I flashed CM12 and its not recognizing my T-mobile Sim card. Works fine on Cloudy G3 and CM11. I check the network in the settings and its connected to Sprint and I get 1x as a signal.
Is this a common bug or is there a fix I am unaware of? I tried messing with *#*#4636#*#* and messing with preferences and all that stuff.
As this appears to be a CM12 problem, is there a CM12 thread you can ask the question in?

Hi everyone,
I was using adfad666's KANG rom on new baseband using my old SIM card, but just moved to the US and got a T-Mobile prepaid SIM. I wasn't able to get signal using this card, though it was working on other mobile phones.
I thought it could be due to the new baseband, so I downgraded and tried a few roms for old baseband. Right now I'm with SlimGen, based on nightly, with no success. I also tried flashing aspee's baseband fix, but didn't get it working either.
Right now, automatic network searching says "Registered on network", though a warning sign appears on the tray saying "Selected network (T-Mobile) unavailable".
I've been reading this forums for a solution but I haven't been able to figure it out yet. Has anyone had this problem before?
What combination of baseband, ROM and patches should I try?
Thanks
EDIT: I'm also not able to find WIFI networks when scanning, though I'm not sure it's related.
It's possible it's the sim card, but you should first try updating the APN list: http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/wiki/APNlist

I don't think there's a problem with the SIM, as it works on other mobiles.
I'm not sure about this, but aren't APN's for data access only? I don't have regular 2g/3g signal.
It seems you use T-Mobile in the US, what baseband/rom/patch combination are you using? I would like to take that out of the way first.
I'll try to set up the APN, nevertheless.
Thanks
I've looked around for similar thread(s) but found nothing. I recently followed the instructions on this website-> "teambamf.net/index.php/topic/3528-guide-to-install-ics-ruu-and-firmware-windows/" and got the phone started up. Unfortunately since I'm not Verizon (T-mobile USA) I've been stuck at the "Activating" screen for hours now and it keeps saying "SIM card from unknown source". Any help to fix either (if not both of these problems) will be greatly appreciated.
P.S - tried rebooting several times and still stuck at the Activation screen after SIM from unknown source.
did you try to boot the phone up first without sim card? The phone by default is locked to cdma and you would have to manually change to gsm in order for it to work.
Try to boot up without SIM (and also any SD card. I had issue that my sd card has a rom in it and it won't let me to get any network data, so I had to erase the SD card and it work. So start without the sd card). Then setup the phone. Once it's setup, change the network to GSM and then shut down and put hte sim. See if this works.
I would suggest check out this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421341
also, is your sim already activated? I am not too sure if you can use rezound ot activate any sim. if it is not activate, try to activate with a diff phone first and then put in the rezound afterwards.

If you have Verizon and a Verizon branded phone and are getting this message, you need to contact customer support.

Have you tried this solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1882355
Otherwise, the Business Sense ROM is based on stock, and this will happen on all stock ROMs, but it should not effect actually using the device... It would be best to move to a CM or AOSP based ROM.
I've brought this LG G3 Verizon back in June. I'm running CM 13 20161102 build. Everything seems to work fine except the 4G services. When I change the preferred network type to LTE, the network bar disappear and shows no service. 3G and 2G work fine. I've also tried changing the preferred network type from *#*#4636#*#*, still no profit. I also tried changing the APN, still no luck. Please help me. (I'm using this phone in India). Thanks in advance.
UPDATE: I just found out that I have to enable the LTE bands. So using TWRP, I restored the stock KitKat ROM backup. Then I used Shortcut master to access the hidden menu, selected all bands and restarted my device. Then 4G seemed to work. Then I again restored the CM13 backup. I saw that the problem still persists. I want to know if there is a hidden menu in CM13 like the stock ROM has? If yes, please tell me how to access it and enable LTE bands. Thanks.
I have a G3 that I use for my riftcat setup and I no longer have it in service because it stopped reading sim cards. Long story short I want to connect my phone via USB tethering to this app, but I can't turn it on because I don't have a sim card. Is there a way for me to turn on USB tethering without a sim card? Like a with a different rom or app for example. It's rooted and has a recovery installed.
Thanks

You cannot usb tether without sim card. Since you're rooted, install a newer version of bootstack. (35b for Verizon lg g3) and/or factory reset.
If you're running a custom rom, then go to dialler and dial *#*#4646#*#*, then go to phone info and choose LTE or wcdma or gsm (depending on your sim).
Well I I took my board and reworked the SoC and now my sim card is working again even though it's not activated any more. I installed the new lineage rom and I can tether my USB now.
-Lineage OS=doesn't work (booted up fine, but no data or calling. We COULD see "Verizon" network listed, but SIM refused to link. Also tried putting in manual APN settings, but Lineage OS refused to save them)
-Mokee 8.1=doesn't work (booted up fine, but couldn't read SIM card)
-Dirty Unicorns=doesn't work (booted up fine, but couldn't read SIM card)
-AOSiP=doesn't work (Upon start-up, WiFi wasn't working (IP & MAC address "unavailable"), SIM Card Not Found and no Mobile Network options (all grayed out)
Surprised a developer hasn't found away around these simple APN settings...
UPDATE: Get Verizon to run on Sprint Variant:
Follow these steps!

Please let us know if you know a work around this...thanks!
The only work around is junking the VZW Sim cuz they don't support custom Development. In fact, they go outta their way to prevent it.

Know of a way we can use custom software and stay on the Verizon network using a Sprint Moto z2 Force?
