Have you gone into developer settings and enabled root? To get to developer settings you need to click on build number 7 or 8 times.

I couldn't help you with that. I never had to go through unlocking my phone. You can check out the threads in the general section. There are a few threads for unlocking in the general section.
Download this http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu amd flash it in your recovery. It should give root back also cm has its own built in super user.

I can't find any threads on this device but it is a really good phone and it was just on sale for Black Friday at Walmart.
I have tried everything to root this phone but to no avail. From what I can see, this phone is identical to the Galaxy Stellar except it is for Verizon Prepaid. Any ideas?
I have the same curiosity!
I forgot some details. I have tried the Bin4ry root tool and DebugFS. Both gave me "Permission Denied" errors which seems to indicate that this phone has a new security patch to work around.
I finally found the solution. Use Cydia Impactor. I can't post a link but just google it.

Anyone try Kingo root?
anyone having luck with a custom recovery ? any success with loki?
can someone please post a linkl to a stock rom cause i didnt back mine up and now it is screwed.
If you have received the MK2 patch and lost root or just now thinking about rooting your Legend, There is still a way.
It's called Safe Root. It's designed for the S4 but it works on the Legend just fine. I failed to do restore root when the patch went to my phone, I consequently lost root, tried to root again with Cydia and V Root, and they both failed. After going through the search process again, I found Safe Root here:

Thanks to dev. k1mu for this great work.

When I connected my phone via USB it initially was "Connected as an installer". Running the saferoot script in this mode didn't work as it would revert to MTP mode midway through. Putting the connection into MTP mode before running the saferoot script worked like a charm.
Thanks to all involved in making this happen and finding out that it works for the Galaxy Legend.
sch-I200pp factory rom
I have a samsung sch-I200pp factory os, trying to get familar w drop box to help out where I was having the same problem. Tips?
Prepaid to postpaid
I ended up getting a Samsung Galaxy Legend, but of course it is a Prepaid phone and I'm on postpaid. Does anyone know by chance, if I root this phone, is there a way to reprogram it or unlock it from prepaid so I can use it on postpaid? Thanks for your help...There's gotta be a way, right? It's just unlocking it, I think all Verizon does is put in a code. Thanks in advance!
Anyone with a rooted SCH-i200PP can please provide me with a copy of the /system/etc ??
Hi folks,
Ive been having a strange problem with a couple Galaxy Mega I9200. I have rooted both before without any problems using KINGO originally. The i decided to update both of them with version UBUCNA2. When i tried to re root them back, even though the process have run fine a couple times the phone is not rooting. At this point i dont know what else to do to try to root those phones. I have tried every single method around this forum i think not just KINGO this time. And have not been able to reach root the way it should. Titanium backup shows not able to aquire root priviledges, and other root apps also. Can someone please help me on this?? Keep in mind im not a newbie so dont give me the recovery method advice without something new or to use KINGO because ive have done that already. Thanks a lot guys
You upgraded your phones to the latest knox enabled firmware which has the knox bootloader. You cannot go back to an older firmware or flash a custom rom now.
To root, try the directions provided in this thread and use the melius3gxx files instead of meliusltexx.

Ok thanks, the phones already had the knox apk so my guess was that it was going to be the same thing. Thanks for clarifying that one. And thanks for the advice.
Thanks again, turns out the only thing that is failling root access is when i try to unlock the phone via box. For some reason when its checking for SU access it fails. But thanks anyway i managed to solve the Root problem.
root.
I rooted through Phill touch Recovery.
I have already tried rooting the Verizon Galaxy S5 with towelroot. It is giving me the message,"Phone isn't currently supported." I have tried using the different codes for the modstrings but it keeps giving me the same message. I am on android 4.4.4 so that is probably the issue. I am wondering if there is a fix or a different method of rooting the Verizon Galaxy S5. I would prefer a method that does not delete my data and lets me keep all my stuff.
Thanks!

You have to flash the NCG kernel through Odin, use Towelroot, install SuperSU from the Play Store and flash the kernel of the version you are on right now back.

Awesome! Thaks! Does this delete any of my data? Also, why do I need SuperSU?

No, it will not mess up your data. However, I would always suggest backing everything up, because just as any other software mod, things CAN go wrong, even if they should not. You can't be too careful, but you can certainly not be careful enough. And you want SuperSU to manage superuser permissions. Towelroot will install the SU binary, but without anything telling it what is ok to allow and what is not could allow for a malicious program to use those permissions against you.
Running a stock 5.1.1, I need root, and to unlock the carrier. its meant to be a prepaid phone, but i want to put my regular verizon service on it. ***Willing to do what is necessary in the name of android.
This is the phone. Only mine isn't 4.4 jelly bean

Literally can't find anything that works.
No links to ANY "unlocking" websites.
They are fake.
I refuse to use kingo root, doesn't work and the malware isn't worth it.
Chirp.. chirp...chirp..
Anything?
King root works, then use supersume app to replace ki ng user with super su i have the sm-j100vpp. And i knw for a fact that all works when done properly

Impossible to Root
If it is has been updated to most recent security patch and firmware! No King Root, No Kingo Root, NO IRoot, No Vroot, even the BST Dongle and software have no effect or chance of rooting this onry ass phone!

Check forums for firmware, i believe if its .tat.md5 odin flashes it regardless of the aboot version. Thus downgrading your bootloader & allowing root. xD
Hello XDA, I have a Alcatel idealXCITE 5044R from AT&T and I am having a hard time trying to root this phone. It comes with Android 7.0, if you found a way to root it please let me know.

I'm also currently trying to root this device. Like it's predacessor, the Alcatel Ideal (4060A), the IdealXCITE does not appear to have a locked bootloader. So, the best method for rooting this device will be to port/install custom recovery, and subsequently flash the SuperSU v2.82 systemless root script from custom recovery. I'll keep you posted on my progress. Please do the same. Thanks
if we could find a way to force it to enter in to the bootloader we could flash a custom recovery. edit: adb reboot bootloader does not work.
here is the buildprop: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=817550096634788588. if this phone is exploitable by dirtycow we can create a scrip to get to the bootloader or root it.
i found this line in the buildprop, #GTS force set flash lock to pass cts ro.boot.flash.locked=1. this could mean that the bootloader is locked.

Yes. You made a good find there. Systemless root is theoretically impossible with a locked bootloader, as I'm sure you already know. This device is looking more and more impenetrable every day.
are best bet to get root access is to call or email alcatel. plus that is what they sayed about the zte zinger but it got root access.

I will
wondershare failed to root this phone, man is this phone hard to root.
Is anyone still working on this device, or has it been abandoned?
I was but I just gave up on getting root access. If you think you know of a way to get root access please let me know.
Has anyone tried KingRoot? I have had it root phones that other tools failed on completly
King root doesn't work. Any ideas???
try NUTSACKrootSystem it works for everything except getting you a life
Yet you're wasting your time posting non sense like that on some online forums. Apparently its you who needs to get a life buddy.
