trolling, but useful program. Kills any other devices connected to your wiring. So say your wife or children are using the internet, downloading movies and whatnot, you can use this app to cut them off, and get all that bandwidth back for yourself.
Finally, N64oid: a great N64 emulator. Nuff said.

How to you prevent google play upgrade?

I have the apk for the 3.4.4 market. I froze the market updater but when I install the Market apk within 5 minutes it updates to play. Is there a way to prevent the upgrade?
What's the big deal with preventing the update? Looks like exactly the same market with a name change to me. Just wondering what I'm missing and in no way trying to be a jerk.
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda premium
You dont want to stop the update because if you do, you will not be able to get apps or update current apps with the old market.
Anything else that relies on the newer market will fail as well. I doubt you could stop it anyway..
Install an older version of the Market and use Titanium Backup to freeze the Market Updater...but there's no good reason to not update.
The new market is great! LOL, it is pretty much the same. The only difference if you have a tablet and that allowed you to purches music through the app. Again looks pretty much the same. New name

personally the name change is annoying as all hell, google quit trying to program your brand name in my brain, when i want to buy and app or something i want to go to the market or to the store, not go to the google and pick up a new app.
every-time i'm in a rush trying to pull something from the app market i can't find the bloody icon because i'm looking for the market or in the old location on my app drawer, minor change i know but i have caught myself cussing at google when i needed to re-d/l my gps app after it crashed during a trip i as on a few days ago.
any chance of renaming the new app back to market without root?
Just use a launcher and if already do, just change the name duh..lol that's what I did ....

The only way to get around using Google Play is to not use android. What you're asking is the equivalent of saying you want to use an iDevice without the app store.

Memory needs > any update
I have a very good reason for not wanting auto-upgrades. Radio Shack misled me about the HTC Wildfire S and now I've got jack for memory. I have four apps installed, use only the native message app, and I'm lucky to have 25mb free. Anything less than that and the phone works as well as the Pony Express does today.
FWIW, Tandybot told me I could always install apps on the SD card. In theory, yes, but so few app devs code apps to work in that manner. Lesson learned.
kite edit: SNIP! No need for that kind of attitude around here, I'm afraid.

[Q] Music Junk HELP!

Does anyone know where I can find the latest version of Music Junk? Mine just keeps saying "Network Error" and all the searches I have done are really old posts. Can someone help me please???
Looks like it might be gone for good since the Facebook and Twitter page has been pulled....
I've been wondering the same, but I guess it really is finally gone for good... which blows because it was the best app for downloading music, hands down.
After posting my last, I installed Music Junk 4.3 on my phone again and opened it immediately to try it out again. I searched for music and it actually worked. I downloaded a couple of songs and everything, but then it stopped working after trying another search. Not sure what this means, but hopefully something positive...
Can you post a link for 4.3? I couldn't find it anywhere. I found other versions, but not that one. Pretty Please?
I have this problem with 4.3 I also tried to uninstall & reinstall. I tried 4.2 as well with no luck. This is typical of them when they change versions, but I haven't seen a 4.4 version out there...

I did last night, randomly... decided to install it again and try it. The first search worked and I was able to download several songs. After that, no such luck. I've been getting network error ever since.
I remember long time back (HTC hero days) music junk used to have some files, that used to pull data from these music websites, that used to get outdated. hence, the new versions would have the new files and we would not get the network errors...
If we can get a developer to look into some recent music junk versions and look into the changes made, we might be able to get it working again.

The thing is that music junk was the only app that showed the bitrate of each song. And it worked! The quality of songs was amazing.
The thing is that there is a very easy fix for this Network error... We just need a developer to look into it.

I agree, with Rolle you are at the mercy of whatever is available bit rate wise. I have had good results so far, sometimes CD 44.1 quality or near, sometimes its complete crap. Just throwing out there for a suggestion to hold you over! I agree and hope a developer can modify music junk as necessary.

Anybody know of an alternative method of downloading free music, I haven't paid for music in three years thanks to music junk.

I think it's a done deal, guys. Anytime the servers went offline & we waited on a new version,I was still able to download on mj ver3.0.that is the only version that would work all the time even when the newer current ones would come network error. Needless to say, 3 isn't working anymore.
No way 4.3 was working for me this month now i get network error why i love this app. Any one know if there is an update like 4.4 or am alternative app out there?
I'm using v 3.0.4, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. The trick is i have to press search a few times, i get the "network error'' the first tries but eventually it loads the search page. I get the error far more times when im using the network than through wi fi. But once it goes through i click on the song and downloads on the first try.

[APP] ESPN Scorecenter v3

There was a major UI overhaul for this app today, but the Play Store says the new version is not compatible with the DNA (nor any tablets from what I'm reading.) Fortunately, sideloading fixes this issue.

its basically just their mobile site you can get from the browser, but I find it works a little better than just using it in the browser. I hate using ESPNs apps, I just want some damn score and box scores. I don't want to add favorite teams, I don't care what your different talking heads have to say, I don't want to watch your videos, I don't need the latest update on Tebow, and I don't care who your sleepers are for this week in fantasy golf. I just want some damn scores, which their "Scorecenter" app makes somewhat difficult at times to provide.
With that said, the new update has made some progress over the old version and is a step in the right direction lol.

Reverting back to "Messaging" app in 7.0

Talked my wife into upgrading her Lumia 640 Windows phone to a LG G5 Android, and she liked it, until the thing (despite purposefully ignoring the update) updated itself in the middle of the night to Nougat 7.0.
When that happened, she lost the LG Messaging app. The one where the text bubbles are chickens and rabbits. Now, she has Messages (or something named confusingly similar) and she wants the old one back. She's mad that the phone forced her to 7.0.
I've looked around for the LG app APK so I could sideload it, but cannot find it.
Anyone know where I can get the Messaging APK file so she can get her chickens and rabbits back?
Thanks.

I suppose some people have basic messaging needs. As long as it sends and receives text messages (and in her case, with chicken and rabbit text bubbles) that is all she needs. As an iPhone user, I don't use all the crap that iMessages now do...I use it to send messages. I'm not 12 any longer...
Maybe she should try exporting the old stock "messaging apk" file from the old android phone to the new phone. Some file manager apps can let you do this. Not sure if it will let you install and older stock app over a newer stock app that exist on the phone. I hope this helps ?
I don't like the new LG stock message app either.
I loved the old "messaging" one with chicken and bunnies bubbles with clouds background
You don't have to be 12 to like cute messaging
bubbles. Just like Pokemon Go app even adults played it.
Textra only allows you to change color of text bubbles (it does not have themed bubbles or themed background wall paper for the bubbles like the old stock LG app). Plus the stock apps are ad free... Textra has ads.
