LOL..........Same here...........Ur best bet is to take ur phone to a service centre.......Most probably, they won't check if u have voided ur warranty (Based on the experiences of a few Moto G owners who did the same with their phones and got them bricked)......Tell them that ur phone became like this after an update and they'll fix it for u, I guess.........Try and tell me .....I'm planning on doing the same Missing my phone :crying::crying::crying:

The phone won't turn on.

Thankyou for the suggestions dem0nicbl00d. I have talked to the service center owner and he asked me to come on Monday as tomorrow is a holiday.
Another thing is that, I followed http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e/development/unbrick-hard-bricked-moto-e-t2974093 this guide and after doing this, the computer doesn't even detect the phone as qhsusb_bulk anymore. It just shows that an "unknown USB device" is connected. I tried re-following the same guide and re-ran blankflash but now all it shows is "waiting for device" which means that even if I get the required blank flash files, it'll be impossible to flash them as the phone is completely dead.
Is the phone really dead now? I mean can't it ever be switched on again? Can the android phones die forever this easily? I mean is it really *impossible* to do anything and get it running ever again? It's unbelievable that there's no other way. And I dont think the service center guy would magically turn it on some or the other way as I am 99.99% sure he's not that awesome of a geek.

Exactly my situation......I don't think they'll try fixing it.........They'll most probably just give u a replacement
And FYI, that guide links to tools that are supposed to be used for Moto G and are also so outdated that they don't work on Lollipop->KitKat downgrade bricks anymore............
Also, if anyone can point me in the direction of the FileFactory folder for Moto E, that would be helpful
---------- Post added at 04:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:08 PM ----------
And @nilanko, it would b awesome if u cud share ur experiences with the service centre guys..............Situations says I won't b able to get the nearest service centre till Friday............

Can you go to boot loader???

If they provide a replacement, I would say I am the luckiest guy alive-- but alas, I hardly have any hopes.. I don't think that if they send it to the company for replacement, they'd replace it just like that. I don't regret rooting as Moto E is pretty much useless without rooting with its mere 2.1 GB free space it offers.
And by the way, if they do send it to the company, where are they gonna send it? To flipkart? And how long will it take.. I mean how long do I have to forget that I used to have a Moto E before the company says anything? Any idea from your mates who have done the same?

Installed twrp (may be did some mistake) and then my phone stuck at boot animation. No further progress.
Went to boot loader and flashed the stock 4.4.4 firmware and again updated to lollipop.

And can u link me Moto E's FileFactory folder ??

dem0nicbl00d, yeah I would tell ya but I am gonna be dead if they return my dead phone back to me. I don't have money neither are my parents going to gimme 1 buck for another phone. Now using Nokia 6030.. I am telling in advance that I'm gonna be actually dead.
dhruvmu, no nothing. Phone does not turn on any more in anyway. I tried all possible combinations of key-pressing-- nothing works. It's totally dead. Not even the computer detects it as qhsusb_bulk anymore. It's just a dead unknown device which even the computer cant communicate with anymore.

I think the battery might be down.
Charging it might let u go to boot loader.
I have hard bricked my xperia ion a no of times and recovering it a tough job. Requires full charged battery to go to fastboot which takes 36 to 48 hrs. Notification led helps.
But dont know whether with charging the moto e you will be able to go to boot loader. Never faced anything like this.

Thanks for all this. You gave me some hope. But I know I am unlucky. I hope they replace the mobo or something.
I never knew 5.0.2 -> 4.4.2 -> 4.4.4 would lead to the phone's death and would require the hardware to be replaced. This is really weird.

Nothing is wrong with the hardware actually.......If we just had the necessary tools, the fix is just a few clicks away...........Like flash the bootloader, the flash the stock ROM n then voila.........But unfortunately for us, the tools are unavailable
And I'm pretty sure u'd b able to get it replaced for free..............Like that guy.......

Basically it was not 5.0.2 -> 4.4.2 -> 4.4.4 that bricked your device. I remember reading on XDA forums (i don't remember the exact posts) that once you upgrade from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4 you should never try to go back to 4.4.2.

wait
One thing can only help u
Waiting till mbm ci 5.0 for moto e is not released
When u downgraded to 4.4.2 I hope u did it without flashimg gptand motoboot
Were there screwn flickering issues
Many moto g owners also bricked their precious while applying ota from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4
So we are waiting for singleimage.mbn

I did'nt have issues with 4.4.4->4.4.2 except that gpt n motoboot failed to flash..........AFAIK the updated bootloader in Lollipop does not allow the KitKat kernel to boot and like during 4.4.4->4.4.2, does not allow being replaced by an older bootloader version and typically, the phone's bricked...................

Xperia U Goes to Black Screen after booting up

Greetings people of XDA
i have a big problem with my Xperia u
i've been using devswift's XNovathor ROM for a few days now, but a problem has occured
whenever i boot up the phone, the lockscreen will be displayed for a few seconds then suddenly the screen turns all black with no response
when i try to hold the power button, it reboots the device
i have tried wiping cache/dalvik/factory reset and reflashing the rom many times with cwm
and i have tried flashing stock Sony rom with flashtool to no avail
the same black screen appears again and again
can anyone please help me out?:crying:
here is a video of the problem

Meybe it's a hardware related problem that not related to the ROM you have used.
I would of think though it would be worth a try to repair the phone with PCC.
I don't know if the phone needs to be recognized first but it maybe it would have enough time before it goes blank.

i tried repairing with PCC and SUS but no luck
it most likely is a hardware issue
i guess i'll have to take it to a service center
does anyone have any estimate how much repairs would cost?

i already took it to the service center to have it looked at

@navxperia
Seems you are not the only one facing this problem.

Even if not the same exact behavior it's still related to the SIM which without it the phone works.
Keep us posted with results from service, get as much info you can from them maybe it could help people in the future.
just got my phone from the service center, they said the motherboard needs replacement
replacement would cost almost as much as the phone brand new
i guess i'll just use it like an ipod for now

Yeah ni Brick happens maybe,
AFAIK bootloader upgraded in 5.0.2 big update, so cant tell what happens, and if u used custom ROMs, then u cant live with Stock ROM anymore. Im sure you will restore that backup after trying Stock rom, IMHO wait for twrp backup of FINAL OTA and try that, not make any drastic steps now bcoz the device is year older so we have no Warranty now.. ...

Hey thanks bro, but I restored to 4.4.4 yesterday, got the OTA.... And guess what!!!!
I am running official 5.1 on my phone now... No brick has occurred, everything is smooth.
I have never taken such a serious and risky step before in my life! :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
But I can guarantee you and other fellow XDA members
Don't be afraid to install 5.1 OTA after restoring to stock 4.4.4 from 5.0.2
It actually works, since it Motorola has made it official.
Two things to note though....
The bootloader has been updated
The partition tables have been updated
The recovery is no longer the Kitkat one (as seen in 5.0.2 soaks)
Oh and BTW, if someone wants to get back to 4.4.4 for some reason, then he CAN, by flashing all the firmware files of 4.4.4 EXCEPT the bootloader and the partition. He will also get the OTA and install it fine. Just tried it tomorrow.
Peace!

Don't worry, I won't be hanging out for too lomg in this "featureless ROM"
Nevertheless, I think, it is good to get a taste of the Official ROM.
I have rooted it via TWRP, haven't tried kingroot!

Why do you want the TWRP backup, you can just revert to stock and get the OTA.
Anyways, please search a little bit more

I have made the backup, ready to be flashed....
Here are two things to do prior to installing
Do a backup of the previous ROM
Wipe Everything
Now install, and as soon as it completes setup, DO A FACTORY RESET (it gave bootloops, so I am requesting).
And another interesting thing, if you change the language to English US, the new Boot animation appears
I will definitely upload by tomorrow...
Thanks for the patience

Thanks to you bro
I had already made a back up just before rooting and after that I rooted, installed xposed etc.....When I got the stock recovery today I tried to restore the back up I had taken but same thing happened to me ....it didn't boot......stopped at android is starting then I forced switch off and rebooted to twrp and did a factory reset and then it booted ........
Initially it was showing the old animation (I had selected English (india) as language) but when I flashed the stock recovery , the animation changed to new one and I checked the bootanimation file is the same but I got the new one.....now when I flashed twrp again bootanimation stays as new one
Thanks for the upload again
I bet you both will back to Custom ROM again sooon, you all wasting time [emoji14]

How do I root a TCL PIXI 3(4.5)?

I have the 5017a variant of the Pixi3(4.5) running Lollipop. Kingo doesn't work, nor any other one click solutions I have found. Not even the Mobile Upgrade S software has the phone listed.
alcatelonetouch.com/global-en/products/smartphones/pixi_3_4-5.html
I don't mind downgrading to a kitkat rom, but I have been unable to find that either.
Does anyone know of any way to root this phone, or did I end up buying one of those obscure models that will never be rooted?

Hi for your original rom, go to http://www.alcatel-mobile.com/global-en/support/softwareUpgrade/list good::good::good:

Fingerprint sensor stopped working after unbricking my XT1650-03.

I suffered from a hardbrick when locking my bootloader. managed to install the Stock firmware with December 2017 updates. (Software channel retca) phone finally came alive after 3 days working on it but the fingerprint scanner seemed to have disappeared. Any ideas why and how to fix it?
i have the same problem too! i've tried to install stock and custom rom but still, no luck . If anyone here know how to make the fingerprint scanner works again, kudos to you!
I managed to do the bootloader lock again, however, then I ran out of operator, but I unlocked the bootloader and installed a custom rom and everything is functional.

You need re-lock your bootloader, and flash stock again, after that your fingerprint work again.

No, it's locked as factory.
@erfanoabdi do you know any solution for our problem?
Did anyone find a solution yet?
I was finding out that several MOTO G4 PLUS users had the same problem, because it is an error in the HW partition error that was solved thanks to a user who uploaded a copy of his partition without errors, sorry for my English and for not knowing much of the subject, I feel that based on this we can solve our lack of fingerprint sensor since several users of moto z have the same problem.
I attach the link, the important information goes from page 10 onwards, in the YouTube video you see how the own partition is arranged based on the partition without errors uploaded by the user
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...luss-model-changed-to-g4-lost-t3496912/page10
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2Pao6lnINg
I trust that one of you will help us with the copy of the hw partition which can be done with partitions backup & restore apk
